  1. If the fuel is bad it could cause a misfire. What code are you getting now?
  2. Because sync isn't just providing a second monitor - that would be apple carplay. Essentially it treats a mp3 player as a hard drive with music files and playlist files. It has to keep a list of all of the songs and playlists for voice recognition because all of the voice recognition is done within sync. Why? Because sync is generic and works with all mp3 players AND (this is probably the most important) it works with raw files on a usb drive where there isn't any onboard app. They had to make sync work with many different mp3 players and with raw files so that's the only way to do it consistently. What you're asking for is Apple CarPlay where the app controls playback through the car monitor.
  3. I decided to delete all the off topic posts so as not to derail the technical discussion.
  4. They only have 5 shown as either in stock or dealer ordered. Skillman has 33 with 12 shown as dealer ordered. Hibler either has an allocation problem or some other problem (Credit??) that's causing Ford not to ship them many Edges.
  5. It IS accessing the device - that's the only way it can tell which files were added or removed. It only does it when something changes. The voice command files are in sync, not on the device. It takes time to see what changed.
  6. Neither. It pertains to the number of vehicles the dealer has been allocated by Ford. Each dealer is given an allocation for each vehicle based on past sales performance and other factors. During each scheduling cycle (weekly I think) the factory gives each dealer an allocation (or none) and those vehicles get scheduled. If the dealer has 10 orders in queue but only has allocation for 2 then only 2 get scheduled that week. If they don't have any allocation that week then none are scheduled. I doubt they will admit that it's an allocation problem. Do they have a lot of Edges in stock? What's the dealer's name and zip code?
  7. From my dealer contact: I think your dealer has an allocation problem and they're not being honest with you. Check with Ford on twitter or facebook and see if they can get you a better answer or call Ford.
  8. I asked a buddy over at blueovalforums that works for a dealer. I'll let you know what he says. He's the one who preaches about this info being available to the dealers - he keeps track of it for his dealers and updates all the sales droids.
  9. The dates wouldn't really matter since production didn't start until mid December. The vehicles are built based on priority so if your order was a priority 10 and there were no other priority 10s from that dealer in queue yours would be built first no matter the date on the other orders. Date is only used if there is more than one vehicle with the same priority and there is not enough allocation to build all of them at the same time. And again - they don't have to guess as to whether there is a delay with Electric Spice - it would be identified in the weekly dealer info. Your dealer is either too lazy to just go look it up or they're lying to you. Let me see what I can find out.
  10. It's always a gamble. It comes down to how much you hate the idea of spending $1k on something you may never use versus paying out of pocket for a potential repair. I never buy them and I'm at least $8K ahead. Even if I had a big repair bill tomorrow I'm still way ahead.
  11. Hey Ford Fam, We will be away from the forum temporarily. If you guys need help, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us via Twitter or Facebook. If you need immediate assistance, please contact your dealer or the Customer Relationship Center. For the CRC, dial 1-800-392-3673 OR 1-800-232-5952 (TDD for the Hearing Impaired). Thanks for your patience! Tricia
  12. You're correct - didn't realize that. Same thing on the Fusion forum. Twitter or Facebook should still work or just call the Ford CSR number.
  13. It means the oil pressure is too low or the sensor is bad. Check the oil level immediately and don't drive it with the light on - you could damage the engine. It's entirely possible they didn't fill it back up. If it has oil and no visible link it's either a bad sensor or the oil pump or maybe the wrong filter - in any even it's not safe to drive with low oil pressure.
  14. That's complete BS or the dealer is just too lazy to look it up. If there was a hold on a paint color the dealer would know for sure. Ford publishes this info at least weekly. Send a PM to FordService and see if they can check on your order status for you.
  15. The benefits of slotting and drilling are only applicable on a track, not daily driving. For daily driving it's purely aesthetic.
  16. Exactly why you need to read the OM for YOUR specific vehicle. It can change between model years (and sometimes during).
  17. https://www.motorcraftservice.com/ownerinformation
  18. I used exactly what the OM called for.
  19. Ford ESP is usually 7 yrs/100K miles (from the purchase date).
  20. First thing is to get the 3rd key programmed if it doesn't currently start the car. Instructions are in the OM - as long as you have 2 working keys you can do it yourself. After that if it still doesn't work check the vehicle menu for remote start options.
  21. It's worth it to me. I like the glass even when it's not open. If you don't use a sunroof much now then it may not be worth it.
  22. That color is on our short list along with silver and ruby red.
  23. I've found that speaking in a normal voice and speaking slightly faster than normal works better (for MFT at least) than trying to speak slower and more loudly.
  24. You'll either have to get your local dealer to look it up for you (if you're looking for them to make a dealer trade) or I believe on the build and price website there is a link to have Ford find a vehicle for you.
