Well, you have to remember that Ford dealers are not owned by Ford - they're independent businesses and Ford has no control over what they charge or how they do maintenance or what they recommend to their customers. Many dealers still include stickers that recommend 3K mile oil changes.

You can't "chip" modern Fords any more - you need to reflash the PCM with a custom tune. SCT is one tuner that many have used and there are many sources for tunes. Essentially it just advances the timing requiring 93 octane for max performance. Some tunes may or may not change throttle response and shifting. If you see a chip today for a Ford it's probably just a resistor being added to the IAT and they don't work.

That is a possibility if it's a Titanium only part or color, etc. I know there are not a lot of Titaniums in stock yet because I'm looking for one. Although I'd hate to acknowledge that a salesperson might be right since 95% of the time they seem to either be guessing or making stuff up.

Probably most of it. I think I've seen folks who went 30 miles past 0 MTE on purpose just to test it (don't ask me why). In a one-time emergency, probably not. But I sure wouldn't try it on purpose or do it more than once.

Whatever they feel like including. From a Ford standpoint I don't think they require anything other than oil and filter changes up to 100K outside of "severe service". Things that could be changed would include spark plugs, coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid.

Ford has had cooled seats that worked fine (including the back) as far back as 2003. This was simply a new design that didn't get tested well enough.

I hope you weren't driving and watching the video at the same time, but I digress...... So the phone is trying to send the audio to sync but sync isn't playing it? Did you try un-pairing and re-pairing your phone? I assume that sync is set to your phone as a bluetooth input source and you've checked the volume on both the phone and the vehicle. The only thing I can think of is to try a master reset on sync and try rebooting your phone as well.

Not available. You can get a loaded SEL or Sport without it or a base (300A) Titanium but it's part of the 301A and 302A Titanium packages.

Wasn't in the past, not sure about the new Continental. If you think about it, you never really touch the other parts of the seats anyway. I'm pretty sure this is standard practice from other mfrs too.

It's designed to yield a bit more power and mpg with premium (including some of the advertised power figures) but not enough for most people to really notice. Regular is fine.

The seating surfaces are real leather, but the sides and backs may not be.

Smart refers to the ability to transfer torque to the rear BEFORE slip actually occurs, such as when you accelerate hard from a stop or accelerating while turning, etc. It uses steering angle, throttle position, yaw and other sensors to do this. But most of the time it is in FWD only.

No it's the bluetooth connection. On the old version if I drove the wife's Escape it would auto-connect to her phone in the house, then disconnect when I got a few hundred feet away and it would not connect to my phone. With 3.8 it will connect to my phone after a few minutes.

In that case I wouldn't be relying on even a 50 mile reminder. Although even at 0 MTE there is typically 1.5 gallons or so left giving you another 30 miles or so.

On the CD4 vehicles (2013+ Fusion, 2015+ Edge), the low fuel warning doesn't come on until around 30-35 miles to empty and it's not a specific number - it seems to vary. I much prefer the 50 mile warning.

I think he was asking about sync3 vs. sync, not sync3 vs. MFT. Sync just gives you simple voice control and the ability to plug in a usb stick, phone or ipod to play music. Sync 3 gives you the 8" touch screen, access to Siri for iphone/ipad users and future upgrades to support apple carplay and android auto plus the option of Factory navigation (must be purchased with the vehicle).

There should be an option on the phone for the audio destination. Change it from sync back to phone.

I think you're missing the point. That particular problem could occur at any time on any vehicle at any plant. And it probably does - the only difference is they usually find it before it leaves the plant. The only time you hear about it is when they have to recall already sold vehicles or issue a stop sale order.
