Who wants a SHO when the Fusion Sport outperforms it?
-
I don't think Ford would want to sell vehicles directly to the public, but there are some things they could do that would be beneficial. Holding dealerships accountable for their service and customer service. Customers tend to hold bad service against Ford when it's beyond their control. Direct factory orders and tracking but with delivery and service at a local dealer. No dealer allocation limitations. Factory service centers where you can get factory certified help especially with tricky warranty issues. This one is tricky since it would be competing directly with dealers service departments, but it solves the problem where your local dealer can't fix your problem.

I would use rubber tires, not alloy tires, but that's just me......

The real culprit here is B-square - they wrote the initial bug-ridden version of MFT. It's really difficult to patch bad code. I think that's the main reason they started over with sync 3.

Tesla has already tried - and lost so far. And there is nothing the President can do - these are state laws.
-
It's really really simple why Ford can't do that (or any other mfr): State franchise laws. It is literally against the law for Ford or any other mfr to sell a vehicle directly to the public. If Ford even hints at trying to do this in any way shape or form they get sued. These laws have been on the books since the 50s (at least). Supposedly it "protects" the lowly dealers from the big bad corporate giant. In reality they are antiquated but politicians won't repeal them. E.g. - Ford tried to create a website where a customer could find a CPO used Ford vehicle, select it and have it sent to their local Ford dealer for purchase. Dealers sued, Ford lost. Ford tried to give dealers an incentive for better customer service by giving blue oval certified dealers an extra 0.25% holdback. Dealers sued, Ford lost. It's not that Ford can't do it - they aren't allowed by law.

I've been buying Fords for 25 years. I prefer the styling and features to most of the competition. We'll be buying a 2016 Edge shortly. I've only had one serious problem - head failure on a 2003 Aviator. There are some things I don't like - door latches not being redesigned or extending the warranty, water leaks, fuel tank problems, etc. I think Ford has cut costs too much in some areas. However, I don't believe that Ford is on an island here or that other mfrs are that much better. I think they all have issues, so pick your poison. If there was a non-Ford vehicle that we liked more than the Edge I would look at it, but there really isn't for us right now. I'm willing to put up with some potential problems. But for someone who isn't a huge Ford fan I could see where an experience like this would push you away and nobody could really blame you. They've really screwed the pooch on a few of these issues. What I would like to see Ford do is step up when these things happen and just offer an immediate buy back of the vehicle. Or extend the warranty on things like the door latches. Take care of the customer. That would go a long way towards customer satisfaction even if problems occur. They do it sometimes but not consistently.

I'm sure you usually didn't order a new vehicle almost 2 months before it went into production, either. I wish Ford would not use dealer allocation when building reatail (sold) units. They've done this before on some vehicles but I suspect the bigger dealers as a whole don't like it since it might reduce their overall allocation. But it sure would be better for us.

File a complaint with the BBB. If that doesn't work, sue them. Ford probably can't help with that.
-
Most likely your dealer either has limited allocation or there were too many other sold orders ahead of you. If it was a parts issue then the dealer would have been able to tell you exactly what it was and why. And it would not be scheduled. Once it's scheduled that means it can be built and then it comes down to allocation. Do you know your order priority? Was it

Do I have a heater issue?
akirby replied to northernone's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
It doesn't work the same and I don't like the new one. It blows cold air when it should not and I have to adjust the temperature setting. And it seems to go from cold air to hot air with nothing in between. I have to adjust the temperature more on the new ones. -

The hvac system in 2013+ fusions and 2015+ Edges is completely different from the previous models. And not in a good way..... -
I'll see if our local Ford Service reps can help. Is there another dealer you can take it to if necessary?

Make sure recirculate is not turned on - that just traps moisture. It's possible that it doesn't automatically use the windshield vents in auto mode - just hit the defrost button until it clears then go back to auto. -
2015 edge low beam

To be fair, you posted it in response to "what does your cutoff look like" which was in response to having LEDs. So if that image isn't an actual image of your vehicle with LEDs then that's misleading. Now let's be careful with the personal attacks here and if necessary just agree to disagree. -
Ford ESP? 3 yr/100K warranty? Never heard of that one. Are you sure it's not 7 yr/100K miles? Was it a CPO vehicle?

Exhaust leak would be first guess, intake leak second.

Etis is a european system - maybe that's the euro spec octane.

They are supporting Android auto and Apple carplay on sync 3 later this year.

How do you install new rocker panels on 2013 Ford Edge SEL
akirby replied to Noah Gold's topic in Exterior & Body
That's just a door molding - rocker panel is completely different. I would assume it just clips in but don't know for sure. -

The actual rocker panel or the trim piece on top of it? -
The memory feature is important to me since I have 2 and sometimes 3 drivers.

Wear isn't the issue. The issue is if your tires are 50% worn and you have to replace one due to a puncture.

This is REALLY killing you, isn't it?
