Did you have the key on and/or engine running when you filled it up? That will mess up the sensors. Should reset itself though. If not your fuel level sensor in the tank might be bad.

What Color (Colour) is your Ford Edge or MKX?
akirby replied to Edge Guide's topic in Exterior & Body
Colors have been updated. Please go back and select your color if it wasn't there before. -
Any deal which you've already made is a good one. Never look back you'll only make yourself sick. A new one is around $27K (that's X plan including incentives so you're not going to do much better than that). That's $7K savings and you got what you wanted and you're happy. win/win

No, it's 365 hp (not 465) but you're right about the torque - 350 lb ft in FWD models. Since the Edge is based on CD4 which was built to handle ecoboost power I'm sure it can handle 375 lb/ft from the 2.7L EB just fine with no need for torque management. My point was that the engine didn't lose 60 lb/ft going from RWD to FWD - they just had to limit the torque because the D3/D4 chassis and 6F55 trans couldn't handle 420 lb/ft. But it should handle 375.

Actually it was the other way around - the FWD version came first at 365 then the F150 RWD at 420. The reason is the FWD 6F55 tranny could only handle 365 lb/ft - the computer limited the torque. Since the 6F55 can already handle at least 365 lb/ft there is no reason to limit the 2.7L EB to less than 365 hp.
-
But educated speculation since the F150 numbers have already been released. Edge version will be FWD and different exhaust and probably tuned differently but the F150 numbers would be a good guide. F150 2.7L EB is 325 hp/375 lb/ft.

No inside info. They did not release any dates for the 2014 or 2015 Edge until last month. They would have normally been released late spring or early summer. Had Ford been planning to launch the 2015 Edge in February 2015 all along it would have been designated as a 2016 model. The fact that it's still called a 2015 means they were planning to launch it in 2014.

I don't think it qualifies as an emissions related defect. But it would be covered under a Premium ESP bumper to bumper warranty.

Interior door handle trim?
akirby replied to carsick30's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
You'd have to use some type of filler to smooth it out first. I'd just spend the $55. -
I don't think so.

Anyone tried Griot's Garage products?

Not me personally but several folks in different forums have used their products and love them. -
Brake Booster Replaced (Edge 2012)
akirby replied to kingpounds's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
It's usually a wheel speed sensor. See if you can pull a code. -
If it fails during the warranty period then of course it's covered by the warranty (36K bumper to bumper, not the 60K powertrain). If it's outside the 36K warranty then it'snot covered.

2011 Ford Edge Wont start
akirby replied to splork's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
I hate to be Captain Obvious, but did you have your foot on the brake when you pressed the start button (in addition to having the shifter in park)? -
Really, really late. They were obviously planning to have it out sooner than this, otherwise they would have started 2015 production earlier and ended it in January so the new one would have been a 2016 model. They obviously ran into issues and therefore had to push it back a few months but it was too late to change the model year changeover.

Pretty sure you can buy one on your own for $150 or less and install it in ten minutes. $700 seems high even for a dealer but that might be the going rate.

Seeking advice on inspecting a used 2013 SEL

If AWD check for PTU leaks - not sure of the exact location but I think it's between the engine and wheel on the passenger side (but that's just a guess). Open and close all the doors and make sure the door ajar light isn't on. -
They may be staggering the rollout to avoid overloading the servers. Or they just haven't run all of the update jobs to show that this update applies to your vehicle. I only remember one MFT update that had to be dealer installed and that was a couple of years ago so chances are you can do it yourself.
-
I wonder if that explains some folks who are having problems and/or poor fuel economy.
-
So it was malfunctioning, just not enough to be obvious.
-
Personally I wouldn't mess with it unless there is a problem. It's a pretty sensitive part.

Problem with door ajar sensor
akirby replied to TORQUERULES's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
They shouldn't issue a recall (not safety related) but they should extend the warranty to cover all these failures. -
Is it malfunctioning?
