  1. Its a dealer only access site. It is the tool they use to submit and monitor order progress. It has a lot more detail than the VIN tracking site customers have access to. The order fulfillment tracking site shows full order history and WBDO has their entire order bank with current status.
  2. Did you dealer look it up in WBDO to see if it ever had any status updates? Also do you know what the priority code was?
  3. Update as of 12/1/18 my VIN has been updated to "In production" and I have the window sticker. I'm not sure how delivery will work with the holiday. As of now the arrival date is still set on Christmas day.
  4. I feel there are too many variables to really know without testing. Variable valve timing + air temp + driving style + engine temp would effect the frequency and severity of preignition. I would say it would likely be noticeable though if it is in fact pulling timing due to knock
  5. Some of the tests were done with 91. The C&D doesn’t even say what was used (at least I didn’t see). I doubt it’s a Ton of lost power at 87 given the compression ratio. It might be more for heavy track use with tons of heat soak to guarantee power without risk of preignition.
  6. It is just recommended for max output. You can run 87 if you want
  7. So you nit pick the data that best supports your end decision to buy a 2018? c&D 0-60 numbers and ignore skid pad and owner impressions. Official MPG rating rather than test obeservations and owner claims. You argue it’s not proper “competition” for the outgoing model regardless if it was ford’s intent it does beat the 2018 in just about everything. So I guess the 2018 was a terrible step up from the 2017 by your standards.
  8. Depends on what you are looking for. The fuel savings will eventually catch up in pricing on the ST and the inferior handling of the sport makes it not truly parity in performance. For me the omission of the Sony sound system, exterior changes and added fuel economy make the 2019 a better option.
  9. New but discontinued. Any 2018 is just dealer stock or unallocated inventory. Ford will offer huge markdowns to sell them off even risking 2019 sales.
  10. I would buy a current year (Enter item here) reguardless of the previous generation specs if I was in the market for a new (Enter item here) rather than used. As long as it meets all of my needs and compares well to it’s actual competitors. Progress is what makes products tend to move forward. Competition from other brands and consumer demand. It is not the need to outdo the predecessor. That is personal opinion and marketing gimmick
  11. But what your claiming is a son is a fathers competitor. It’s simply a predecesor. The outgoing model will become unavailable as a new car. They are not positioned to compete with each other.
  12. This looks great to me. Especially with stock intake and exhaust. I will likely never tune mine but I love seeing progress in aftermarket. The people who seem never happy with anything on the forums are likely just trying to justify a decision or inability to buy the ST at this time.
  13. Thats more of a marketing gimmick and a personal opinion. Ford would love to see 2018 inventory gone. Ford met its goals making it the fastest ST vehicle and improving on the sport. Claiming it is worse than any year sport edition based on a .1 second slower 0-6 test and ignoring the 2 mpg increase while doing so is just ridiculous. Nearly every aspect of it is an improvement and you really have to ignore facts to convince yourself otherwise.
  14. The update is exactly what I expected. Reviews will vary wildly in 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. It’s reached near parity with the 2015 sport while gaining 2 mpg and much improved suspension. Don’t forget this is NOT a vehicle competing with the sport edition. It is the replacement.
  15. I was stopped at a traffic light behind a school bus a few months ago and suddenly a car came flying through the intersection, jumped the curb and flew through the display window of a business next to me. It had narrowly missed the bus but clipped a few other cars. The car came to rest on a large landscaping stone and on the twisted window frames. I jumped out to check on the driver and heard the engine bouncing off the rev limited and as soon as I reached the drivers door the engine blew ( bottom end failure). A small oil fire started under the car and we got the guy out. Not a single person had an extinguisher so we watched the entire building slowly catch fire. Even some sand might have helped but there was onlyblandscaping stones filled with broken glass. https://www.nbcconnecticut.com/news/local/Car-Crashes-Into-Building-Catches-on-Fire-in-Bloomfield.html
  16. I didn't get the 401A. I cant imagine it being much different assembly times though. It might be different body harness but def different front and rear seats, different headlights and a few other small items. They likely use the same harness regardless and omit a specific control module though.
  17. When not in sport and the radio is off it will reduce some noise determined to be unfavorable by ford engineers. I don’t know if the system is actually working with radio on but based on info from other forum members it’s designed to be active when the radio is off.
  18. Thanks for that info. I saw others complain about the reverse camera quality also. The navigation through the dash center speaker sounds good to me. I don't like the instructions to be a major interruption. In my 2011 it blares through all the speakers like yours and I have always hated that.
  19. It likely uses its own source not tied to the audio system so it cannot be disabled that way.
  20. It uses the noise cancellation system which has microphones that capture engine noise and creates neutralizing frequencies in the sound system to block out the noise. Its basically instead capturing engine noise and amplifying it through the sound system. I'm sure its losing some frequencies and enhancing others though so it will sound artificial.
  21. Yours is set to beat mine even with a late order date. I ordered on 9/19/18 and is set for delivery on 12/25/18. The last car I factory ordered took about 10 weeks as well and was a first generation model. (Dodge Caliber R/T AWD)
  22. If memory serves me it is also a digital amp (Class D) with no analog elements. The speakers are digital input for efficiency.. In fact B&O holds patents on a distortion reduction system that emulates analog quality from digital source and signal.
  23. Did you try power launching it? Using the brake to bring the revs up to converter stall speed at launch?
  24. I think it might be best to wait till testers have production units and revisit this. I'm betting we will see tester numbers ranging as much as 1 full second In 2011 C&D and MT both tested mine and had a huge difference. 7.6 on MT and 6.9 on C&D. As for handling I have yet to see an owner say the ST handles worse than previous models. For a track rated "Sport" Ill happily pay the tiny price increase to have a more reliable car for spirited driving. For me its a giant upgrade from my 2011 though.
  25. Can you comment on clarity and range? Do the speakers bottom out at high volume and does it need tweaking to balance out treble and mids from the factory defaults? I definetly have high hopes for the B&O system.
