  1. 2011 SEL AWD that has two cans. But now I know why there seems to be so much bad info on what hitches fit these cars. For anyone interested I have a Valley hitch that will fit the old style exhaust with stamped cans. Might fit the single can version too but I don't know.
  2. Make sure they don't have a credit card for you on file. A buddy of mine told them to remove his credit card info last time and called about 6 months ago, they confirmed they did but when the radios were supposed to shut off they kept going. Turned out they went back through their records and billed and the same card.

If you think about a USB flash drive check out this site http://slickdeals.net/ you can typically find drives for $1/GB or less.
  4. So with non IA what are you supposed to do? Seems kind of strange that I have to apply the brake and start to shift out of park to get it to shut down then put vehicle back in park, insert key and start the car then shift out of park. I am afraid to have the wife insert the key before this point though because if she turns it too far she'll engage the starter when it is already running. Or does this kit also disengage teh starter so you can't do that?
  5. Good for you....wish I was getting service like that. I had sent several emails into tech support and finally they told me I had to call in. Woman I spoke to was useless, after almost an hour on the phone I got no where...no help with constant reboots or anything but she said I would receive a call in two days. Well that was Friday so even if she was referring to normal business days they still haven't contacted me. So frustrating.
  6. OK another question...when is the negine supposed to turn off? The way it seems to work now is you can open the door, insert key and turn to on position but it doesn't shut off until you try to change gears. Doesn't make sense to me since you would have to put the car back in park to restart. Is this really the way it is supposed to work? I thought it was supposed to shutdown when the door opened.
  7. Well got the remote start installed and of course received zero documentation with it. Right now everything is set to auto but can anyone confirm at what temps the heat or cooling kicks in? I seem to remember some saying right around freezing but don't recall anything for cooling.
  8. I did verify ours works via composite input while in park.
  9. with our 2011 SEL AWD I can get 24 on a pure highway ride driving ~65mph, no back roads no lights. Once you introduce and variability in speed and it drops to 19-21 depending on terrain.
  10. Perfect thanks. If the MKX didn't include a valet key I can be sure the Edge didn't come with one.
  11. Wow that is low. They don't hold up their side of the deal and refuse to get you a ride home? Sorry to hear the deal went south but I guess it is better to know the dealer stinks before you buy and go for service. If they do give you the deal would you even bother? Things like that tend to make me stay far away. Just not worth the time.
  12. Nice...how many miles did you have on it before changing? Looking pretty dirty in there.
  13. Not sure if the install of the remote start kits requires this but in the past reprogramming of other vehicles required all keys be present so they didn't get dropped out of the system. Since my dealer doesn't seem to know the answer I plan on having all the keys present just in case. But I can't remember how many we got. I know there are two keys with integrated keyless entry but do you also get valet keys? Was hoping someone could confirm before I start tearing the house apart looking for something that might not exist.
  14. If you are happy with the car you made the right decision. But for differences I think I read that they added some more sound insulation and a few other very minor tweaks. Probably nothing you'd ever notice to be honest. I think the other changes were exterior colors as some colors were no longer available after the earthquake/tsunami in Japan. By the way welcome to the forum. Oh and is that Morris county NJ?
  15. Check out these guys: http://www.partscheap.com/Ford-Edge-Electronic-Accessories-s/185.htm It does list the 100 series as being compatible. I had contacted them a while back and they were extremely helpful so I am sure they would help you out too if you have questions/concerns. I was going to purchase from them since they were so helpful but my local dealer wanted 160 bucks to program the kit and told me there were no guarantees. So by the time I bought the kit and paid them it was going to be about the same as just letting them do it. So Monday ours goes in for the install.
  16. My limited experience with the data in the US isn't that great. I thought it would be a great feature but on my trip from NJ to SC this summer all but one of the delays/slow downs it listed didn't exist by the time I got there. Maybe it is better around big cities at peak hours but the I-95 corridor is pretty well traveled regardless of time.
  17. I don't think that is right...pretty sure from 2011 on they changed it to something like 63.5. But if you are unsure why don't you measure the wheels you have to verify?
  18. Often. What is strange is ours will behave itself for a few days then just let loose and constantly reboot, change audio sources, screen be dead, screen stay on after car is off and doors locked...really random things. But relief should be on its way, they are currently beta testing a new rewrite that we should all see in the first quarter of '12.
  19. Especially if there are still bugs and another revision comes out. At least you know you'll be able to get updates for a little while longer.
  20. Well I just found these two articles; the first one specifically mentions that the Ford employees beta testing is starting this week and is expected to run a month. With that said I don't think the chances of people seeing this upgrade by late January are likely. So I guess we'll all be waiting a bit longer. In this second article they also mention that people receiving the update will also receive an 1 year warranty extension.
  21. Do you have nav? I thought this feature was only for nav equipped vehicles. If you don't maybe that is why it is grayed out?
  22. That is basically our story too. Pretty much OK on 2.8 but 2.11 has been a nightmare. Newedgeforme...wasn't trying to imply you were making up your claims just can't fathom how some units seem OK with known buggy software and others on newer software crash just about daily. I think there must be a hardware issue, I don't see any other way to explain it. The issue then becomes is it hardware connected to MFT or the MFT itself. Akirby...I know some phones have issues staying paired but we had the same phoneon 2.8 and it worked pretty good, now 2.11 it is horrible. Phones have never been updated in this timeframe so the only change is the MFT software. Also while I could see certain phones causing problems I am not sure why they would also affect the audio, nav, etc.
  23. 1.8 and hardly any issues? How is that even possible? I really wonder if there are uunderlying hardware issues. Why else would some have seemingly OK systems on the same software where others have units that can barely keep from rebooting daily? As a side note...can you comment on your GPS position accuracy? Ours is regularly off byat least 50 feet most times it is 100-150' so in busy areas it can be difficult to be sure of the exit/road. I never had issues like this with TomTom's or Garmins. While I didn't expect this nav to be as customizable I did expect it to be accurate. Also have you seen that directions given vary based on direction of travel? Meaning that going to the destination it routes you differently than the return trip?
  24. Not quite true. While some issues may be phone/carrier related the majority are bugs in the system itself. For instance my wifes phone will pair 80% of the time on 2.11 it was around 98% on 2.8. But what I have noticed is that when there are issues with the phone there is something else going wrong with the software because soon enough everything goes to crap. Just this past weekend we started off and the MFT was working great, then after a restart we got our first reboot. Then crashed again after switching audio sources then seemed OK until we received a call and couldn't hear the other person. The next morning it was fine, like nothing happened but unfortunately returned to crashing the following day. So to your point from what I have seen and read hear it seems the issues with phones/carriers seems to be that some functions don't work properly like displaying contact photos.
