  1. Your dealer should have discussed this issue with Pirelli. If you still have the tire, I would contact Pirelli yourself.
  2. Very easy job but I'd grab the factory radio removal tool if the Metra kit doesn't include them. Just take your time wiring the connectors to the new head unit on a workbench and it should be plug and play. Wish all head unit swaps were as easy as this one!!!!
  3. Can't explain how adding HIDs to a 2011-2014 increases side lighting but it does. I noticed it big time on my night trips to the cabin in dear infested northern Michigan.
  4. Only one way to find out for sure.:):)
  5. I haven't had any PCM issues in the Taurus yet. Not sure about the PCM but I believe the 08-09 Taurus uses the same COPs as the Edge.
  6. I like running two relays cuz it lessons the odds of losing both headlights at the same time. I also carry my old halogen bulbs in the back. After market HID kits aren't known for their durability but I've been really lucky with my 6 year old cheap DDM kit.
  7. I drove my 2008 3.5 Taurus (75,000 miles) with bad coils for over a year. Finally got around to doing the three back coils and all the plugs and she's been running perfect for about 4 months. I'm guessing it would take quite while to damage coils with a bad PCM if it even works that way. I've always heard that bad coils can eventually damage a PCM but not the other way around.
  8. 1st thing I would do to a 11-14 is throw a 35/5000 hid kit in it. Hids work really well in those halogen projectors even though some people will tell you it's impossible. Just make sure to do it right with a nice waterproof harness that has two separate relays.
  9. Do you drive backwards and do a lot of city driving?:)
  10. I just changed the clear film on my 2011's headlights and they still look brand spankin new with zero chips. The old film looked horrible and I'm sure my headlights would be all chipped up if I hadn't used the film since new. I just wish I would have done the entire front end cuz the fake chrome grill looks like it's been through a sand blaster!!!!
  11. Some don't like digital gauges when it comes to reliability but these have proven very durable and accurate for me over the last 4 years. I keep one in each of my vehicles. https://www.sears.com/craftsman-programmable-digital-tire-gauge/p-02830048000P
  12. Not sure what's wrong but I'd highly recommend taking it to a dealership and having an extra key made. Once you have two working keys it's easy to order a cheap one on Ebay and program a 3rd.
  13. I was quoted $800.00 at a few trans shops. My 08 was showing all the signs of bad speed sensors including slamming gears in limp mode and the shudder under load but it ended up being COPs and/or spark plugs. I was 100% convinced it was a trans issue.
  14. I did this a few months ago at Discount Tire and ended up with a new set of Continental LX20's for $250.00 out the door. They gave me $200.00 total for my old set of Yoko YK580's plus there were a bunch of rebates at the time.. Had to hit a few different DT stores to get the best warranty amount for my old skins.

    Coolant loss

I would read some of the threads about 3.5 water pump failures. I think slow coolant loss might be a warning sign but, hopefully, your's is something different.
  16. Thanks! Got the TB cleaned, replaced all the plugs and put all new coil packs in the rear. Gonna drive it for a while and see if the "under load" miss is gone before replacing the front packs. At 75,000 miles all the plugs looked good but the gap was about .70 on all of them. Was kinda surprised how much torque it took to get the plugs out and the Coil pack electrical connection clips are definitely delicate. Had to get fancy with a couple zip ties after damaging one of them.
  17. Pulled the intake tonight on the old 2008 3.5 cuz I'm doing the Coil Packs and plugs tomorrow. Throttle body looks a little dirty so I better give it a cleaning. I really want to pull it but I didn't bring a new gasket up to the cabin with me where I'm doing this job. Anyone know if the TB gasket is reusable???
  18. Done my research and thinking about ordering this Motorcraft Coil Pack kit for my 08 3.5 Taurus (77,000). Not sure if this kit has the right plugs and UI gaskets for the Taurus but I know the coil packs are the right ones and they'll also work in my 2011 Edge. $150.00 seems like a heck of a deal for 6 coil packs, 6 plugs and the gaskets. Anyone order this kit for their 3.5 Edge???? Pretty sure the Taurus only has one bad pack but instead of trying to find it I'll just replace all of them. :) https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts/ford-kit-ba5z12259a
  19. If it won't "develop much power" it's probably in limp mode. Just disconnect the battery for a while. My 08 Taurus, which I believe has the same trans as your Edge, has bad trans speed sensors and will go into limp mode once in a while. Of course, none of this has anything to do with your stalling problem.
  20. It's actually humorous to see all the Fords on the road with peeling front emblems. Great way to advertise your brand!!!!!!!:)
  21. Pretty amazing how many miles you're getting out of the Edges!!! My 2011 just hit 100,000 and I'm thinking about keeping it cuz it's in beautiful condition and I still enjoy driving it. Only things I've done so far are brakes, brake booster (warranty), throttle body (warranty), sway bar links and battery. The only other other option that interests me is dumping around 34,000 on a low mile Lincoln MKX but that doesn't seem very smart at the moment .
  22. This may sound crazy but my rear defroster stopped working when my battery was getting weak in my 2011. Maybe it's some kind of protection that prevents using high drain accessories when the battery gets weak.
  23. I think I remember killing my parents lawn a few times with coolant so it'll probably make a great Round-up replacement!!!!:)
