  1. Thanks E but I think my 11 takes this one: https://www.amazon.com/Motorcraft-VC10A2-Anti-Freeze/dp/B008B5VBBS/ref=sr_1_2?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1529436039&sr=1-2&keywords=motorcraft+specialty+green+engine+coolant Still a good deal through Amazon so I'm gonna order a few for some drain and refills.
  2. Well, my nice beefy looking sway bar links I purchased on Ebay didn't workout so well. They only lasted about a year before they started clunking. Just slipped a pair of Moogs on the old Edge and all is quiet again.
  3. Just called the stealership to see if they have the specialty green in stock. The concentrate is $38.00 per gallon!!!! Was there ever any theories that a certain Ford coolant wasn't lubing the water pump bearings very well????? If Prestone or Zerex offer better lubrication I wouldn't mind making the switch. I'm way out of warranty.
  4. My 2011 came with Motorcraft Specialty Green Coolant. Would I be better off sticking with the Motorcraft or switching to something else????
  5. Might have been a nice ride but I thought it failed drastically in the looks department.
  6. My 11 SEL has been rock solid for 97,000 miles and I really can't think of anything bad to say about it. The stock speakers were horrible but easily replaced. Only things replaced so far were the brake booster and front sway bar links. Build quality was really good on the 11-14 Edges and I don't have any interior rattles yet.
  7. Yup, sounds like they need to bleed the brake system before throwing parts at her. Lots of Ford dealerships seem to start replacing parts before figuring out the real problem. Very unlikely the ABS Module happened to go Bye-Bye along with the booster.
  8. I've read on the inter-web that 303 makes wiper blades and tires last forever so it's gotta be true.:)
  9. Thanks for the ideas, I think I'll try a little graphite spray when I get a chance.
  10. I've had this problem for a long time but it seems to be getting worse. Sometimes when I remove the key from my 11 SEL it acts like the key is still in the ignition and gives me all the warnings. I have to reinsert and turn the key again to get it to stop. Anyone else experience this.
  11. I like having both a big sedan and SUV and have been extremely loyal to Ford for 30+ years. I'll be replacing my Taurus in the next few years and will probably take a good look at the Chevy Impala. I also like the looks of the new Traverse and will definitely test drive one. I've suffered from foreign vehicle nameplate allergies my whole life so I'll never go that route unless Ford and GM go DODO bird on me.
  12. Well, been living with this problem for 20,000 miles and, believe it or not, it seems to have fixed itself. Been over a week since I felt that very irritating hwy stutter. Really weird that it's gone but I'm not complaining.:)
  13. Looks like the color match is pretty good. How's the beam pattern on the 16-Present halogen projectors? Did you have to adjust them down at all?
  14. I agree with ya Wiz about losing loyal customers and future customers. I would guess a lot of F150 and Explorer owners started off with cheaper Ford sedans before they started making a better living and were able to afford a, very expensive, big truck or SUV. Now consumers will have to turn to other makers like GM for a decent affordable mid-sized sedan and will, more then likely, look to that particular brands truck and SUV offerings in the future. My brand loyalty to Ford started off with their inexpensive sedans like the Taurus and, as I started making more money, I started purchasing Explorers, F150's and Lincolns. I wonder what other manufacturer is gonna pickup most of the loyal Fusion/Taurus customers.
  15. Maybe it's just me but I still see just as many sedans on the road as trucks/SUVs. Instead of giving up on the sedan market Ford should try to get a bigger share of it by making better and more desirable vehicles. I'm gonna say that it's a big mistake to ignore the sedan market but I ain't no economist.
  16. I like the 35/5000 choice. Color could easily vary between Chinese manufacturers but Drivebright has a pretty good rep and may have tested colors from his source.
  17. I think there's also a color difference depending on how powerful your ballasts are. Higher wattage ballasts would make 6000K bulbs look more white I believe. I was thinking of changing my ballasts from 35 to 55 watts to take some of the blue out of my 5000's but I think bulb life goes Bye-Bye.
  18. If ya just want louder cleaner music I'd probably figure out a way to add a good 4 or 5 channel amp. A good 10 or 12 inch sub would go a long way too. It can be done pretty cheap if you do your research, are handy and find good deals on Ebay. Lots of fantastic older amps don't fetch much coin these days.
  19. I've fired mine up below zero many times in upper Michigan and Da UP without any problems. Mine are a 5 year old set 35 watt DDMs with a beefy harness. Probably be a good idea to post what brand you are using, wattage and if you're using a harness. Hids need some good power to fire and cold weather doesn't play nice with batteries. A nice solid power connection straight to the battery with at least 12 gauge wire and an equally sized ground cable might solve your problem. I remember having problems firing my ballasts when I first got them and finally figured out it was the cheap thin gauge e-bay harness causing the problem.
  20. I gotta agree with you on the looks, the 11-14 Edges are still great looking vehicles that look nothing like the latest batch of Cookie-cutter midsize SUVs. I like the direction Lincoln took with the MKX/Nautilus but the Edge definitely needs some design help in the next round.
  21. Then I'd definitely go with the clear film and do as much of the front end as you can. I really wish I would have done this to my 2011 when I got it. Funny thing is, there's no chips where a bug deflector would have protected the hood but the rest of the front end looks like it got sandblasted. I was smart enough to put a clear film on the headlights.
  22. Some feel, and are probably right, that it's a good idea to change coolant often in the 3.5 because of possible water pump bearing failure.
  23. I did all my interior, puddle and license plate lights with e-bay leds and have only had one failure in 5 years. One of the license plate leds kicked the bucket a few months ago but I purchased spares for all lights cuz I thought they wouldn't last this long.
  24. Many said the exact same thing about HIDs in the 11-14 Edge's halogen projectors . I haven't messed with LED headlight bulbs yet but it wouldn't surprise me if one comes along that works well in a halogen projector.
  25. I wouldn't change the sensors until you know they are causing your problem. My 08 Taurus (66,000 miles) has the same trans and started showing signs of bad sensors about 8 months ago. It actually went into limp-mode while on a 250 mile road trip but a quick battery disconnect and all was fine. Mine has a pretty good shudder under load while cruising down the freeway. If I don't hit the gas to drop down a gear is when I really feel it. Not sure if I'm gonna bother with the sensors unless symptoms get a lot worse. I'm eventually gonna get around to changing the plugs first to see if that makes any difference cuz I'm not totally convinced it's the tranny sensors yet.
