  1. Now that's cool lookin!!!!! You're bringing back two-tone with style!!!:)
  2. Let me know if you come up with a solution cuz I snapped mine off too while rewiring the power point. Like yours, mine still lights up but it's just hanging in there somewhere.

    Laptops

If ya don't really need Windows for anything, I would highly recommend doing some research on Chromebooks with the Android Playstore. I switched to Chromebooks just over 5 years ago and never looked back. I was really surprised how quickly I started reaching for that cheap Chromebook instead of my Windows laptop and it soon became my main computing device. I still have a few Windows lappys laying around but only turn them on a few times a year to keep up on those ridiculously long updates. I really like the security and zero maintenance that Chromebooks bring to the table.
  4. Even with perfect prep 845 never lasts as long for me as Zaino Z2 Pro or Duragloss 111/601 combo. I've done the half and half test quite a few times on the hoods of various vehicles and always get the same results. I know a lot of people put 845 over a good synthetic sealant but I've never tried that. 845 has a cult like following on detail forums but it just hasn't been that great for me. Living in Michigan causes me to wash my vehicles a lot which could very well be the difference maker. Maybe pure sealants hold up to frequent car washes better then Collinite.
  5. Thanks but I think it was a different thread. When I get a chance I'm gonna pull it and see if there's anything I can do to lift it up a little.
  6. 2011 SEL. I remember reading about this before but can't find any threads. The rear spoiler is sagging on the passenger side and I'm thinking about trying to fix it. Anyone remember what causes this and how to repair it?????
  7. This will make the biggest difference short of purchasing a different vehicle. I don't even think it's a big deal running them at 30-31. I think my 2011 SEL rides kinda stiff on 18's at 31 psi but I'm getting pretty old.
  8. So far the Continental Cross Contact LX-20's (245/60/R18) seem pretty good. They're really good looking, quite and ride just fine. They have a cool protruding lip around the rim that should do a pretty good job protecting expensive wheels from road rash. 35 psi always seems to wear out the crown prematurely on Edge's and MKX's so I'm gonna run these at 31 psi. I tried to keep the Yoko YK580's around 33 psi and they still had some serious crown wear at 40,000 miles. New skins always feel good so I'll try to keep some updates coming as the miles roll by. I'm in Michigan so I'll be using them in every road condition known to man.
  9. Getting them put on tomorrow and will post initial thoughts. I just about went with the new YK-HTX Yokos but ,after the wear and cracking of the Yoko YK580's at 40,000 miles , I decided to go with a different brand. I haven't messed with Continentals in many years but reviews of the LX-20's are pretty good. Been getting tires so cheap I guess I shouldn't complain about 40,000 mile life. It's kinda funny that I paid $284.00 for the set of YK580's 3 years ago and now they're giving me $200.00 in warranty money. :)
  10. Got a heck of a deal at Discount Tire's 4th of July sale this morning on a set of Continental LX-20's. Believe it or not, one of my local stores warrantied my old Yoko YK-580's for $50.00 per tire!!!! After all rebates, mounting/balancing, disposal and taxes my total out the door will end up being $253.00. The original price out the door for these tires was $690.00. Moral of the story is always ask if they can warranty your old tires if you purchased them at DT or DTD.

  12. So I was looking at the coolant chart you posted earlier. Is it the yellow coolant that doesn't provide proper protection? Looks like later models switched to Dark Green for a short time and then to Orange. My brother has a 2009 with the yellow and I was thinkin about letting him know about this.
  13. Thanks for posting Twist. I may go through this eventually with my 2011.
  14. I'm gonna end up getting about 45,000 out of my Yoko YK580's so I'm just starting to look for some new skins. DT has a decent 4th of July sale coming up and I've been eyeballing the Continental LX-20's? Anyone have any experience with them?
  15. According to the chart that E posted your 2007 should take the Gold coolant. I'd be half tempted to use a universal product from Zerex or Prestone if I was starting fresh. I think I remember high mileage boy (Mac) using a universal Zerex coolant in his Edges.
  16. That's a good point. The first time I did the brakes on my 2011 one of the outside pads was like brand new and the inside pad was almost gone. I remember posting about it on here. Maybe the person that inspected it didn't look at all the pads.
  17. I totally agree with ya and have always purchased my vehicles from American companies. Just about purchased a 4runner and a BMW years ago but just couldn't convince myself that it was OK to do. Kinda sad that China has a "Buy Chinese" campaign going and Americans gave up on "Buy American" a long time ago. Heck, I remember when you wouldn't dare park a Toyota in a Ford or Chevy plant parking lot.
  18. Thanks E but I think my 11 takes this one: https://www.amazon.com/Motorcraft-VC10A2-Anti-Freeze/dp/B008B5VBBS/ref=sr_1_2?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1529436039&sr=1-2&keywords=motorcraft+specialty+green+engine+coolant Still a good deal through Amazon so I'm gonna order a few for some drain and refills.
  19. Well, my nice beefy looking sway bar links I purchased on Ebay didn't workout so well. They only lasted about a year before they started clunking. Just slipped a pair of Moogs on the old Edge and all is quiet again.
  20. Just called the stealership to see if they have the specialty green in stock. The concentrate is $38.00 per gallon!!!! Was there ever any theories that a certain Ford coolant wasn't lubing the water pump bearings very well????? If Prestone or Zerex offer better lubrication I wouldn't mind making the switch. I'm way out of warranty.
  21. My 2011 came with Motorcraft Specialty Green Coolant. Would I be better off sticking with the Motorcraft or switching to something else????
  22. Might have been a nice ride but I thought it failed drastically in the looks department.
  23. My 11 SEL has been rock solid for 97,000 miles and I really can't think of anything bad to say about it. The stock speakers were horrible but easily replaced. Only things replaced so far were the brake booster and front sway bar links. Build quality was really good on the 11-14 Edges and I don't have any interior rattles yet.
  24. Yup, sounds like they need to bleed the brake system before throwing parts at her. Lots of Ford dealerships seem to start replacing parts before figuring out the real problem. Very unlikely the ABS Module happened to go Bye-Bye along with the booster.
  25. I've read on the inter-web that 303 makes wiper blades and tires last forever so it's gotta be true.:)
