  1. Lucky you caught him quick, you should have seen what they did to mine. I had to file an insurance claim!!!
  2. I haven't tried sleeping in my Edge yet but spent many night's sleeping in the back of 2 door Explores in the late 90's during the Salmon seasons. I would think a twin air mattress would be pretty comfy in the Edge but I'm not sure if it can handle 6 footers.
  3. Did you purchase them at Zalinsky Auto Parts?:)
  4. I've also been using Icons for a long time. Wally stopped carrying them and put them on clearance a few months ago. Picked up two sets for the Edge and two sets for the winter beater (2008 Taurus) for a buck each!!!:) I usually get 2-3 years out of them in Michigan.
  5. I have a DDM kit that's been going strong for about 6 years but I'd probably go with Morimoto today. Installation is really easy if ya just plug in a 35 watt set. Only thing ya gotta do is cut holes in the dust covers. My installation was more difficult because I built a dual relay waterproof harness which could explain the crazy durability I've gotten out of a cheap DDM kit. I've thought about switching over to a 55 watt kit which lots of members have installed over the years with good results. I'd definitely use a beefy harness if ya go with a 55 watt kit. Macs got a pretty good video of his HID install on Youtube. You usually need a bowl of popcorn and a few refreshments to make it through Macs videos but they're very well done.:)
  6. Even a 35 watt HID kit makes a huge difference in 2011-2014 Edges. I don't think swapping out the halogen bulbs can even come close. My $50.00 35/5000 HID kit was probably the best money I've spent on my Edge. They can be extremely durable if installed properly.
  7. Just hit the English Gardens store on Ford Road and put some flowers on top of it!!! :) Should cover Valentines day Too!!!
  8. My 2008 Taurus (65,000) needs the sensors replaced. I'm getting what feels like a slip in overdrive when under load on the highway. I've read that bad COP's or spark plugs could cause a miss which feels very similar so I'm gonna start with the plugs when it gets warmer out.
  9. Thanks Wizard!! Are you really a Wizard???:)
  10. Probably the same choice I would make today but I still have a set of $40.00 35/5000 DDM's in my 2011 that are still going strong after 5 years. I even purchased an extra set to have spare parts but haven't needed to use them yet. I am starting to wonder if I should change out the bulbs cuz I think I've read they dim over time. No matter what kit you go with, I would suggest a nice beefy waterproof harness with separate relays for durability and saftey reasons. It's also a good idea to keep your halogen bulbs in the vehicle just in case. It would kinda suck to lose your headlights during a long dark road trip.
  11. Man, if I was planning on getting 10 years out of a vehicle I think I'd go for another MKX. Pretty easy to justify the added cost over a 10 year period.
  12. Drove my Edge around today after giving it a full charge the other day. No more warning messages so my problem was definitely due to a low battery.
  13. Many moons ago my new 88 GT Mustang caught fire at a gas station. Fire department got there pretty quick and put out the engine fire but the insurance company ended up totaling it cuz most of the engine plastic and wiring harness was melted. Bought it from the insurance company for $500.00 and put it back together for another $500.00. Drove that puppy for another 2 years before I sold it. Fires can be quite profitable!!! :)
  14. I checked my new battery this morning and it was showing 12.4 volts which is definitely low. Again, this is a new 65 series Autocraft that's been sitting a lot in extremely cold temps. Looks like it's gonna take a while to get a full charge at 6 amps but I'll post if the warnings are still showing up. Really enjoying this 30 degree heatwave today!!!!:)
  15. I just started getting these messages today but it's been really cold and my 2011 Edge doesn't get driven much right now. Just got a new battery last month but haven't taken the time to give it a full charge yet. I'm pretty sure I've had a parasitic drain problem for a long time but have been able to live with it so far.
  16. I undercoat and rustproof all my vehicles. I only rustproof once but do touch up the undercoating every fall. 3M is the rustproofing spray I use and pretty much any rubberized undercoating will work if ya put it on thin.
  17. If ya have a 58/59 series battery in yours, try to get them to upgrade it to a 65 series. The 65 is quite a bit bigger and will fit in the battery tray just fine.
  18. It really looks like you purchased a bad battery which can happen. I'd run back and have them replace it. Not saying you don't have a parasitic battery drain problem just a bad battery. My 2011 SEL definitely has a parasitic drain issue but it usually never sits long enough to be a problem.
  19. 10.6 volts is way to low!!! Your new battery is toast or it's not getting charged. Resting voltage is 12.5 to 12.7 volts on a good battery.
  20. Gonna be interesting to see what they did with the body. I prefer the front end of the 2011-2014 and the back end of the 2015-present.
  21. Is this actually true??? Maybe all those guys who like super loud exhaust systems on their vehicles can now keep it to themselves in the cabin!!!:)
  22. The money you spend on all that 303 probably offsets any savings in tire longevity!!!!:) I no longer use 303 on my tires but still use it for interior detailing. Another fantastic product from 303 is their Fabric Guard. It's a great product that lasts well over a year on seating surfaces and puts Scotch Guard to shame.
  23. Battery was a group 59 Advance Auto Autocraft and was actually coming up on it's 3rd birthday. Took it in this morning and they swapped it out under warranty. Nice thing is they upgraded me to a group 65 850 CCA. Gotta like 3 year free replacement!!:) The positive battery clamp did fit nice and snug on this new battery.
  24. Funny, I just inherited a 2008 Taurus with 55,000 miles and did the H11 to H9 mod less then a month ago. Not a bad winter beater but it always feels good to get in my 11 Edge after driving the Taurus for a few days. One nice thing about the Bull is you could run over a dead body and wouldn't even know it (Very smooth!).
  25. Can't remember if my 2010's low beams were H11's or 9006's but ya get a significant bump in lumens by easily converting to H9's or 9005's. Wiring can handle the extra power with no problems. Conversion is just a little plastic tab trimming.
