  1. I think there is a relay for that too. I would make sure that's not toast.
  2. Maybe you should report that to ford. Sounds like a hardware problem. I've only had my edge for a couple months and I use the navigation all the time. I never have any issues. You need to make sure you have the A4 map ST card too.
  3. #1 2-Row Midsize SUV, and #5 SUV. http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/Best-Cars-for-the-Money/
  4. Isnt your edge still covered under a rust thru warranty?
  5. I agree that it should have better coverage in the door jambs in those pictures. I personally wouldnt bring it in to Ford to get resprayed. As long as the metal is covered with paint and clear and areas that I can see on an everday basis are covered well, it doesnt bother me. if it was like the picture with the hinge and primercoat was visible while entering the car then I would ask if they could make it right. But under the hood and in a area that would only be seen laying on the ground or after removing the door I wouldnt worry about. Ill shoot some pictures tonight of my paint work so you guys can see what mine looks like. My sister has a 2013 Hyundai Elantra(upgraded KIA) and I can see how thin they apply the paint. You can see the "clouding" of the metallic on a sunny day. That only happens when they dont apply enough basecoat. I think someone should take their Edge to Ford and see what they say.
  6. You guys are super picky. I'm super picky too but you gotta let it go. The paint is not perfect under the hood but i think that is sufficient coverage for a engine bay. You have to remember that your not driving a Bentley. I'll get you pictures when I can get some daylight without snow or rain to get some good shots. I wouldn't go to the dealer to ask them to fix it because it will probably be worse. As for the headliner mine is not like that.
  7. Ill take pictures of mine to show you guys mine is not like that. They probabbly coat the door jambs with one less coat of paint like they do the interior in order to save money. If they save a $100 per car that would add up fast. I would say the areas you speak of are as good a quality of paint work as everywhere else on the car. Maybe the color has something to do with it. I know that lighter colors are harder to paint because they dont cover as well.
  8. Where is this poor paint work? I was actually quite impressed with the paint. Especially in the doorways and jambs. Even the engine compartment is shiny. My 2004 Escape has thin paint work in the engine bay and on the jambs of the rear hatch. The Cinnamon metallic on my Edge is shiny and heavy coated everywhere I look.
  9. Well my 2012 is almost at 5K lol., But I bought mine because a sales rep. that visits my store has an 07 AWD with over 300K , but he just replaced his transmission. He carries 500+ lbs of of samples all the time too. He told me that he always followed the severe use maintenence schedule.
  10. it will seek if you hold the button for a 1,2 count.
  11. Ive never seen it say that much mileage to empty.
  12. Do all the Edges have the hood insulator? I know on my Ford Escape it had it too but I know Ford didnt use them in all the models.
  13. Mine works. I dont think it turns on until the engine heats up. I would set the auto start to 10 minutes. My heated seats turn on too, but when I hit the Push to start button I have to turn them on again manually. I get in my Edge with hot seats and heat going. But mine is a factory installed with push button start.
  14. My OEM HIDs are a tad shaky too. but only on jarring bumps. I agree that it is because you have more of bright cutoff line on the HIDs than halogen.
  15. I will let you know my hood paint is great underneath. Well as much as you can see since there is black insulation covering 90% of it.
  16. I'm going to do like I did with my Escape and change the fluid every 30k along with the PTU every 15k-20k. Especially with the PTU's I think the thickening of the oil probably contributes to the bad seals. I had 150K on my Escape and it had absolutely no tranny issues.
  17. Hey, mine is the same way. I bet there is a little wiggle room during assembly. Mine almost touches on the passenger side and is gapped on the driverside. I think you could probably play with the console and get it to line up perfect. I'm not going to worry about it since I'll never see it. Here is mine
  18. Looks like they need to shim that center console or lower the dash. That is bad. They must have removed that console to fix something and didnt put it back correctly or someone at the assembly line should be fired. I found a couple things like that with mine too. Worst one was the passenger rear door chome weather strip that rubs the glass was not snapped in correctly. It was gapped from the glass a 1/4 inch. I just removed the two screws holding it on, which was a 2 minute job. Then reinstalled it correctly. I also have the lower driverside running board that is a 1/4inch lower in the rear. I noticed it when washing the car. The bottom of the door looks crooked, but it's just the rocker panel. I think it needs to be loosened up and brought tighter to the body.
  19. If I don't sell mine on the Escape-city forum I will end up getting a few tunes for my Edge.
  20. i have a SCT tuner from Torrie from Fast Parts Network. I used it i on my 2004 Escape with the 3.0 duratec and I had very good luck with it. I ran it in performance 87octane for almost 75k. sometimes in Towing and Economy. He helped me with a detonation issue in performance tune and he tweaked the tune which fixed the issue. I did notice more consistent power and better shifting with same or better mpg in Performance tune.
  21. Todd, After inspection today, they have the weather striping on order along with the front Ford emblem. They also fixed my slow moving Vista Roof(lubed up i think). It opens and closes like it should. I have an appointment for next Monday for the new weather stripping to be installed along with the emblem.
  22. The Edge Sport has 22" wheels and that puts too much strain on the drive train. The Lincoln and Edge come with 18" and 20" wheels. Also 17" wheels on the base model.
  23. Definitely a classy ride. I think of the Edge as a sportier SUV while the Lincoln is a luxury SUV.
