  1. I put expensive EBC Greenstuff pads and rotors on my Escape a few years back. We has this winter that was snow/Salt mix on the road 50% of the time. I always wash my car down(under carriage, wheels brakes etc. All within a day of the roads drying up. Well that winter I tried my hardest to keep the car clean. But my brakes and rotors completely rotted. I had to replace them with less than 20,000 mile on them. My set before that lasted 80K! So salted roads and heavy wheels(Sports have heavy 22's) can do some serious damage. I would do both rotors and both sets of pads to keep everything equal. If you clean off the wheels and brakes with fresh water after getting soaked with salt water it should give your brakes a longer life.(Maybe).
  2. Tell them if you get into an accident with the poor brake job you will sue them and you want them to replace any parts with new parts. No turning rotors! New rotors, new pads, bleed the lines with new fluid. new master cylinder and booster( if it needs booster and cylinder). You want a credit for the other jobs that they botched. And apply that to the new pads, rotors, labor etc that will be needed to do the job correct. If there is air in the ABS unit that would cause poor breaking and if the calipers were pressed back wrong and are sticking that would cause glazing and poor breaking too.
  3. You need to take your car to another mechanic or dealer. It is not a problem with the car it's a problem with the servicing dealer. Any qualified mechanic should be able to replace brakes and bleed them properly. If they cannot diagnose the problem correctly tell them you need your money back. Because the dealer sucks doesn't make the car a lemon.
  4. If you Edge didn't come with Navigation then it wont work no matter what you do. You'll be able to tell if it came with it because without the card the right screen in the gauge cluster will show an error for the Navigation if it come programmed with Navigation. And if the MFT screen will say "Compass" in the right upper corner if your Edge didn't come with it as factory. Sorry wish it was that easy.
  5. I would choose a color for your survey, but I have Cinnamon Metallic, with Medium/Dark Stone Leather Interior.
  6. I haven't had any issues yet and I have used it every morning since the I bought it in mid January. You should get really close to the car and lock the doors with the fob then hit the start button twice to see how consistent the starting is at close range. There may be something wrong with the key fob. If you hear the door lock you'll know the lock button works. You should have ford get you new keys. that way you can eliminate the key as the problem.
  7. So I know that the rear spoiler has changed from 06-10 to the 2011+ because they moved the sat. antenna. But I noticed today while driving behind a 2011+ SE that the rear spoiler was different than my Limited 2012. I noticed a difference in shape of the underneath area that is matte black. The main difference is that the third brake light is recessed on my 2012 while the other Edges light protruded out more and that's why the shape underneath was different. Anyone know when they made the change? Is it different on different trims?
  8. Could be a bad antenna. Your antenna is on the rear spoiler. I think Ford moved the antenna in 2011+ to combine it with the AM/FM one instead of having one in the front and one in the back.
  9. So what is the deal with 2011+ im assuming we can do the same
  10. I just need an address and phone number and I'll get you his info.
  11. i just used a hair blow dryer. I hate all that swag they put on the car I had one decal on the rear that was 9"x9" thats huge. It also had both front and rear licence plate frames with their info on it. Oh I had a little bit of residue that I removed with Meguiars paint cleaner. Then I waxed the area.
  12. That is a great deal. Would you mind if I posted that offer on another forum?
  13. I must have the only Edge with good paint. I have no rust yet. I was looking at the bottom of the hood and noticed the rubber weather striping that makes contact with the entire edge of the hood on all four sides. That alone traps the moisture from rain up against the pinch seams. I was looking at it and thought to myself that will rust.
  14. Just putting this out there. I've been poking around here for a few months and noticed that people have sold whole sets for $500-$800. Maybe consider selling the wheel for less money if you can.
  15. you should list these for sale on Escape - City.com because I had them on my Escape and I had a lot of people PM me trying to buy them off me.
  16. I've had this on another car and it was the heat shield touching the exhaust. All I needed to do was push on it so that it was bent a little more out of the way.
  17. Haha I bought my 2012 limited In January an I was the first owner too. Two years old. They sell those moldings color matched at the dealer?

  19. I forgot to say that if the edge is wired like the escape the power wire is always on. And the ground is what is controlled by the switch. So that could explain the reason you still have power. I think it's called "ground switched".
