I have a Hitch for my Edge and all that shows is the box reciever and the power outlet. I installed it myself and it wasn't too bad to do. You will have to drop the muffler off the holders and trim some of the heat shields. Curt makes a special hitch for the sport that is about 1 inch lower than mine. I would recommend it because it is low profile and looks stock.

Edge HP is actually 285hp after 2011.

cool. they are the best on the market. I just hope I never loose the key. The good thing that they give you a sticker with the key lock number to order a new key if you loose it.

Im telling you that Colorbond product is amazing and is a perfect match. It is not paint but a dye coating and will last and look as good as factory. -
Wiring for Paddle Shifters - Sport & non-Sport
CinnamonEdge replied to omar302's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
the paddles operate off the same wiring as the console thumb shift button. I would bet you there is a loose harness under the dash and you can unplug from the console shifer and plug into the paddle shifters. Too bad we don't have a wire diagram. -
Renewing 07 Tan panel

You need COLORBOND. Ive used it on vinyl and leather and its amazing. It dries in 15 minutes. I did my leather steering wheel and leather driverseat in my Escape and it held up better than the factory leather. Had it for 4 years and it showed now wear and tear. They match your interior colors using a color chart on their site. I will post pictures when I get a chance and good luck. http://www.colorbondpaint.com/ -
I have noticed a small bubble in the passenger side window glass near the Ford logo. I seems to have developed recently. Ohh BTW my Edge is a 2012 Limited with the double laminated side glass. It doesn't bother me because it is only 3/4inch wide by 1/8th tall and its barely noticeable near the writing on the glass. What would you do?

I be you the cap from the 18" non chrome clad wheels would fit. I think it is slightly smaller in diameter. Otherwise I would use clear silicone that way they can be removed at a later date for changing tires and such.

Just purchased a used 2013 Limited, Pulls to the right all the time.

You'll have good luck with the rental. My wife's last car made it to 200k and my Ford Escape was perfect until i sold it with 155k and both were previous rentals. Get the brake pads changed and make sure they clean and lube the slides on the calipers. Pulling can also be caused by a hung caliper. If the piston on the caliper is not retracting and is jambed it could cause pulling to the side of the damaged caliper. So also check that out. if that is not the case then I would get an alignment on the car. and see if that is the problem -
Ive been waiting to see if someone would do this. A wire wheel on a dremel would remove that adhesive with minimal damage to the wheel. I would use a blade to remove the glue off the spokes. That wheel actually looks nice. Well if my wheels get messed up I know what to do. That is going to look sweet on your edge. Good luck. Post some pictures once they are done.

Chrome grille starting to get cloudy/oxidized in one spot
CinnamonEdge replied to CinnamonEdge's topic in Exterior & Body
So Ford DENIED my claim. Pretty pissed off right now. I have had the car for 6 months and already had all the weather striping changed under warranty. They had to replace my emblem because of corrosion. Now they are denying my claim on a $50.00 chrome piece that will get stained and cloudy by rain water. So I guess I shouldnt drive in the rain. My Edge has under 9k miles and I'm not a happy person right now. -
What Edge Trim Level Did You Choose and Why

Chrome grille starting to get cloudy/oxidized in one spot
CinnamonEdge replied to CinnamonEdge's topic in Exterior & Body
Unfortunately it's the top piece directly under the hood that flows into the head lights. Im going to plastic dip the grille this fall in preparation for winter sand and salt. But the chrome at lip of the hood looks funny black because the rest of my limited has so much chrome. -
Chrome grille starting to get cloudy/oxidized in one spot

I went to Tasca Ford today and the body shop man said that the grille is not defective and that road salt dripping off the hood must have caused it or something dripped on it. I was kinda upset so they took some pictures and will submit them to Ford. I just bought the Edge in January and it only has 8K miles on the odometer. I always keep it clean and waxed. Even if it was road salt it shouldn't corrode after one winter! I guess everyother Edge must have the same issue then. We will see what happens. A little bit P.O.'d. -
I'm not sure how many miles you have but it could be a wheels bearing.

Identify this part on my wife's edge.
CinnamonEdge replied to mjbaker84's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Is yours broken? If it is just scratched I recommend using Krylon Fusion Plastic Paint- color: Nickel Shimmer. It is almost a perfect match for Ford silver trim. -
Sync Scheduled Maintenance ?
CinnamonEdge replied to Tacyon's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I know there were some issues with Ford Escape horns getting funky so that may be the horn going bad. I think the edge horn sound nice. I had a Ford Escape in the past and my battery was like yours ready to croak and my electronics would act all funky too. I bet you the MFT system voltage was so low that it reset. Just like when you loose your radio presets on a dead or almost dead battery. Maybe the autostarter was charging the system enough that when you got in your car the voltage was high when the MFT booted. Verses starting it in the car with low voltage from cold battery. Hope it's all resolved. -
BTW Mike are you the actor or just have the same name? Anyway you can get a SCT tuner from Fastpartsnetwork.com Torrie makes tunes that he can customize for your particular set up. It costs about 400 for the tuner and you'll get 3 tunes. He can make up to ten tunes per tuner. The best part is that it take 5 minutes to tune the car or bring it back to stock.

im interested I sent you a Private message.

I know you said no chips but, any road salt/sand damage?

If you get it replaced make sure you ask them if they can install the newer style plastic tank. They may say it wont fit blah blah blah. My 2012 Edge came with a plastic tank.
