  1. It is important to do these modifications properly. You don't just copy a line from someone else and put it in, especially its if from a different vehicle line. You have to be aware of the change which is usually only one byte. When you understand what needs to be changed you compare it to your original line and change just that one item up or down by the change that was made on what you were looking at. Some bytes control multiple features and not just single items.
  2. You should send me what you changed then as well to make sure it was done properly.
  3. Never experienced that. The double horn honk delete I pioneered was for when you exit the vehicle with it running and have the fob on your possession and you close the door.
  4. It should never honk when you leave the fob in the vehicle with it running.
  5. Looks like that needs to be repainted or replaced.
  6. Pull the fuse for the LED signature lights if you don't like them.
  7. Are you replacing the entire puddle lamp or just the bulb itself. If you are doing just the bulb....the puddle lamp is a sealed unit. You have to dremel or use another means to get the lens off.
  8. Took a drive today and enabling and disabling the autolock with the added menu does work...confirmed. Also just tested the RELOCK settings and that too is fully functional (turning it off and on).
  9. Not with forscan but same principal...manual manipulation of the build data. The settings are different depending on the sub model.
  10. They just snap in place, have to get to the release tabs from the back side. Whether you have to take the bumper cover off, I can't say for sure.
  11. From what I have heard the update is ready...its the carplay USB that is the hold up. The update should be released so those with Android Auto can use it. I am not one that would use AA by the way, I just don't think its fair to withhold it based on the Carplay USB hubs not being ready to be released yet (they have to stock them).
  12. Wow. Great quality. I would have assumed it was all hooked up but guess not. Jeez
  13. If the fuse is good that is all the end user can check for. Sounds like a dealer visit to me.
  14. So you can access all the vehicle modules and read and write to them with no issues?

  16. Using the horn is the simple solution without having to do additional hardware and software additions. My guess would be in a full vehicle re-design you will see something less subtle. Ford basically has a few vehicle programming platforms and without a redesign you likely won't see a change. The current Edge electrical platform has been in use since at least 2013.
  17. Yeah I don't think it is software related either but surprises do happen. What concerns me is how does the switchback operate? The OEM bulb is single filament which would dictate power and ground. Guessing the parking light function is sent a lower voltage and the turn signal at a higher voltage. I didn't use a switchback LED in mine and have no issues. I am just thinking things out loud at this point. I would test the wiring for the bulb socket and compare that to how the LED is supposed to function?
  18. It does use a single filament bulb. What LED are you using? I just checked my 16 and do not have the pulsating while the vehicle is running. Is it actually doing this that you can see with the naked eye or just the video?
  19. It was in the news a while back about why vehicles these days have this "safety" feature. It is because there have been a few instances of people getting home or whatever and inadvertently leaving their push button start vehicle running in the garage. The alert (double horn honk) is to say hey...you left your car running, don't kill yourself from carbon monoxide poisoning. This was more prevalent in hybrid vehicles as the operator doesn't realize they left the car on (no running engine) but then the vehicle says hey the battery is low I need to start the gas engine to charge it and now you have real problem. It would not surprise me to find this as a mandate in the future if it isn't already. My personal opinion...money hungry lawsuits are driving the reason for having it.

    Hit and Run Driver

Most states have owner liability laws. If yours does the owner can be charged unless they turn over who the driver was.
