  1. I thought of the same thing but was looking for a direct replacement. The edge is the only one that has a self contained bezel that houses the liftgate release that I know of. I actually have a 16 Explorer headlamp switch laying here and was going to test it anyway so no time like the present. I messed with trying to take the headlamp assembly apart but really don't feel like ruining anything. Got to the point where I need to take off the "ring" around the lamp logos but it doesn't want to seem to come off.
  2. I am wondering if anyone has seen this switch in the foreign market Edge's at all? Trying to pull a part # for it. I did a couple hours of searching last night and didn't come up with anything solid. I know others have played with and installed fogs but I am looking to make it totally OEM in appearance by using the proper headlamp switch and having the fog lamp indicator in the IPC functional. Thanks
  3. All 17 models will ship with AA/Carplay. That has nothing to do with the "connect" portion of the system. Connect is additional hardware including a TCU and TCU antenna. TCU=Telematics Control Unit (a 4g cell modem) which allows remote start/lock/unlock and vehicle data to be accessed via the FordPass app. Connect is currently only available on a few 17 models but not all. I would have thought late production 17s would be getting it but I guess not.
  4. Not sure if you have rectified this but I can help with the diagram or in my case, I added LED turn signals and disable the bulb outage detection (hyper-flash) via software programming of the vehicle.
  5. Did I miss it or does the guide say nothing about SYNC3 Connect? It just says SYNC3 that I can find.
  6. Chances are the screen will support it...its just activating it and wiring it. You can go aftermarket camera too if you want. A lot cheaper.
  7. There is no need to pull the assembly forward as the instructions say. Just start at the rear corner and start pulling up. Pops right out then.
  8. The 1.1 update is for all nav and non nav SYNC3 1.0 units. Unfortunately there are no release notes other than "This software release is the latest update in our continued efforts to improve system performance, device connectivity, and the overall SYNC experience. This software contains all previous enhancements, so there is no need to install any other updates."
  9. Send me your VIN. I can look up the reported software version as Ford has it. If its not up to date I will send you info on how to get the update.
  10. I edited my post as you were typing away I guess
  11. It is a dealer only upgrade. I should add, don't ask me why only the dealer has access it. Doesn't make sense but that falls perfectly in line with everything else Ford does related to SYNC Its one of the first things I did when I bought mine.
  12. There is a minor dealer only update to the system that has been out for a while. It is version 1.1 so if you are at 1.0 perhaps updating would correct some of the issues you guys are having...that is a guess not a guarantee.
  13. Any chance of editing the pics and circling the area on the "frame" and the headlamp itself where you are talking that it clips? Thanks
  14. Glad I am not the only one. Ill try again tomorrow. As long as I can get them out I am ordering LED turn signal bulbs for it.
  15. Thanks ill try pulling forward harder then, lol. Playing with the programming for lamp outage detection and LED lighting.
  16. The owner's manual says to remove the three screws/bolts that hold the headlamp assembly in, then pull forward to disengage and then up to remove the entire headlamp assembly. The service manual says to remove the bumper cover then remove the headlamp assembly. Anyone have luck with what the owner's manual says? I didn't want to pull forward on the assembly that hard. Don't want to remove the bumper cover. Thanks
  17. Its really simple what caused the issue...Ford opted to separate the non nav from nav updates as before they all got the nav update package. Problem is they have linked the wrong install package to some nav equipped vehicles. The download is done by VIN. So you update your nav equipped vehicle but the "wrong" update package doesn't have the NAV application thus you lose nav.
  18. Bought a full kit of splash guards and come to find out the rears don't fit the Sport. Anyone looking for these for the 15/16 Edge NON SPORT feel free to contact me. Looking at $45 shipped within USA via USPS. Part #FT4Z-16A550-BA. My loss, your gain. Again this is just the rears. Thanks Jason
  19. Yeah it appears the correct one is on extended back order with no release date.
  20. Software updates are included in 12M02 for 5 years/unlimited mileage. The catch is it has to be an upgrade, not fix a botched update which is complete BS. I know for a fact that some users with OEM NAV have been updated with the non nav package when downloading from the owner site...guess what, nav goes bye bye. Thats a Ford problem, not a user mishap.
  21. Unfortunately the correct USB hub did not show up.
  22. If it didn't come from the factory with NAV you won't get any support from Ford on fixing it. If provide your VIN I can look up whether it came with it and also the reported history of sync updates.
  23. I may have talked too soon. I checked the info for 15/16. Noticed you have a 13. There is no specific part for just the turn signal in the mirror and I pulled the service manual and diagnostic testing says if the signal in the mirror is found to be defective....replace the mirror. How stupid is that!
