  1. I wash my vehicles just as the sun is setting. I use a cheap electric blower bought from walmart to blow the big water off first. The glass top, mirrors, grill, tail lights etc. Then i final dry with a chamois. I have bad dreams about 'water spots' so i make sure i don't have any
  2. I agree. I ran a couple tanks of 93 octane 0 ethanol 100% pure gas from a no name gas station and saw 0 performance and 0 mpg gain in my Mustang . I told them if I ever found out they weren't selling pure gas, I would take 'legal action' against them. Six months later they didn't have the big sign stating '100% pure gas' in front of the store . I'll just stick with the 'top tier' gas, even if its up to 10% ethanol
  3. I use 87 octane ethanol free (EXxon) gas in my boat. It cost around 10 cents a gallon more than the 93 octane with up to 10% ethanol gas (same gas station) I use in my Mustang
  4. This is why i 'only use' top tier gas. My local grocery store gives discounts for the gas they sell, i tell them "I wouldn't use their gas in my lawn mower".
  5. This Thread reminds me of the Mustang Forums (9 of them) I'm on. People complaining about their 'Base Model' Mustang not having the features of a 'fully loaded' Mustang
  6. Years ago when i would buy a used high mileage vehicle. I would use the 6 month method, this is my own personal idea I came up with. I would take what that vehicle would cost 'new' with a loan. Times the monthly payment by 6, that would be the price I would pay 'cash' for the vehicle. If the vehicle lasted over 6 months, I could say "I've got my moneys worth" on the vehicle If this makes any sense I really depends on how much you are going to pay for it.
  7. Last time I checked a throttle body cost around $65. You can change it in 30 minutes yourself. Should be lots of youtube videos on how to do it. If you have a 2011-2012 there is a Customer Satisfaction Program 16B23 that your Edge may be covered under. My local Ford dealer did my 2011 3.7L Mustang for free of charge
  8. It's suggested to drop the pan and change the filter for the first flush because of the break in of new parts. I watched them doing it and they showed me the pan when it was dropped. The filter looked pretty clean but was changed anyway. What was very dirty was the magnet that sits in the bottom of the pan. It looked like it was covered with 'graphite'. It was cleaned off and put back in the pan. They told me this was normal, they also told me the next time they will just flush the transmission without changing the filter or dropping the pan. This was done to my Mustang at 20,000 miles
  9. The 2014 Edge we bought is my wife's vehicle, she named her 'Pearl' because of the color. My 2011 Mustang is named 'Little Red' because of his color. My 1991 F150 4X4 (almost mint condition with 59,000 miles) His name is 'The Truck', because he is a truck. I have named every vehicle I have ever owned.
  10. Your dealers must not be up to date on their machines. I had the pan dropped and filter changed and low pressure fill and flush done for $199 on my automatic transmission Mustang at my local Ford dealer. I have read a lot of people using the 'chain' transmission shops that offer low pressure transmission flushes for around $150. I would check around and talk to other Ford dealers to see what they have to say about it
  11. When i was a child in the 1960's we could always tell when we saw a 2 or 3 years old car with rust holes in the body, we knew that car was from Ohio or Michigan That is a lot of rust for a 2014
  12. Ford puts crap for shocks and struts on all their vehicles. The Monroe shocks and struts your talking about should be a lot better than the factory ones
  13. I must add: I was the first person to have the letter from Ford about the 16B23 replacement of the throttle body done by my local Ford dealer. He checked on their computer to learn what it was all about. You can also go to your Ford Owner web site, it also showed my Mustang was affected by the 16B23 throttle body replacement.
  14. Had my 2011 3.7L Mustang's throttle body replaced under this Customer Satisfaction Program 16B23. Took all of 30 minutes for the dealer to change it. My old one was working perfect at 26,000 miles. I hope our 2014 3.5l Edge doesn't have this, I think it will be OK.
  15. Yes, you should join the F150 Forum. Its got a large amount of members Ford F150 Forum - Community of Ford Truck Fans.
  16. You'll love your F150. I have a Mustang, Edge Limited (wife's) and a 1991 F150 4X4. I swear the 1991 F150 (59,000 actual miles) 4X4 rides the smoothest of them all
  17. My 2011 Mustang that i've has since May 2010 still has the Vehicle Health report. Just saying.......
  18. We bought our 2014 Edge Limited, new a couple years ago. It is my wife's but also our traveling car. I have a Mustang and an F150
  19. A couple years ago when i bought my wife her 2014 Edge Limited the power lift gate would touch the roof of our carport. I looked in the owners manual and found nothing on how to adjust the height. Since this is the only place she goes where she has to worry about the lift gate hitting anything, I glued a nice soft rubber mat to the area of the carport roof. That was a couple years ago and its still working great.
  20. I had a hitch and wiring done at my local u-haul. I think it was $400 something. I don't need the other things because my boat only weighs 1,200 LBS and only have to drive 10 miles round trip to the lake. Call your dealer, they can add everything you'll need and give you an estimate on the cost
  21. sorry i can't help you, post back and tell us what your dealer does to fix your Edge
  22. My wifes 2014 Edge Limited. Looks like a lot of Mustang people here . This is my 2011 and my 1991 F150 with 58,000 miles.
  23. The SD card comes 'free of charge' with the Edge's who have the navigation. When i bought our 2013 Limited and traded for our 2014 Limited, each time the first thing our dealer did was load the maps for the navigation. If our Edge didn't come with the SD card, i sure would be asking the dealer where it was. I 'think' the SD card with the maps cost around $199 or maybe more. I wouldn't want to pay $60 a year for something that is free. Just saying......
  24. Sorry to read everyone's problems with your gas tanks. My 2011 Mustang has a plastic gas tank. I checked our 2014 Edge, it also has a plastic gas tank. I wonder if the hold up from Ford is, the replacements are going to be made out of plastic? I really don't see Ford replacing metal tanks with metal ones. Just a thought i had
  25. The 'chrome clad' 20 inch wheels are total crap. The chrome flakes, bubbles and falls off. When our Edge is paid off we're going to replace them with 19 or 20 inch polished aluminum wheels. Also, the Edge doesn't handle no where near like a Mustang....
