  1. It must be a common thing to happen. When I was installing the new switch, it would not go into the holes. I looked and noticed one of the old part legs had broken off and was in the hole. I gave it a couple hits and the old post fell out. I didn't give it much thought but like I said, it might be a common thing to happen
  2. It happened with my wife. We have the push button start on our edge. She told me when she pushed the button to start the engine, 'all' the dash light came on with some flashing and all kind of clicking sounds started. She had to get a jump start and dove the Edge to our local Ford dealer. They told her it was the battery and we let them replace it for $140 something dollars. Your problem could be something else but newer Fords have strange things happen to them when the battery starts going bad. My 2011 Mustang battery started going bad. It would start but had the dash lights coming on and flashing the same warnings your Edge is.
  3. Our 2014 Edge Limited did almost the same thing your Edge is doing. Replaced the battery and all is fine......
  4. I'm happy people are finding this Thread and saving a lot of money. I did our $5.02 switch over a year ago, and still working perfect.
  5. If you are following all the steps stated in the owners manual, I would let your local Ford dealer take a look at it. If you own the code reader you are using to reset the code and the code doesn't come back until the next time you tow your Edge, I wouldn't worry about and just reset it after towing.
  6. Like TheWizard said, take it to another Ford dealer and see what they have to say.
  7. I'm going to continue to use Mobil 1 motor oil in all my vehicles even after you said it is the worst
  8. I'm not trying to be a smart ass but your posting something that was posted at post #1 of this Thread 15 months ago.
  9. In post #1 of this Thread it says the colors don't match. I did what post #1 said to do and didn't have any problems figuring out the wiring colors. Just saying....
  10. Great! Ford is buying the $5.02 switch and selling it 'on sale' for $16 . My $5.02 switch has been working 'perfect' for over 6 months
  11. All I know is, I tried to blow up my Mom's John Deere for 5 years. My Dad mowed with it for 6 years before he passed away . I ran it hard, hoping it would give out. I finally had to tell my Mom, "I'm too old (64 years old) and can't mow her almost 3 acre yard anymore". Now she has a mowing crew doing it but the John Deere is still running, but 'not' being used by the mowing crew.
  12. Read this link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Duratec_engine, it will tell you the history. Someone did a dyno test on the 3.7L Mustang, comparing 87 octane with 93 octane gas. 93 octane produced 7 more horsepower to the wheels than 87 octane. Sensors will 'automatically' adjust the timing when you use a higher or lower octane gas. I 'think' for many years Ford's owner manuals have stated to use premium gas for better performance.
  13. The 3.5 is a very good motor. The EcoBoost is the future of Ford, the car salesmen are pushing the EcoBoost to their customers. I refused it on our 2013 and when we traded to our 2014, I refused it again. I only have a 15 foot runabout boat with a 70 hp motor, with the trailer can't weigh much more than 1,200 LBS. I can't even feel it when I tow it with our 3.5L Edge.
  14. I read it on the F150 Forum I'm on. The person might have been talking about the rotary shift knob feels fine in his Fusion or maybe his Expedition. I can't find the 'post' I read this. I 'bet' it (rotary shift knob) will be coming to a lot of other Ford models in the next few years.
  15. I like the looks of it in everyway. The rotary shift knob is well liked with people who have it on their F-150's. I bet this thing will cost a pretty penny
  16. Did you buy your Edge 'new' and the first owner?
  17. I use an electric leaf blower I bought from Walmart for $30. This is good enough to blow out the water from the Grille and the mirrors. After blowing the big water off I finish drying with a chamois. Just saying.....
  18. I bet its chassis or body flex. If you were to have a nice 'frame rail to frame rail' trailer hitch installed it would 'fix' your problem. Just something to think about
  19. Every body shop I've dealt with (friends, family and me) has a 'life time' warranty on what they do. Paint, corrosion and fit. Can't ask for a better deal than that
  20. 303 is good stuff, but there is no way it will make your tires last 150,000 miles.
