  1. I picked up the leaf blower l linked above and it is a bit smaller than I thought it would be, but that may make it easier to use. I expect to put it to good use as soon as the ice & snow piled up here on the streets and the resultant road salt have have gone away.
  2. This might be a good thread to talk about "battery life / service". I am a big believer in using a Battery Tender (float charger) type product for occasional battery "top off's". If my Edge has gone more than a couple of days without being driven I hook up the charger via the supplied quick connect and charge it overnight. Having several vehicles I have found that this practice extends my battery life cycle and has so far prevented "no start" issues. I know that many won't think this would work for them, but I have noticed that my Edge will be on my float charger for a full 14 hrs or so before the battery is indicated as fully charged even after driving it. I suspect that these newer gen. cars consume a lot more power while in a static mode than we realize. I any case four7bird, I hope you get your situation squared away and let us know if you needed a new battery or just a full battery recharge.
  3. Noted, but I think (if the past is any guide) I'll be the biggest miscreant that my Edge will need to be concerned about. That, and any "other" misdirected deer that happens to come its way.
  4. I went up to HD and spent the big buck ( ) on a small blower. I'll let you know how it does. It's so cheap my local store does not even stock it so I ordered it on their online site. http://www.homedepot.com/p/PRO-SERIES-114-mph-110-CFM-Electric-Mighty-Pro-Leaf-Blower-PS07424/203024220
  5. Here is the ongoing thread about speaker replacement. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/20164-anyone-replace-their-sony-speakers/ Looks like replacing the front speakers (using Focals) is the way to go. Not cheap if you use an audio shop, but based on other's comments, "a real improvement".
  6. Do any of you use some form of air blower (leaf or other) to dry your car after washing? If so, what do you use and are there any tricks or concerns in using it?
  7. For what it is worth, mine has been "noise free from delivery until today". It might be the luck of the draw, but I had a bad feeling about that moon roof from jump street. I guess I just felt that cutting a hole in a perfectly good roof and slipping in a large piece of sliding glass was just asking for trouble. Based on your and other's comments, it is.
  8. You might be right, but the centered ones sure look good on the GT. They clearcoat the stripes on the GT, and if I recall correctly on the last gen. cars that option was 5K. Pretty steep! "The Boss" get's the first one and I don't mean Bruce... http://www.autonews.com/article/20161216/OEM04/161219884/first-limited-run-2017-ford-gt----bill-fords----rolls-off-assembly
  9. Now that's a photoshop job if I ever heard of one. I don't have a great deal of interest in striping mine, but would be interested in seeing what it would look like if it were to have that addition. No photoshoper's here?
  10. This thread probably should be in the mods sub-forum, but to me it is an appearance item. An item that I am sure will draw a fair amount of criticism if not condemnation, but should be an interesting topic of conversation. I aim this item at a fully lowered (when kit is made available) and fully performance moded Sport Edge. I am in hopes that someone can Photoshop this striping configuration over to an Edge just so we can see if "it works" or not. Look at this idea as a way to pay homage to the new Ford GT, and who knows maybe a cool one off appearance item.
  11. I can't speak to the 2017's but my 2016 is FWD and is powered by the 3.5 six.
  12. I just discovered a 2007 release by Levon Helm (RIP) "Dirt Farmer" that I really took to. I loved to listen to his voice on all his "The Band" work. He had just completed a fair amount of chemo therapy in his ongoing battle with cancer when he made this record. His daughter Amy sings background vocals on many of the tracks. I guess his voice is falls into "you either like it or not category", but I like it and his form of American roots music. Randy, if you are not familiar with this recording U-tube has the entire thing there, you might enjoy it?
  13. How often do you use your paddle shift? When I first got mine I used it a fair amount, but the on-board ECU seemed to have a mind of its own and I more or less lost interest in the novelty of it. How about you?
  14. I have to wonder if the illustration you have posted means much in direct injected engines where there is no gasoline washing over the intake valves? They will get coked up with relatively low mileage as the PVC system dumps oil vapor into the intake tract.
  15. Another question: What is(are) the amp(s) output(s) for the Sony 12 speaker system? If you have done a speaker replacement please reply at my question above.
  16. So what sort of results have be reported from the speaker exchanges that are posted above? Are the Focal's the only door speakers that have been used? Damir, did you use Infinity speakers in the doors as well as the dash? I checked out a pair of Focal's in a auto audio shop and they did sound amazing, but they were being driven by a 100 watt amp and I suspect that helped the sound quality a lot. I am looking for options...
  17. I hear you, and the rest us here can only hope that your situation is a "one off", but having a fair amount of manufacturing experience in my previous career...I know where there is smoke, most times there is a fire. A manufacturing plant manager's worst nightmare is an issue that escapes his or her QC dept. and finds its way into the hands of the customer. Good luck with your F-150, and thanks for your report here!
  18. Glad you got your situation squared away, but it does open an ugly door that many of us here thought was closed and nailed shut.
  19. Tjm; By the way, what is the manufacture date of your Edge?
  20. Man I am sorry to see this, both for you and the rest of us with 16's. We know that there were 15's that had this problem and more than a few were repurchased by Ford for this very reason. Keep us updated on how the repair goes, but more importantly what your dealer does to fix the locations ID'ed as leak points. Make sure you keep notes and a time line as to what you are told and what the results are. Good luck!
