  1. The same place, but a bit different perspective with still images within the video. As always, turn it up and go full screen!
  2. Looks like they got it sorted out. "Ford deal The Ford contract was ratified in large part thanks to overwhelming support from workers at Ford’s Windsor engine plants, which will receive about $613 million in investments for a major new engine program for some of the automaker’s top-selling vehicles. About 89 percent of workers at Windsor voted in favor of the deal, compared with 45 percent of workers at the Oakville, Ontario, assembly plant, according to results posted on Unifor Local 707's mobile app. "This competitive agreement with Unifor enables Ford of Canada to further strengthen its business and positions the Canadian operations for future success," Steve Majer, Ford of Canada vice president of human resources, said in a statement late Sunday. "Ford continues to speak with the federal and Ontario governments to ensure long-term sustainability for Canada's auto manufacturing sector." New engine program The Windsor operation will be the “sole global manufacturing source” for a large engine displacement program, according to a highlights packet distributed to employees. Ford is also expected to build an updated 4.8-liter V-8 engine for the F-150 pickup truck in Windsor, the union said. About $100 million will go toward mid-cycle refreshes of the Ford Edge and Lincoln MKT crossovers at the company’s Oakville, Ontario, assembly plant. The contract, like those with GM and FCA off which the Ford deal is based, includes a $6,000 bonus, three $2,000 lump sum payments and two 2-percent wage increases for veteran workers. New hires remain on a 10-year wage grow-in period but will now receive pay increases each year under the deal, as a three-year wage freeze has been eliminated. The continuation of the 10-year wage grow-in period drew the ire of many members at Oakville, where about 2,200 of the plant’s 5,000 workers are new hires. A divide between local union leadership in Oakville and Windsor over the pattern culminated last weekend, when Unifor Local 200 in Windsor criticized its Oakville counterparts for demanding a break from the pattern, a rare public display of disunity from Unifor leadership. The margin with which the Ford contract passed was lower than the margins for the GM and FCA contract. About 65 percent of GM workers voted in favor of their contract, while 70 percent of FCA workers did the same. Under the contract, new hires will be placed into a defined-contribution retirement plan, which passes much of the financial risk away from the employer and onto the employees. Workers will be required to contribute 4 percent of their earnings to the plan, which Ford will match. The same applied to workers in the Ford and GM contracts. New hires will be placed on a defined-contribution retirement plan, seen as less risky to the employer than a traditional pension plan. The Ford deal would create or save 519 jobs over its course, according to the highlights packet..."
  3. Looks like this weekend's vote will tell the tale. http://www.autonews.com/article/20161104/OEM01/161109908/fords-canadian-union-workers-to-vote-on-new-contract In case you can't see the above story, try this one, though this report is not as detailed. http://www.chch.com/fords-canadian-union-workers-cast-vote-new-contract/
  4. Sorry folks I mistook the hours seen in the fuel window as total. I have 2800 miles on mine. Still like new. This is what happens when you have 3 cars to drive.
  5. Just curious...I'll have to check mine, but was interested in the ratio of hrs. to miles.
  6. Please add your experience here also: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/20948-second-gen-2015-16-35-throttle-body-failure-report-thread/

  8. I believe it contributed to a deer strike I had last week. I never saw the animal as it ran in from the right front side. I can't say with any certainty that the A-pillar / rear view mirror combo. were factors, but I suspect they were contributory.
  9. Silly, but the worst part so far (beyond the event) was when the insurance adjuster took the larger fractured part and pulled it out several inches to look for internal damage. He said it was going to be replaced, but it still was hard to watch. I'll post an after picture once it gets fixed. For now, I got dem ole dead deer blues...
  10. Never saw it, but my Edge took it on the chin. The front facia will be replaced and repainted. I sure hope the shop can do justice to this Too good to be blue color.
  11. When you say peeling, is it the clear coat or is it both clear coat and base color? Can you tale a couple of pictures to show the issue?
  12. tobster; Did your vacation travels take you far enough north to cross the Bonner Bridge? If so, how was that crossing? I understand they will be having alternate lane closures soon if not already as part of the new Bonner Bridge construction. I am headed to Rodanthe next week.
  13. I used the tape on and it was fine. Here is the rub though; No matter which type you use if the reason that you want them is to lower the windows in the summer and not worry about rain... The back window's shape are such that the shade does not offer any protection for the back portion of the back windows. Nothing we can do about that...Just a FYI. Not a very good picture, but you get the idea...
  14. I was cleaning up the front end of my Edge and wondered to myself: (now you folks) How would the grill look if the silver (argent?) on the grill was replaced with body color paint? Leave the chrome trim as is, just add body color. Anyone handy with photoshop so we could see how that would look?
  15. You don't say that you have the 3.5, but I expect that you do. Here is a thread that covers your issue. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12726-throttle-body-service-or-failure/ I see you got the TB replaced. Please post in this thread and describe your symptom and what your dealer did to remedy the problem. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/20948-second-gen-2015-16-35-throttle-body-failure-report-thread/
  16. I changed the topic of this thread to accommodate all second gen. Edge vehicles. My 2016 has more "Orange Peel" than I believe would be considered typical of other Ford's, or other manufacturers. Most of the problem areas are on vertical surfaces, and seem to be worst on both rear flanks of the vehicle.
  17. Glad they got you squared away! How many miles do you have on your Edge? Also please add your experience to this thread. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/20948-second-gen-2015-16-35-throttle-body-failure-report-thread/
  18. F-22 & F15 Strike Eagle @ the Mach Loop. I love this stuff!
  19. Fantastic F-22 video. In the first video watch for "The Cobra" positioning @1:38 into video.
  20. No real issues with mine.(yet) and I am pretty satisfied with the vehicle so far. I do wish the back seats folded flat though. I do like the seats and the overall ride / drive quality.

    1st oil change 3.5

I bet it takes a lot more than 2 min. to put it back on. Seems like cutting a more serviceable access hole has to be a better idea.

    1st oil change 3.5

POWERSTROKE / anyone else who knows; I just crawled under my Edge to survey what it was going to take to change the oil. I see the shield and wondered how much cutting it will take to be able to do the oil change without making a mess (will a 1" 3" cut-out really be enough?) or having to take that shield off every time. Can anyone snap a picture of their reshaped splash shield and post it here? Also, I forgot to check out what size that drain plug was.
  23. I just got a re-up notice from Sirius and they want $191.24 for extending their service a year. This is for what they describe as "The All Access Package". I tried to read through all the associated paperwork that came with this notice to see if there were other packages or tiers that might cost less, but did not find any. I do listen to a few channels on Sirius, but not enough to pay the kind of money they are asking for. I just wondered if they have the ability to provide customer selected stations to our vehicles or are there packages that we can select from other than the all access package?
