I have the weathertech set as well. Love the front but the rear leaves a lot to be desired. The sides always seem to curl up. I left them out side in 80+ degree weather with weights to hold them down...... eventually they curled back up. The cargo area is great I wish it provided a lil grip so things didn't slide around as much. All in all I don't really have any complaints. When I get my new edge (sending positive vibes out in the universe so to speak) If I cant find anything comparable I wouldn't mind getting another set.

Even though the X3 is in a similar weight class. I really don't find them comparable to the edge in terms of size. I think more of an accurate comparison would be an X5 or X6.
-
If its at a Ford dealership have them run the OASIS report that way you can get an idea of the service history. A major concern would be the PTU history. IMHO Freebird gave the best advice.

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?

With all the BS that Nick has been through, he should get the first Edge ST in the country! -
Thank the high heavens they finally will give us a black headliner! I love the softer edges no pun intended. I'm not fond of the rotary shifter and the exhaust bezel.

Not trying to be argumentative. The numbers that I used were provided by one of your previous post. Apologies if i'm mistaken, I think this is the first time here that you discussed the % gained. All in all a very informative post. Thank you for shedding the light and being among the pioneers of putting the sport back into the edge sport!

Thank you for replying. I'm not sure which forum members you are referring to when you mention opposition and criticism. Most if not all members have been helpful. $850 for a 25%(educated estimate) increase in cooling sounds more than fair. Considering that the alternative is $550 for only a 5% increase. I don't know why I thought that the BOV was one of the aftermarket products that you and Special K were working on. I thought the link you provided was to provide more information (usage, benefits of having one etc) on the BOV itself. Thanks once again for sharing the fruits of your labor with us!

GT500R said they paid about 5 and change for their CXRacing intercooler. They said it was 5% bigger than stock. If the price is in the same ballpark, then the price would be fair. I agree data is essential for making an educated purchase. I would like to support the team that brings their ideas to life and shares them with the group. I've modded every car that I have owned and made some purchases that seem necessary to me but unnecessary to others. I agree with you. The catch can seems like a worthwhile investment. Anything that can potentially extend the life of the engine is money well spent. Its not snake oil and it has been proven. Some members here are getting better results than others. But only time will tell. It will be among the first mods I consider doing.

Sexy color. Enjoy your ride. Congrats!

Thanks Snmjim and Special K for doing the research, design, engineering. Least we forget to thank y'all for bringing dreams to reality by sharing your findings with those of us that would like to put more sport into the edge sport. I don't even have a edge sport. But I am interesting in tuning and modding her when I do. There is a old saying that if you have to ask how much something cost than you can't afford it. Nevertheless I have to ask. How much is the total cost of the intercooler and BOV? I'm sure there are others that may be interested once they know the numbers etc. Thanks in advance. Onyx

Damn! She's a sexy beast! The exhaust tips would look great on a edge sport!

Disappointed in H&R Springs G2 Edge Sport
onyxbfly replied to Mikula's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
I can dig it. Hopefully something fruitful will come of your project that will be worth sharing. I went to an automotive interior shop and they quoted me $650 to pull the headliner and A pillar covers and dye it black. I did it ages ago in a bimmer I was working on for a fraction of the cost. I'm going to look into it more when I get my new sport. (No time line in place just putting positive energy out there) With my luck if i did it now I would find the only buyer or dealer who hates it when its time to move her. If there isn't anything else left for you to do while your in Hawaii You can do it. Or if your looking to save something to do for your first mod in Georgia, either way its up to you. -

Nick, can you share any info on your coilover project? When you say black out the top of the interior, are you referring to the headliner? -
Thanks for confirming my part list. More importantly thank you for including the missing link! (no pun intended) Thank you. It's always best/ easier to do the right thing. I don't understand why some simply don't do it.

Afternoon Gents, I too need to have my lower control arm replaced. I weighed the pros and cons of going with Moog vs. Motorcraft. Despite the failure rate of the Moogs. I was considering going with the Moogs. The Moog is about half the price of motorcraft. My lady is currently driving my truck and her commute is about a mile round trip. I figured what can go wrong. By time the part failed it would be a good number of years later. By that time I would have traded her in or sold her. Ultimately I decided to go with the Motorcraft part. I know I don't get any extra credit for using OEM parts when I trade her in. The idea of passing on a potential problem to someone else doesn't sit well with me. The thought of having to pay to have the Moog installed, and then eventually pay to have it R&R with the Motorcaft control arm just made no sense. Least we forget the time involved. In addition to the lower left control arm, I would like to know if the following is all I need to order: W520213 Lower ball joint nut 3B438 Stabilizer bar link W712481 Lower Ball joint bolt W712734 Lower are to frame forward bolt W712850 Lower arm to frame bolts (2 required) Thanks for your time and patience with this matter. Best Regards, Onyx

Never had any issues with mine apart from the road noise.

We appreciate you updating the thread. Wish there was a dislike button because as helpful as your opinion is. It's something that no one wants to hear since your tires are about a month old. I.E I like the invaluable info you're sharing. I dislike the that you're dealing with this.

Yes you and WWW are correct! I was referring to used since the title of your post is "Considering a used 2015" Here is a used 2016 with 401a that is $254 over your 32k limit. I'm sure the sales manager would not let you leave over $254 https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventorylisting/viewDetailsFilterViewInventoryListing.action?sourceContext=carGurusHomePage_false_0&formSourceTag=112&newSearchFromOverviewPage=true&inventorySearchWidgetType=AUTO&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=c24832&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity2=c26802&zip=44691&distance=500&searchChanged=true&trimNames=Sport+AWD&colors=Black&colors=Red&colors=White&modelChanged=false&filtersModified=true&sortType=PRICE&sortDirection=ASC#listing=180362450 I found one very quickly using one website. The WWW is big! There has to be dozens if not hundreds of sites to choose from. PSA: if you belong to a credit union, try to use their car buying service. Most (not all) credit unions use true car. I can't speak to the veracity of their claims but a few of my neighbors have used them and all are happy. When I initially checked with my credit union. They ran the numbers told me what I was approved for and said they could find me a vehicle for that price. I asked about tags and taxes they said they try to negotiate the best price possible including tags and taxes. Unfortunately I don't have all the details but call your bank and see if they participate.

I would look for a 2016. You can get a 2016 sport with 401a in the 32k price range. If you go with the 2016 you will get the updated head unit with sync 3 with carplay/ android auto. If you use an Iphone you will need to upgrade the USB ports. If you use android you're good to go. It will be a year newer, fewer miles, and depending on the build date a year or so left on the factory warranty. Within the year or so you could save for the extended warranty plan. HTH

'15-'17 Edge Sport-Subwoofer
onyxbfly replied to Augustus Maximus's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
In preparation for trade in or sale, I removed my JL Stealth Box. My lady drives it more than me and her commute is a mile or so round trip. If anyone is in the Philly area and interested in doing a test fitment let me know. -

You're welcome. Makes sense you're not looking to reinvent the wheel but to utilize the existing enclosure after reinforcing it. Its a shame that JL is not making stealth boxes for the current edges. I have one and its built like a tank! -

I don't know if you saw this or not, but it may be helpful. The OP in this post made his fiberglass enclosure. Perhaps if you reach out he can share the dimensions with you. Unfortunately I do not have any helpful suggestions but I don't feel comfortable with the idea of drilling into it and trying to pull it out. How many attempts and how many holes do you drill before it looks like Swiss cheese.....
