  1. One of my wife’s friends likes to prioritize. So home is aHome Debra is aaDebra Don is aaaDon Poor sync sounds like she is Drowning. Calling acacacdon is that correct? ab
  2. These brighter whiter halogen don’t have the life expectancy of the standard halogens. We’ve had to replace a couple of SilverStar’s (BMW and F250). Not in the MKX, I installed HID’s before the SilverStar’s failed. It is unusual to see both going at the same time, but if yours are that much hotter then the sudden surge when the first one went out probably took out the second. ab
  3. It might be why your battery went dead. What was your ground source for the 8.8 test? I’m not sure how many volts it takes to start a 12v halogen bulb but 8 volts should get it going a little??? I used to say to my customers “If you take a bad light out and you put a bad light back in what do you get?” You have a known GOOD bulb, move it to the suspected bad socket. good luck ab
  4. Greetings and welcome I did a search for “roof rack” http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=search&fromMainBar=1 A few trades have been made over the years. It looks like an easy DIY. I’ve asked JB several times if I could take them off, sorry she always says no . ab
  5. “I will be adding one of these to my GTR,” I was BS’ing :yup: you PLEASE DO NOT put a G-Tech on your GTR. I highly recommend you get one of these. http://cobbtuning.com/products/?id=5676 or one of these. http://cobbtuning.com/products/?id=5708 better yet, join a GTR forum ab
  6. "Once in awhile one light wont turn on though, if i unlock the car, and the lights turn on, and than i turn it over to start it, one will shut off...?" Check the ground for the ballast that's not working properly, this can cause your "Once in awhile one light wont turn on" problem. ab
  7. “You know I drive a Nissan GTR 2010 as a daily driver” Will you be adding one to your GTR?
  8. Anybody know what kind of sensors or test the “intelligent Oil life monitor” uses/does? ab
  9. Our 08 leads a pampered life. Rarely spends any time parked in the rain (Texas). But when it is in the rain we drive straight from where it was parked to our garage. I’ve never noticed any water running out when we get out, so maybe it’s running out while in motion? ab
  10. This doesn’t sound good. What yr Edge and how long have you had it? ab
  11. Evidently the processor for sync is a leftover Pentium ll. I find that if I hold the button down she will eventually wake up and answer/hangup. ab
  12. I did a search for "cargo net" and found this. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=search&fromMainBar=1 Take a close look at the one by Splitpi http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/2977-cargo-net/page__p__22913__hl__%22cargo+net+%22__fromsearch__1#entry22913
  13. Search and join here http://fordsyncforum.com/ But you might try 0000 first ab
  14. Why was your MKX recalled? “deplorable” pretty strong word. Toyota seems to have learned a valuable (EXPENSEVE) lesson about NOT recalling for KNOWN safety issues! Our 08 had a TSB, ours was not part of the TSB BUT they did an alignment anyway. Who knows… maybe we would by buying tires at 40+K miles instead of driving another 10K. ab
  15. Admit it you’re getting older (bigger). That 32” waist is long gone. :shades:
  16. I wouldn’t think having to add coolant to a 2010 would be considered “normal maintenance", especially with only 8800km on it. I drove a company provided Taurus (co provided maintenance)…needed coolant twice a year. The autopsy revealed that a head gasket had been leaking a long time. Sounds like you need to have them check for leaks. ab
  17. Greetings and welcome Anyone have any issues with the dipstick? Wasn’t it invented during the dark ages, pick up a stick and stick it in the well to see if there is any water. Seriously I would trust the book and NOT the stick, over filling is almost, if not just as bad as under filling. ab
  18. Are people thinking (being told) “WiFi hotspot” will allow browsing the internet from the MyFord Touch screen? ab
  19. Here’s the same problem from 2009, doesn’t seem to have been resolved. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/3822-lincoln-mkx/page__p__29572__hl__metric__fromsearch__1#entry29572 Not sure of the proper way to drain power from ALL the systems. Someone told me to disconnect the positive (+) battery cable. This will prevent new power from entering the systems. Turn the key to ON. Turn on the lights. Step on the brake. Push any and all buttons. Go in the house and watch a sitcom. Turn the key off. Turn the lights off. Reconnect the battery cable. But I don’t think this will help with your problem . ab
  20. OUCH nice stealer Have them try some of these places, looks like US $900 to $950 Standard Auto Wreckers in Ontario, 416-286-8686 lists 1 for US $900.00 http://www.standardautowreckers.com/ http://www.mikesautoparts.ca/ Fill out this form for more in Canada http://car-part.com/ A tow truck to a local transmission repair shop should save you BIG $'s! Good luck and keep us updated ab
  21. Like you I know a couple of things ( that would be 2) about computers. " then the system hung when I pressed one specific button and now half the buttons don't call up their respective screens. " Sounds like a hardware problem. I REALLY DO NOT LIKE touch screens and THEY DO NOT like me. I can't answer my Motorola Backflip, the answer part of the touch screen does not work for me. BUT it does for my wife, son and a friend. ab
  22. We traded up  from an X3. The biggest thing we miss about the BMW is not getting to tell our Caddy, BMW, etc friends that “we have to take the X3 in this week .” ab
  23. That’s the Edge part # (9T4Z17K707D) I used on our 08 MKX, ordered and installed Nov. 08 BUT One of these days I’m going to visit our MKX dealer and get one for a 2010, it’ll have the auto-dim feature, which we miss! ab
  24. “If you do you might as well go all out and buy the fake side vents, racing stripes, and bolt on exhaust tips. ” Hay wait a minute you’re hitting below the belt :D . Our MKX has “fake side vents” and so do the 2011’s. ab
  25. How are the shocks, windows and transmission holding up on your 07? A friend says his 05 Honda is his LAST, this is his 7th. I'll update him with your input, he really likes Honda. He's just tired of having to take it in every few months. If you are looking for a “New” “DEAL” and there are still plenty of 2010 Edges loaded the way you want then I would wait a few weeks, but watch the inventory carefully. ALL of us will have MUCH older cars in a few weeks; my wife says she doesn’t care. We usually trade every 3 yrs, but she says she’ll keep this one 2 or 3 more! ab
