  1. I did the multiple grit sandpaper with clear coat method (can't find my post as to when I did it). Other than my crappy paint job, everything looks good so far. Edit: Did it in May of last year. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/13407-what-have-you-done-towith-your-edgemkx-today/?p=169778
  2. Follow the tubing back from the nozzles. You might have to remove the clips holding the 'hood felt' to see if the lines are cracked or coming apart. You might see water dripping from the hood when you lift it. Pumps are usually go-or-no go AFAIK. You have to take the front passenger inner wheel well cover to access the pump.
  3. Got an oil change at the Dealership with coupon. Asked the local mechanic about a re-manufactured tranny. $4500 out the door.....It's not that bad (yet), so it's back to 'go until she blow'.
  4. Got a set of Dueler H/L 422 Ecopia BL's for $760 out the door yesterday. Damn Pegasus (Pegasi?) tires were so bad they were pulling to the right when I drove. Less than 20k on those things. There is cheap and there is 'even the Chinese won't copy them' cheap. Techs did like my horn, too.
  5. Thanks mac. I got new tires yesterday and they said that the brakes looked good, so I'll just set these away until needed. Will probably paint the hats when the time comes.
  6. Got everything the other day. Rotors are big, heavy disks of blackness. Do they stay that way after use or do they go to silver?
  7. Tree-fiddy with tax coming to my door. PLUS $40 AZ-WackyBucks when I fill out the rebate. Have to check my BBQ paint supply. I like to give the calipers a nice coat when I change rotors. How much more improved stopping power do I get with red calipers?
  8. Thanks for the suggestions. The Duralast set would be about $400, but if I do it online and ship to my door, I get 20% off, or about $80 in AutoZone WackyBucks. Going to have to think about this for a bit. Brakes aren't terrible, but with all the other 'new' stuff that was on it when I bought it, they can't be far behind.
  9. Gack. Having a hard time looking at brake kits. Might as well do all four, city street for the most part, drive like an old man. Would like slotted (not drilled), but not a deal breaker. Better than stock - best bang for the buck. Need 4 tires soon, so I need to watch the expense. Thanks.
  10. I see your dog and raise you a lawn. Platform I built has wings that fold down to cover the gaps by the door handles, but then again I have smaller dogs. The whole thing is covered with a rubber sheet for accidents and a carpet remnant for comfort. The only thing I don't like about it (other than I used too thick of a plywood), is that there is no way to hinge it so I can fold it up and keep it in the cargo area when not needed. It's a two-person cargo van unless I yank the whole sheet out.
  11. Did the plugs on mine at 127k when I got it and they had the blue paint spot from the factory on them. I have other issues, but used CBM anyways to test the PCM. Came back fine. Replaced the coils and plugs at 150k when I sent the PCM in. Even with overnight each way it will take 4 days to get from your hand and back into it. Did the coils/plugs while I waited. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/23133-need-advice-on-pcm/

  13. Suspend the Lifetime account? It's been a while, but I think you can do that. Wife has a Lifetime on an aftermarket on her old truck. When she bought her new Mazda, the first CR didn't want to do the transfer, but the second did. My theory is that you only get 3 transfers on a Lifetime, so anytime they do it counts better for them. Rules always change for their benefit.... I've had my Lifetime on my ancient Sirius boombox since 2004-ish (whenever Stern started). The portable part is the size of a small paperback. It's been out in the sun for too long and a good portion of the screen is faded, but hasn't cost me anything since the initial purchase. I don't remember any issue transferring my other monthly subscription from my 2000 BMW to the '07 Edge, but that could of been as simple as dropping one and starting another.
  14. Spent $80 on the Horror Fraught 3T jack 3 years ago. Works fine when I need it, but now it mainly holds ups dust.
  15. Went to the Key Forum: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/19370-2013-3-button-key-fob-unlock-button-stopped-working/?hl=ebay http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/19107-where-to-buy-new-key/?hl=ebay http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/19198-need-a-new-key-fob-help-please/?p=141233 Helps when you realize that posts with a little star next to them means you posted in it.
  16. I have a flip key (switchblade) as one of my '07 keys. Got it off EBay. Was looking for my old post showing the seller I used, but I can't find it. Just make sure you have the same number of buttons as the old keys and double check the frequency.
  17. If you can do a spark plug change, you can get a coil kit here: https://www.google.com/search?q=BA5Z-12259-A&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 Check with your local dealer to see what price they might have and save on shipping, but you should be able to get a set of coils, plugs and gaskets for about $150. As long as you have the intake off, don't forget to replace the PCV. How to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yg7rmtKZ360&t=510s As for the PCM: https://circuitboardmedics.com/2007-2010-ford-edge-pcm-ecm-repair/ They will cost you $300 for a repair ($125 for testing, but if you know it's fried, no need for that) and roughly $60 for next-day-air shipping round trip. Keep in mind that it will be out of your hand for roughly four days : Ship To, Receive & Repair, Ship Back Following Day, You Receive It. Plenty of time to replace the coils. Wrap the unit in bubble wrap, then place and fill in a Large FedEx box for shipping. Total cost of around $550 (high side)+ your time.
  18. Not that I am actively searching, but if I come across a '07 and up 6F50/6F55 Solenoid Assembly & Valve Body that's a deal, will any FoMoCo one work? If magic happens, the idea would be to have it rebuilt and have it in a box in case funds come up for replacement. This would be the last time I want to crack the tranny case.
  19. Not going down the rabbit hole anymore. 3-4 slip is still there and the only other option is replacing the entire valve body with a 'new' one. Cost of that, along with R&R, makes it's not worthwhile at this point in time. Slip is bad for now as PCM is relearning everything. Should settle down in a bit. Thanks again for everyone's suggestions.
  20. Well that wild goose led nowhere.... Tech drove around with my PCM in his Edge over the weekend and didn't have any shifting issues. Should be back to me tomorrow. I guess I will put up with it for a while until another wild goose appears.
  21. Did that 20k ago. Didn't feel like spending the money on the heated one again.
