  1. would love to see the outcome!!! do you have pics?
  2. My 2016 Edge is pretty nice, I really like it ... not too much different than the MKX my mom had a while back, though newer.
  3. Hi, I also have a 2016 Edge (SEL) and also noticed the USB charges slow and is only active when the vehicle is on. Though I bought a 2.4A+QC2.0 12v cig-lighter-type charger and have it plugged into the power point inside the center console/armrest. It seems to be active 100% of the time (including when the vehicle is in an extended off period), so maybe check that power point and see if it works better for you.
  4. I personally use the Zymol two-part ... one is a spray-on cleaner, the other is a creme conditioner ... clean, then condition with a microfiber ... very easy, very clean and keeps the leather supple and new. Looks great. For added UV/wear protection (with the rest of the interior), use some 303 Aerospace as your final touch. Great combo, my leather still looks brand new. https://www.amazon.com/Zymol-Z-507-Leather-Cleaner-Conditioner/dp/B000F7VKD4 There is also the gold standard Leatherique two-part, but it costs significantly more, though it is renowned for restoring leather to 'new' condition. It's commonly used at detailers on the highest grade leathers inside exotic sports cars. http://www.leatherique.com/ Hope this helps.
  5. Definitely not normal ... on my 2016 AWD its effortless. I know on the 2016 it is electric power steering instead of hydraulic, not sure about your year. Is it like this every time? What about at speed? You might want to get it checked out.
  6. Hi Kevin, I have a 2016 and I really enjoy it. I have found that with the vista roof all the way open, it can make the throbbing air pressure sound if none of the windows are open. Usually I crack the rear windows a tiny amount and that takes care of it. Alternatively, with the vista roof just 'venting' (different button), it just kicks the back of the vista roof up, but it does not make the throbbing sound. Though I find that having any or all windows open in combination with the vista roof gives the best/quickest venting of air. The only thing I have not tried is opening the roof all the way, windows up, with air venting on via A/C console (no cooling though, just outside venting) to see if it still creates some throbbing air turbulence. I'm going out in a few minutes and will check it out and report back.
  7. Thanks Xilu, appreciate the feedback. I wonder how much the 50w would knock down the color temp of those 5500k's. Cheers!
  8. I have been using this a custom-sized HeatShield that my buddy got me for my 2016, and it works great. It rolls up instead of folds, but it covers perfectly from bottom to top of windshield and rolls down the left and right side nicely for total coverage. It really helps keep the temps down! https://www.amazon.com/Sunshade-Heatshield-Windshield-Custom-fit-1553/dp/B00YHZUVU8/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1468630281&sr=8-3-fkmr0&keywords=heatshield+sunshade+edge+2015
  9. sorry that was a typo. do not want heavy blue ... just all white ... mmm yum!
  10. Hello, Currently I have a non-HID 2016 Edge. I'd like to get some HIDs for it, was looking at the Morimoto kit and it looks like a quality set. My only uncertainty is the lamp color temp. I really want the light output to match the 2016's solid-white LED accent lights that sit below the headlights (attached). The stock headlights are just too yellow for me. If the Morimoto 50w ballast (XB55) is used, it says it increases luminance by 20%, decreases lamp life by 20%, and reduces the color temp by around 1000K. So if I use the 50w/XB55 ballast, is the 6500K lamp the best choice for a total-white/no-yellow light output, knowing that the heavier ballast with knock it down ~1000K? I also don't want a heavy blue hue, though juuuuust a touch would be okay. Looking forward to hearing your opinions or experiences. Thanks very much!
  11. I also experienced the exact same problem the other day on my 2016 SEL, havent looked into it yet. the right side works fine, but go to drop the left/middle seat, and nothing, but you do hear the motor noise trying to work. same as tourguide and ben senise.
  12. What model years will this work with?
  13. 115F in Cali on Monday ... next time it hits that, I'm gonna have to spring for one of those black russians... cheers
  14. Can we expect a fix/update for this after some time or are we just going to Reset the system over and over until the car is sold?
  15. Yes please chime in if you've experienced weirdness with Sync 3 and it's radios (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and potentially even AM/FM/XM). Let's see what kind of information we can put together.
  16. Hello, I have experienced some similar issues in the last few days with both the Navigation and the Bluetooth. I have a 2016 Edge SEL AWD w/ 201A and the Technology package. 1. Yesterday: I was navigating on a 75 minute drive and at about the half-way point, the navigation stopped and popped up with an error message, "Navigation Fault - Navigation is not functioning properly." You can click Close but if you try to go back to the Nav screen you get the same error. A little while later I took a call via Bluetooth. After a couple of minutes during the call, the Bluetooth audio dropped out mid-sentence and went to a single, low tone like digital sound stuck in a sound buffer loop (like when a computer crashes while playing audio). The only thing I could do was hang up the call. When they called back, it worked fine for the remainder of the call. 2. Two days ago: I was taking a long drive from NV back to CA (about 3.5 to 4 hours). I had my Bluetooth connected the whole time, but was not actively using it (no calls). When I was about 2/3 of the way back, I turned on the Nav for the rest of the way. After a short while, the small screen next to the speedometer mentioned the Nav was 'off route' -- when clicking over to the Nav screen on the Sync 3 display, on the left side there was the word 'GPS' with a strike through it. Then I noticed the Bluetooth was not functioning, it wouldn't connect to my phone or allow phone calls to pass through, and when I deleted the Bluetooth profile and tried to create a new profile, the Sync pairing would not show on my phone. I tried turning the vehicle and phone Bluetooth off and back on, no change. I also pulled over and turned the car off and then back on, still no change for the remainder of the drive. I was not aware of the reboot procedure you spoke of but will try it next time, though I hope I don't have to. Looks like we need a software update. James
  17. LOL... now THATS how you do a wax job! great work. looks lovely
  18. Hi guys, Just touching on this, the representative at my dealer said Android Auto will work natively over USB with the 2016 Edge (as long as you have the software update of course). Apple CarPlay will require some proprietary Apple adapter as a go-between over USB. He said "$50" for that adapter. That's all I know! Hope it helps. JC
  19. Hi all, Looking for some information. Are there any fog light kits available for the 2016 Edge that also maintain the DRL? Something like this: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Car-styling-Fit-Ford-Edge-2015-2017-LED-Daytime-Running-Lights-DRL-Projector-Lens-Fog-lights/32494767705.html?spm=2114.40010308.4.15.4UTZPh My Edge only has the DRL and a blank area in the middle of the panel. Just wondering if there was a drop-in part or something similar. Also looks like HID headlights are tough on these without some customization. Either way I really like the car so far! (got it 3 days ago) Thanks!! James
