Excellent video!!! I recently went through a similar (but untested) exercise where I swapped my All Seasons for a set of Winter Tires and on snow, grip between the two tires are too close to call. The Winter tires get up to temperature much quicker but when the all seasons have driven a couple of Km's they grip pretty well. Unfortunately where I live, we get a lot of Ice (especially black Ice) and I really had to do it for Ice driving.

The only car I have ever owned where I actually liked and used the navigation that the car came with was my 2016 Audi A4 and only because it used Google Maps that was displayed in the instrument cluster (Audi Virtual Cockpit is amazing). Sync 3 is a fantastic platform and I dont think it should be slated because the maps on it is out of date. I think if there wasnt another option for navigating with the system it would a reason to complain but there are 2 (3 if you count Android Auto and Carplay seperate) other ways now to get latest maps on the unit: 1. Android Auto\Carplay 2. Applink - just install Waze on Sync 3 (on your phone first and then sync the app to the car), have the latest maps, speed limits, traffic and police warnings right on Sync 3 without using Android Auto or Carplay

Wow, that sucks!! I know there is issues with the pano-roofs but didnt know about the rear window. Good Luck sorting it out with the dealer.

I am not sure if it works the same with iPhone, but you must have Waze installed on your phone (latest version I presume), go to the apps menu on Sync and click the find new apps (i think that is what its called) button. It then checks for new compatible apps on your device and installs them on sync.

Almost all new cars come or will come with Stop Start. Its strange and awkward in the beginning but you get use to it pretty quick

I give up. OP your car is broken, please take it to Ford so that they can fix it. Looking forward to hear what is wrong so that I can fix my broken Edge too.

Here is a good example; this is the difference in torsional rigidity of a Lincoln (because I cant find the stats for the Edge) with a standard roof vs pano roof: Lincoln Continental (2017 – ) 30,712 (1,760 kNm/rad, base roof), 20,766 (1,190 kNm/rad, w/dual-panel moonroof) That is a massive difference in rigidity and even though it doesnt mean the car will fall apart when it drives over a rock, it is significant enough to notice. My Edge, with a Pano roof does the same as the OP and I just close it by hand as a work around.

Exactly! I am not questioning the capability of the car, just naming. If that is the vision of Ford, they should standardise the vision like BMW, Audi, Merc etc.

I dont have an argument, just an opinion I dont see the straight line capabilities of a vehicle as performance. Its only but a singular aspect of it. If I see a sport badge, it tells me the car is probably configured in a way that would cater for more spirited driving but is compromised towards comfort for daily driving as apposed to track day driving. The ST badge means, a fun drivers package that talk to the 3 pillars of performance; acceleration, steering and stopping with daily comfort compromised for performance.

ST is not exactly the same as AMG, S, RS, SRT, ///M and even for those SUV's, they dont really do well in anything other than going fast in a straight line. They are super stiff to pretend they can go around corners (excluding the ones with active dampers) and then they arent anywhere near as good as the equavalent sedan\coupe counterparts that they are trying to mimic. The Focus ST and Fiesta ST is lauded for driving fun and chuckability on a race track, great front end grip and glorious lift off oversteer slides... That is what I think when I read ST (I owned a 2017 Focus ST for a couple of months as a 2nd car so know it pretty well. Same with the Fiesta ST, the original 2.0L, drove tons of them when they were launched, great handling, gruff and revvy engine). Ford said the Edge ST is not designed to go on the race track in their press release and even in the promo video, not even Ben Collins can make it look fluid and happy on turn-in with the car understeering around the parking lot, even when he chucks it in... So what do they want from it? Comfortable, fast SUV? Kinda like a Sport? Let me put it to you like this, if they changed the name of the Fusion Sport to the Fusion ST, does that mean the Fusion ST is now a high performance sports sedan that is out to have fun with the likes of BMW 340i M sports, S4 Audi, Q60 Red Sports, C43 AMG etc? Each to their own I guess. My wife likes it so we will probably get one irrespective of what its called. I like the look and I like the kit and it addresses my main pain on the current car, the gearbox.

Lol, technically any flex is not good. SUV's suffer from this more than sedans and coupe's and when compared to their levels of rigidity, it really is poor. Not as bad a convertibles, those are really bad!

Performance engineering in a SUV? And ST is hardly a prestigious plaque in the market.

We will have to wait and see if they have ruined the Sport by making it an ST. ST is a badge they put on a focus or fiesta, not a $50k SUV. Lets wait and see

SUV is a box on wheels, even a little flex will cause funny things to happen, like closing the trunk, creaks and groans when driving over undulations. All cars have this, SUV's just more than normal cars.
