  1. This logic is just plain wrong. It is not so simple as wider tire = bigger contact patch = more traction in all conditions. It's a complicated relationship that involves changing the contact patch size, shape and pressure. You are trying to increase friction on ice. A wider contact patch will not make ANY difference. You have 2 choice. Winter tires with a softer rubber compound and many sipes to increase the coefficient of friction. If this is not satisfactory for your driving conditions, then the only effective alternative is studded tires or chains.
  2. 3.4 is a fail. The appearance is a downgrade and it's laggy. I don't see any worthwhile new features. What was Ford thinking.
  3. $270? You're not getting 'free' shipping. A quality H6 AGM battery from Advance Auto is $159 with the always available 20% off codes. I routinely get 7+ years out of batteries, so the fact that you've gotten 2 or 3 out of a very expensive battery isn't very impressive.
  4. Sorry, you read your manual correctly. I have an 18 and a 19. Looked at the wrong owners manual. 18 oil capacity is 5.7. 19 oil capacity is 5.5. Did the oil pan change?
  5. Manual says 5.7 quarts. Dealer rounds up to the nearest quart on invoice. Did you bother checking to see if it is overfilled on the dipstick? If overfilled by 0.3 quart, not likely to cause an issue, but dealer ought to be notified if that is the case, because it would be sloppy workmanship. There isn't 'room' for additional oil, hence there is a max and a min level on the dipstick. Overfilled oil does not spike oil pressure. If overfilled enough the crankshaft splashes in it, causing frothing of the oil. Frothing causes problems whether or not the engine is revved higher.
  6. I have had very good luck with Centric rotors.
  7. What you describe would be 100% covered under warranty. Why would you call Ford? Just take it to a dealer (one with a good paint shop).
  8. I currently own a 2018 and a 2019 Edge with cooled seats and they both work exactly the same.
  9. They are definitely cooled (from the TED) not just ventilated. Mine work fine in my 2015 F-150, my 2018 Edge and my 2019 Edge. The only change I'm aware of over the years is Ford did something to the TED's fan/ducting, because I can hear it in the Edge's but not in the F-150. F-150 forums have lots of complaints about the cooling not working, or the seatback even getting hot. I must be lucky, mine works fine. I had a 2015 Lincoln MKC and it neither heated nor cooled well, but I always attributed that to the thicker seat padding?
  10. There is no need for a catch can, they are a gimmick. Synthetic is more heat resistant and does not break down. It is not more resistant to carbon build-up. GF-6 oil is what you want to use. Does not matter synthetic or semi. 5000 miles is a short OCI and decent oil will work fine with such a short interval. If you are getting carbon it would be in the intake tract and on the backside of the intake valves, not 'on the turbos'.
  11. You heard wrong. All oils are compatible with each other. Also, if you are going to change your oil every 5000 miles, full synthetic is not necessary.
  12. 76,000 miles and transmission starting to act up? Change transmission fluid.
  13. A tune does very little for NA engines nor will all the other stuff you're considering throwing at it.
  14. So the card with the code is not in the folder with the manual?
  15. How did you end up with a 2019 that's missing a key and the Owners Manual?
  16. If you switch tire sizes, you must calculate the new recommended pressure vs this door jamb sticker number according to this guide. As the load rating goes up, the required tire pressure goes down. Tire Inflation.pdf
  17. I'm partial to the Detroit 6V71. THE CRACKERBOX
  18. Numerous posters saying they have the same/similar symptoms with 8F35 equipped Edge's. I was just saying mine has been flawless.
  19. 6 months on 2019 Titanium, not one transmission issue.
  20. I've been using E10 in all of my watercraft (Wakeboarding boat, pontoon boat, 2x Waverunners) for over 10 years with absolutely zero issues. They are all fuel injected. I put Sta-Bil in the gas at every fill-up, which I would do even with E0. There is little E0 available anywhere around me and it's 50-70 cpg more expensive. I also use E10 in all of the small engines at my farm. Again, zero issues. I see no reason to use E0. Certainly not in a car.
  21. 4 to 48 hours? It turns off every time you turn the engine off. It does not turn off as long as the engine remains on.
