GPS provides one time signal to every place in the world. It's up to the GPS unit in the car to interpret that time signal.

The Edge is built in Canada, Canadian Thanksgiving was a month ago and the plant gets one day off. Even the US plants only get two days for Thanksgiving. However it still is unlikely to get a delivery by the end of the year, given that things are a bit backed up due to the carpet shortage.

I think the old band-style wheels actually had a counterweight cast into them to offset the weight of the TPMS sensors. Theoretically that could be overcome with enough wheel weights, but it makes the balancing job much more difficult.
-
If you knew what it took to replace the carpet, you wouldn't be worried about repairing a bumper fascia.

How can a satellite know which time zone you're in? The satellite time is just GMT time, it's up to the GPS unit itself to adjust the time based on where you are. But how can it know what the correct time is if there could be two different times at the same location, depending on the date? So the system has to double-cross reference, take the standard time signal, check that against the location then check that against a database of DST time offsets by location. I don't believe that last database exists in the system, thus the DST function is just a manual on/off button that you have to push twice a year.

The salesman is half right. You need to connect to the Ford service tool if you want to bleed the system upstream of the ABS module. If you want to bleed the system between the ABS module and the wheels, you can do a conventional bleed as noted in the other responses. So be super careful to keep the master cylinder topped up as you bleed. If you let it get to low and suck in some air from the top side, it's off to the dealer.

I shouldn't have implied you're not going to improve overall towing with a tune, but I still don't see how you can possibly fix the problem of maintaining speed at 65mph in 5th gear with a 36sqft trailer. You're going to need to add 20-30hp at around 2500rpm and I just don't think that's possible with a tune only.
-
A chip is not going to get you any help while towing. Chips get you more HP at WOT conditions at high rpm. Even a 15hp chip is going to result in maybe 1-2hp at the low rpm medium load conditions that you find when towing. It's not going to be enough to make a difference. You're just going to have to live with the higher rpms, that's the way the car was designed, so don't worry about it. FWIW my Miata runs 3800rpms in top gear at 75mph without any trailer at all.

But I think the Edge has a different center-bore.

And plastic bumpers, and a plastic fuel tank, and a plastic intake manifold...
-
There are also a bunch of big holes and tabs cast into them to provide positive mounting for the caps.

FWD vs AWD makes no difference in the towing capabilities of a vehicle, unless you need the extra traction pulling out of steep boat ramps. In fact towing on a FWD based AWD vehicle can get the PTU really hot, potentially shortening it's life. But I agree, trying to stretch a 2.0 Edge to a 2000lb towing job, even if only once in a while, is not a good idea. Go for the V6.
-
You cannot get the factory tow package with the 2.0L, but the 2.0L is still rated to tow 1500lbs.
-
The carpet supplier was flooded by Hurricane Irene so there are thousands of Edges sitting around waiting for carpet. But distance from the plant makes absolutely no difference in shipping priority.
-
First of all the UAW negotiations are complete, so there will be no strike. Second of all the Edge is built in Canada by the CAW, so they wouldn't go on strike at the same time anyway.

Do you hear the same dual chime if you pull the park brake on while driving? Could be that the park brake is not fully releasing or at least the sensor thinks it's not fully releasing.
-
Have you checked the brakes or wheel bearings for any dragging?
-
This is 100% false. The system does know what the exact pressure is and by federal regulations it must be able to recognize if all 4 tires drop at exactly the same time. What you describe is only true of the old ABS-based systems like GM used to use, but they cannot be used anymore as they don't meet the federal requirements. To the OP, looks like you're in Florida, which from what I hear has had a pretty cold week this week. I suspect your tires are all low because the temperature has dropped. Putting air back in as you did is the only solution, but don't blame the dealer if it was much hotter when you took delivery.

Has Ford ever issued updated NAV data?
Waldo replied to viper001's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Sure they did, the phone numbers to order map updates can be displayed right on the screen. -
The only purpose of chrome wheels is appearance. What part about the plastic doesn't look good? Can't be that bad if it took you a long time to notice.

AC blowing hot when sitting but cold while driving?

Now it sounds exactly like a bad fan. -
Confused between new ford edge and new ford explorer
Waldo replied to sadnes's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
You would have to re-wire the car and change the software in a lot of different modules. Very complicated and only an expert could do it. Even the dealers would not know how to do that. Plus the parts and sensors would probably cost several thousand dollars. It would probably be cheaper and easier to import a US spec model. -
AC blowing hot when sitting but cold while driving?
Waldo replied to 4x4's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
Most likely to be an issue with the cooling fans if it works while driving. How's your engine temperature when idling? -
Why in the world do you need higher load capacity? If you're planning to put any more weight than the stock tires can handle, you're going to be breaking suspension parts.

Day Time Running Lights
Waldo replied to kylet's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
There's no different equipment, it's all software. It's just that Ford decided the software was too complicated for the dealers now.
