Pushing the seek (not the one on the steering wheel) or tune to the right should take you into the "sub-channels". You just have to make sure the HD channel is fully "acquired" before it will work.

2013 DRL's Canadian Model
Waldo replied to Jmac88's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
The DRL module can be configured, you just have to change the DID DE0A from 00 (off) to 01 (low beam), 02 (fog lamps) or 03 (turn lamps). But this is not part of the standard dealer software package. They must have the software that allows them to go right into the SPDJB to change this. -
Just go by the oil life monitor. People get really worked up about first oil changes, but it really isn't that important.

Yeah, Huh? The only thing that involves NAFTA when importing a car is in the calculation of duties. I bought my wife's Mariner in the US and imported it to Ontario long before it was 6 months and 6000 miles.

Add nav to a 2011 with myford touch?
Waldo replied to tknice's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
There are no hardware changes required. If he says there are, then he's either lying or using a non-Ford authorized aftermarket package. The Nav license costs $150 and it should take no more than 30 minutes to do the software changes. So $1300 is a total scam from somebody. -
Having formerly worked in automotive electronics, the fact is that the vast majority of the times an electronic module like a PCM is replaced, the electronics aren't actually bad at all It's far more likely that the real issue is a bent pin or a poorly made connection somewhere. There's no chance that changing your tires caused your PCM to fail.

Shock mount insulators won't do anything for roll. Roll is strictly a function of the CG/weight of the vehicle and the spring and anti-sway bar rate. Those are the only things that affect the amount of roll. Now roll-control is a different thing. How fast the vehicle rolls (ie how long it takes to get to the steady-state roll condition) is different. That can be affected by many things, including to a small degree the shock insulators. Is your issue really the amount of roll, like when going through a long freeway cloverleaf, or is the feeling that the vehicle is flopping over to quickly, especially when changing directions - like in a slalom.

Huh? A filter works until it's full. How full it gets depends on how much crap is in your oil. How much crap is in your oil has very little to do with mileage alone.

"Electronic throttle delay" is really a myth. There is no delay because of the electronic throttle, the delay is there because it's required to meet emissions regulations. In fact it's one of the main reasons that OEMs have switched to the electronic throttles - so that they can introduce and control the delays for emissions control. So all this product can do is modify the pedal demand tables. All it can do is simulate you pushing the pedal further or faster. I haven't tried it, but for $289 you could probably buy yourself a nice set of shoes and get the same results.

Question about settings with auto start
Waldo replied to KingMike's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Yes, it's all there in the left hand cluster menu. Under Vehicle Settings I think. -
Yes, oversteer is exactly what you'll get.

It's pretty hard to make a US deal work these days. The incentives in Canada are generally much higher and you're going to be stuck paying the Canadian sales tax either way. I did some calculations on a Flex and Focus a couple months ago and after everything it pretty much came out the same buying in either Canada or US. At most I think you could save around $1000, which may not be worth the hassle. The only way to really make it work would be if you could find a way to avoid paying the state sales tax.

Comparing the Edge rear diff to a Ram 2500 is like comparing a two game losing streak to the Leaf's Stanley Cup drought. They aren't similar in any way. Ford recommends never changing the rear diff lube in the Edge and unless you're towing a LOT or going to the race track regularly, it's really not worth doing.

The dealer still makes some profit on an X-plan sale, and they get credits based on volume of vehicles sold, so there definitely would be some incentive for them to give you an extra. But it can't be much, maybe on the order of $200-300. Also I wouldn't recommend any undercoating, It just gums up everything. The Edge's body is dipped in a special e-coat protection system so rust isn't going to be an issue. Basically it's already got an undercoating from the factory.

Sirius option not listen as source
Waldo replied to opulido's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Mexican units are not configured with Sirius from the factory, since Sirius is not technically available in Mexico. -
DRLs are a fleet only option in the US, so if the previous owner was a rental company, government or some kind of company car leasing company, they can order the DRL turned on from the factory. But the DRL feature will not turn on the rear lights, so make sure you still put the headlight switch in auto or on when it's actually dark out.

Shift to Park Warning when it's in Park
Waldo replied to AmyLovesHerEdge's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
I agree it's a sensor in the shifter. Yes you can turn off the car when it's not in park. What else would you do if you're throttle got stuck? -
They're not OE SHO if they're 8.5, the SHO has only ever had 20x8 rims. Why hold yourself to 20in? A nice set of 18 would probably save you a lot of money and give you better performance in the snow.

Directional tires are almost always sports/performance tires. The Mustang and other SVT products come with directional tires, but the Edge does not.
-
Electronic parts have a high infant mortality rate - meaning if they're going to fail, they usually fail early. So don't sweat it, a couple early problems are not indicative of how the vehicle is going to perform in the long term. And I will concur that replacing the throttle body is not that hard and is almost certain to fix your problem for good.

Yes. (Rotors are about $55 each at my favorite online dealer place)

Left front inlet valve coil circuit failure(ABS)
Waldo replied to PW25's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Other than checking carefully all the connectors and wiring, the only solution is to replace the ABS control module. -
The AWD components are always spinning, whether the system is on or not. Plus you are moving the weight of the parts all the time. So there is no difference in fuel consumption if the system is on or off.

He's smoking something if he thinks OD off gives him a better launch. It doesn't.

Edge Rolls into Street when in PARK and engine off.
Waldo replied to misterbig6972's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
So you didn't read the part of the owner's manual that says "WARNING - always set the parking brake"? (it's on page 188) Rolling into an innocent kid is certainly a danger, that's why Ford specifically tells you to use the parking brake. Failure to follow Ford's safety instructions makes you the danger, not your Edge. I'm pretty sure you'll find the same warning in any other manufacturer's owner guide.
