Transmission fluid drops on the floor
edjunior replied to Brockdog12's topic in Dealership & Vendor Experiences
I don't know the answer to your question, though I would think overfill could be a cause. I am curious though why the dealer recommended the fluid changed in the first place. I can't imagine the fluid needing changed at only 32K. I'm not sure what the schedule is, but I'm betting it's not that early. -
Welcome to the forum Ashley coppe. Just wanted to point out that you are responding to a post that is 5 years old. Just in case you didn't notice it. Not a big deal, but just wanted to point it out.

2009 3.5L Edge - Engine Rebuild.... or not
edjunior replied to JPJMustang's topic in 2009 Edge & MKX
For $580, I think I would do the rebuild. Especially if you are doing the labor, or have someone that can do it relatively inexpensive. With a used engine, even if you could find one as cheap as that rebuild kit (and possibly labor), you take a big chance not knowing what you will get. With the rebuild, you know what you have in the engine and the quality of the work. Just my 2 pennies1 -
Ah. Makes sense. But when I had my Ham radio going (in my F-250), it kept blowing the fuse for the outlet. It just required too much power. I had to run the power directly to the battery. Have you had it up and working through the power outlet yet?

I can't help with the answer to this, but am just curious. Why do you want to do this?
-
Nothing wrong with that. And if nothing else, it at least makes people aware of a potential issue. Carry on!
-
Exactly. You put into words just what I was thinking.

For me, it wasn't the seats in the Edge, but the legroom, specifically the foot room. My feet don't rest comfortably up under the dash. Well, mainly my left foot. I have to cock it sideways, and just can't get it right. I have gotten rid of other cars for this very reason. But the rest of the Edge is pretty good, especially for a 2016. It runs great and has plenty of features for me. Especially since I don't really drive it that often. My other vehicle was a F-250, but after I sold my 5th wheel, I really couldn't justify that much truck. I ended up trading it for a '23 Explorer, which has been a great ride. No leg/foot room problems, and really a great driving/riding car.

Welcome, and congratulations on the new car. I'm betting you took the picture with an iPhone. You'll need to save it to a computer, then find a program that will open it and save it correctly. I use Picasa to do it. I just open it, make sure it is oriented the right way, then save it back to the computer.

Exactly what I was going to say. Some kind of amp.

Awesome man. Thanks for the write-up and the pics. Mine are good right now, but it's something to tuck away and remember...hopefully! -

Interesting. Any idea as to how the band came loose? -
Traction Control Light Flashes, Then Stays on?
edjunior replied to hunter306's topic in 2010 Edge & MKX
Welcome to the forum Greg. Just wanted to let you know you are responding to a post from 14 years ago. It's possible these folks are no longer on the forum. Not a big deal, as you aren't really asking for any help (that I can make out), but just wanted to let you know, in case you missed it. -
Retired AF MSgt. Morse Code operator (with 2 years in a communications center just to mix things up). Airborne for 5 1/2 years (RC-135s). Been to Japan, Omaha, Alaska and Hawaii. Retired in San Antonio, TX in 2000. Man, that was a long time ago. My thanks to all my brothers and sisters who served.
-
Huh. I never really thought about it, but yeah, I can see myself missing that also. I use the rear door lock probably as much or more than I use the front door lock. It is interesting though that my '23 Explorer still has the rear door locks. Or maybe they're back on there. Hmm, dunno.

Welcome to the forum sheshe. I can't help with your issue, but I just wanted to let you know, in case you didn't see it, that you are replying to a thread that is 3 years old, and both of those folks had only 1 post. So you may not see a reply from them. It may be better to start a new thread for your issue, though in this case, someone may come along that may be able to help. Again, welcome to the forum.

Welcome Vero. Go to the appropriate sub-forum and post up your questions. Someone will be along to provide answers and input!

I think garycrist has a better handle on this than me (electrical gremlins....yikes!). But...how old is the battery? I don't think that is the issue given your readings, but you never know.

Boy, talking about a day late and a dollar short. I just finalized my ESP through another online dealer. I don't know what your contact could have done, but I still think I got a pretty good deal on this one. I went for the 8 years and 100K, since I plan on keeping it, but probably not forever. Anyway, it would have been nice to get a quote from him anyway. Oh well, onward and upward!

Hi folks. I've gotten to where I just don't need my big arse F-250 anymore. My 5th wheel is gone, and while I love the truck, it's just too much. So I'm going to be trading it in on a probably Ford Explorer. I'm looking at a couple of 2023's, relatively low mileage, one owner, and Ford Gold Certified. And of course they want to sell me the Gold Certified Protection Plan, 7 year, 100,000 mile Comprehensive Limited Warranty. They are offering it for $1900 (and some change). I know these can be had from other dealers, so does this one sound like a good deal? Are there any other better deals out there? Appreciate any help with this. By the way, I'll be getting a fair amount of cash back from them also, as the truck is worth way more than the Explorer. I'm sure I could sell the truck and get more, but other than the over-zealous salesmen, I'm just looking to get the deal done and get the best I can. Again, appreciate the help.

Yep. Happens to my wife all the time. She really, really hates it. And who takes it all? Me! I have not tried to WD-40 or PB Blast it yet. But I am looking at trading it in anyway on the next size up SUV (Explorer). I like this one, but we have decided it is just a little too small for us. It will all depend on what kind of deal we are able to make. Anyway, if you get a replacement off E-Bay, let us know if it fixes the issue.

I would take it back to the place that did the oil change and have them find out what happened. I had something similar happen to my old Dodge Charger, and it turns out they messed up the seal when putting on the oil filter. I had oil all over my engine, hood, firewall, pretty much the whole front end of my car. They fixed the oil filter, did a thorough check to make sure nothing else got screwed up as a result, and then had the whole car detailed, including the engine compartment, and underside of the car.

Passenger Front Seat Belt - locks up
edjunior replied to mitchjs's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
This happens to my wife all the time. I don't know why, or what she does, but it happens in this car, it happens in my F-250, and it has happened in other cars also. It is something about the way she grabs the strap and pulls it, or something. I really don't know, but for other people, it rarely happens, even in the same seat. I believe it is operator error, but I just can't figure out why. -
2020 Ford Edge Titanium tire replacement
edjunior replied to Ellen Marchese's topic in Wheels & Tires
Give it a little time. I've had some Michelin's that felt "squirrely" also, but went away after a few days of decent driving. It's happened on at least a couple of cars I previously owned. If after a while it doesn't go away, I would pursue it further. But I think the tires will eventually "adjust" themselves.
