This parts diagram shows a blow up of the front bumper with numbers for each part. Find the numbers of the parts you are asking about and then look on the right hand side to see what they are calling those parts. http://www.parts.com/parts/2011/Ford/EDGE/Limited?siteid=2&vehicleid=313511&diagram=MS11005&diagramCallOut=1 This link has a diagram also, but with Ford part numbers or partial part numbers. Look under body, then bumper, then click one of the pictures to expand it and see the numbers better http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/CatalogResults.aspx?y=2011&m=Ford&mo=Edge

More than likely the crack resulted from a stone chip, rather than a stress fracture. One way to maybe tell is to take a sharp pointed object (paper clip, pencil, etc) and carefully run it over the crack. It will stick or feel funny when it finds where a chip started. Looking closely you will probable see the chip. I don't know if any owner's have had stress cracks starting at the upper middle part. Usually I've read about them starting in a lower corner, or very seldom a top corner. You could also stap at a glass installation shop and see what they say. Good luck

20" Chrome Clad wheels vs 18" Chrome Clad or Alloys
ls973800 replied to midnapore's topic in Wheels & Tires
Look online at the eBay listings. The Flex comes in 18, 19, and 20 inch I believe. I think the standard painted 18 inch wheels on the Edge SEL look nice. I had picked up a set of like new ones for $400.00 from someone who upgraded theirs to an aftermarket set. I sold them for $500.00. Just remember to check the hub opening size of any wheel other than an Edge you may be interested in. The 2010 and older Edge wheels will not fit the 2011 and newer Edge because the hub opening is different. I believe all Flex wheels use the same opening as a 2011 and newer Edge. Explorer wheels also may work. -

Very sharp looking! Your installer did a nice looking job with the clear bra, and the paint work looks fantastic. -
20" Chrome Clad wheels vs 18" Chrome Clad or Alloys
ls973800 replied to midnapore's topic in Wheels & Tires
I replaced the 20 inch chrome clad wheels within the first 2 months of ownership due to 1) didn't care for the bright chrome look and 2) major concern was unrepairable damage when (not IF) I hit a curb. Look on eBay and see all of the chrome clad wheels being sold because of curb rash. No way to repair them! I went with 20 inch alloy Ford Flex wheels so I could use my same tires and TPMS sensors. Never had any 18 inch wheels on it, so can't speak for the ride difference between the two. You can sure buy a set of 18 inch wheels and sometimes complete with tires for a very reasonable price. You will have no trouble selling the 20 inch chrome clad wheels, but may have to ship them. -
That's the problem for you, the seller near me is in the Dallas, Texas area. I used that as an example of some of the deals you may find by keeping an eye on the local ads. If the tire is still holding air, and the wheel doesn't vibrate or handle funny while driving, it should still be OK to drive on. Hard to say though not seeing it. You will have to have it looked at if you are not sure about the condition of it.

If your tire is 20 inch, then your wheel has to be 20 inch also. Your Limited must have been built with the optional 20 inch tires and wheels. 18 inch is the standard size. Important to note that if you replace the wheel, or wheel, they need to be from a 2011 or newer Edge. The 2010 and older Edge wheels will not fit properly without modification. You could also put 18 inch on if you find a set of 4 of them cheaper. Your speedometer and the wheel/tire size would be almost a perfect match, with no reprogramming needed. You can check eBay or local ads (Craigslist, etc, whatever you might have in Canada). I always watch my local papers, etc and right now there is an owner selling 3 excellent 20 inch wheels from his 2013 for $200.00 each. His fourth one was curbed, so he put different wheels on.

Cargo Accessories package includes cargo cover, cargo area protector and rear bumper protector." I don't think I have any of those. That's bad. That package is completely different than the cargo management package, and is an extra cost option. In my trunk surrounding the spare tire is the surrounding plastic tray to store items. Looks similar to the one in the pic of the link you provided. However near the tailgate I think mine has some smaller compartments. I'm not sure if this is whats called the Cargo managment System or not, but I do have the storage all around my spare tire. So maybe that's good? Yes, that is the cargo management package, but it should also include the spare tire cover like I posted a picture of. One of two things come to mind. Either the spare tire cover was deleted as part of the 2014 package, or yours is missing. Here is a picture of my window sticker showing the package listed as standard under the Interior specs.

Return lease to a different dealer?
ls973800 replied to jasbur's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
You best bet would be to call either the dealer where you leased it from, or the financial institution that did the actual lease. That might be Ford, Citi Bank, etc. I've never leased a car before, so don't know what kind of paper work you received with the lease terms. You might want to review those papers to see if your question is addressed. -
It's actually a test mode the gauges go through to insure they are working properly. I don't know exactly what would happen if one of the gauges fails the test, but I am sure it would let you know somehow. Perhaps by being pegged at either end?

I have a 2013 Edge Limited purchased new here in Texas. On my window sticker under standard equipment included at no extra cost is listed Cargo Management System. Here are two pictures of the spare tire cover (factory 20" wheels, smaller spare) and the back side with the part number. The cover appears to be almost a hard fiber piece covered with a short nap cloth. Here is a topic I found doing a search on the forum which also explains the Cargo Management System with additional pictures. May have been an option on other models, but like I said, it was standard on my Edge Limited. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/918-rear-cargo-management-system/ The link is from 2007 so the option for it may have changed, but it looks very similar to what I have. Mine has more "pockets" or dividers in the frame around the spare for smaller items to be stored, instead of the two big areas like those pictures show. You also asked a question about the SoundScreen glass. Did you see my other reply and did you find it?
-
Welcome to the Edge ownership! It's funny how the car manufacturers package or name different packages. You called yours the Canadian Touring Package. I have the same equipment (except for the engine heater) but each item was an individual option, no package as such. Many cars and trucks down here in Texas have a Texas Edition or something similar. It may be extra chrome, sunroof, special decals, etc. Usually any equipment in it is lower in cost as a package, then if you order item by item. No such packages available when I purchased my 2013 Edge new.

Cleaning your windshield
ls973800 replied to Vortechtral's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Standing outside the car on the driver's side, look at the VIN plate at the bottom of the windshield. Look about 4 inches above that, and you will see "SoundScreen" on the windshield. You have a Limited model, so you have the SoundScreen. -
You have a 2008 which you purchased used. In the year you have owned it your paint is fading. When you bought it, there was no paint problem. If the problem had been in the first year or so of when the car was built, perhaps something would have been done then. Now, at 6 years old nothing will be done, unless Ford comes out with a special warranty for it. If the paint deteriorated so much in the one year you have owned it, there might be something else going on. The car may have been repaired and repainted by the previous owner, and then put up for sale. Have a body shop look at it to see if they can determine if it is repainted, or why it is fading.

Turn Signal Lever Hard To Move
ls973800 replied to TheWizard's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
edino, glad to hear you were able to fix the switch with no difficulty. I'll have to put this back on the list to do and get it done. -
Sounds like it might work out OK if Ford agrees with you.

Vinyl film Recommendations? Plasti-Dip?
ls973800 replied to Cabdog47's topic in Accessories & Modifications
If you have been looking around, that means you might have finally done a search. There are several good posts about how people have covered not only the chrome strip you want to, but also the chrome grill on the Limited and other models. Look under the different topics(Llights, Mods, etc) and you will find all kinds of discussions about things you have asked. Just click on the main topic heading to open all of the other posts in that category. -
Cleaning your windshield
ls973800 replied to Vortechtral's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
I have the SoundScreen Windshield with a rain sensor module near the top of the windshield. I've cleaned the inside of the windshield numerous times and have never scratched or damaged it. There is no film, plastic, etc on the surface of the glass. Everything is between the layers of glass. I've used Stoner's Invisible glass cleaner for a long time. I was always wanting to buy one of these tools to help clean the inside of the windshield. Last year I found a special that included a free can of the Invisible glass cleaner with the tool. I bought it and now always ask myself why I waited so long to get one! Makes the job a lot easier. http://www.invisibleglass.com/Products/automotive/tool -
If AWD I would have the PTU and axle shaft seals checked for leaks. Thinking about it, I would have the car inspected from underneath for any leaks, torn boots, etc.

Not good to hear. If the computer they had to update had to do with the emissions, and you are within the 80000 miles, I would contact the customer service reps here to see if they can help get your money back. Otherwise, if you are happy, then so be it.

OK, thanks for the info about the reminder letters.

Happy to hear you are legal once again! Sometimes the dealership is the best option, especially when it is covered under warranty.

I saw some owner's over on an F150 forum talking about the letter over the last week or so. Back in January of 2013 I received a letter, Customer Satisfaction Program 12M02, extending the warranty to 5 years, regardless of mileage, on the Accessory Protocol Interface Module. I'm not sure if this recent letter some owner's are receiving is different, but it sounds like it may be. Your letter and the ones I've read about on the F150 forum mention SYNC, not just the APIM. I will see if I get a follow up letter or not. Perhaps the Ford customer service or someone in the know can explain the two letters, and if there is any difference in what is covered.

Thank you for the clarification between the A3 card and the A4 card. My Edge was built 06/2012 and I purchased it 07/2012. It came with the A3 card and I did at least one update before the 3.6.2. I would swear that I didn't get the A4 card until doing the 3.6.2 update. I would check my history but it wont work. I can not get any info from the SyncMyRide.com site. I can sign in, but when I try to check for updates, or want to see my update history, this is what I get (this is only the first several lines of about 100 different script lines that I see) Problem with the Sync site, or my computer which never had this error before when using the Sync site? That was one of the main things on the website before updating to the 3.6.2 version. They specifically stated the card had to be upgraded to the A4 because the A3 would not work. You entered your information on the site, and Ford mailed the new card out to you. I got mine the very next day if I recall. The version before 3.6.2 would work with A3 from what I've read on these boards. I think Rebecca is mistaken with her facts about the A3 working with 3.6.2 Here's one discussion about when the 3.6.2 came out. The previous version (3.5?) was compatible with A3 or A4 Keep in mind that the SYNC updates sometimes require an update to the SD card. This is for the NAV system maps of the US/Canada. 3.6.2 does not require a new SD card (if you have NAV A4, printed prominently on the card label). These are mailed free from Ford and have to be on hand before updating SYNC (according to the instructions, which I followed with success). NAV A4 came for the 3.5.1 SYNC update. The syncmyride site has the necessary link when the SD card update is needed (i.e., obvious).
