These discs are genuine Ford products, not burned or copied I have 2 Ford service manuals on DVD. It covers the Ford Edge/Lincoln MKX plus other vehicles. I am only selling them as covering the Edge/MKX because I am sure these are on the discs. You would have to click on the master index and try loading each of the other vehicles to see if those volumes are included. If you have another vehicle you would like to see if it is included, send me a message and I can check for you. The first years covered are 2012-2013. You must use Adobe and a SVG viewer in order to read the electrical schematics and to use the 3D interactive views of various components. I downloaded each with no problem from the web. Because this disc has a date of July 2013, in order for you to view it on your computer, you must change the date (easy to do) while using the disc. You just backdate to within 3 months of the disc date and use it. When done, you just reset your computer back to the current date. The 2010-2011 disc also has other vehicles, but I haven't gone through them. It does not appear to have any interactive views, so that is something Ford must have added to later model manuals. This disc has a date of October 2013, so you would backdate your computer to around there. I am selling each disc for $50.00 which includes shipping to the lower 48 states. If you are interested but located somewhere else, let me know and we can check into other shipping methods. Paypal is preferred.

Like mentioned, if it is a decal, a hair dryer and then some Goo Gone or something similar to remove the adhesive left behind. If it is a stick on chrome, plastic, metal, etc emblem take a fine line such as fishing line and use it like a saw, cutting behind the emblem. Again, some type of adhesive remover may have to be used to get the left over residue.

Voice command button stopped working
ls973800 replied to merryxmas15's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
The changing of the color isn't that unusual. They is now a fix, but you have to go to the dealer to have it done. Something about it doesn't retain memory to hold your color selection. Mine changes within a week or so, as does the intensity always going to full. I may take it in soon now that there is a known fix. Just haven't heard of anyone with the problem having the fix applied yet.- 9 replies

Storing an Intelligent Key in Vehicle
ls973800 replied to JRY's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
OK, got it now, thanks. So it won't matter if I do pick up a used one, I won't have to have anything done to it and I will be able to re-program to my car. That's good to know. -

Thanks. So I either have to buy a new one that has never been programmed, or get a used one and have it un-linked or de-programmed. -

Thanks, omar302. I remember reading and participating in that post about the IA. I have mine hidden with a battery in it inside the car. I may consider taking the battery out and leaving it in the center slot like you had tested. What do you mean when you said it could not be un-linked, that only a dealer or locksmith can do that? Do you mean if I purchase a previously used one, it has to be un-linked from whatever vehicle it had been set up for? -
Does anyone have an X Plan pin they can share?
ls973800 replied to gmaghera's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Perhaps things have changed since 2003 when I received my PIN from a Ford employee who had told the dealership he/she had extra ones that could be used. Never had any problem using it, and the dealership is still in business with 4 locations, all Ford dealerships. -

ls973800 replied to gmaghera's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
When they give it to someone on blue oval forums they have personal contact with the person and have their personal info. So how do you know that the salesman didn't contact the employee and give them my information in order to use the X plan number? Same difference if I got it from them on line or through a salesman, as long as the employee has/had my information. What's the difference if the dealer talked to the employee on the phone with my information, or the employee got my information from me online? The employee doesn't really know me in either case, but can give the number based on having my information. Unless there was a hefty documentation fee they lost money. I have heard of dealers doing that but it's certainly rare since you can't stay in business if you do it too much. Like I said, I have every fee, charge, tax, etc on the bill of sale. There were no hefty doc fees, hidden charges, add-ons, etc. Do you actually know what factory to dealer incentives there were, or what "hidden" incentives or programs may have been in place when at least two dealers in this area sold at A plan prices? Of course not, and you nor I never will unless we happen to own a dealership. Sure, it is rare for a dealer to sell at those prices, but again, there is no way they are losing money on the deal. They also wouldn't jeopardize their franchise by doing something illegal or against Ford policy. Although I got the A plan price on the Edge, never did I sign any papers for the A plan program. It was a price the dealer gave me, verified by the invoice they also gave me, and also backed up with the final numbers on the bill of sale. -
Transmission question and service bulletin
ls973800 replied to Sandysage's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
Regardless of when you purchased your Edge, the new Ford parts warranty is something completely different! If you were to purchase a new transfer case now, it is covered for the 2 years, unlimited miles. If you bought new spark plugs now, they would be covered for 2 years, unlimited miles. Almost any new Ford part is now covered for 2 years, unlimited miles. I only mentioned the transmission because that is covered for 3 years, unlimited miles, regardless of it being new or rebuilt. It is a program Ford started back in October 2012 I believe. -
Not sure how these would look on a white Edge. Maybe too much of the same color? I think GM at one time painted some of their wheels to match the body color. Pontiac Bonneville SSEI might be one of the cars I am thinking about. http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/pts/4379426441.html

Several questions? Couldn't you just take the battery out to prevent it from discharging over a period of time? Did you buy a replacement IA with an uncut key insert, or get one of the used ones on eBay, etc that already had the key cut but are about half the price of a new one? Any trouble linking the key with the car or the other keys you have? I'm asking because I just looked last week at picking up an extra IA key. -
SYNC Made Texas The Largest State EVER!
ls973800 replied to ls973800's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
To Europe and back probable about 20 times, going from the middle of the country to the middle of Europe! Over the past two months or so a few strange things have happened. I've got right around 28000 miles and really never had any problems. This was the first time I've searched for a business in a long time without using the free "services" via the phone. Twice I've had the radio not shut off after turning off the car and opening and closing the driver's door, about 3 or 4 weeks between each time. It shut off once I re-entered the car, started it, and shut it off again. Any more strange occurrences (yes, the ambient lights lose memory and revert back to full strength and bluish tint) and I will take it to the dealer. Thanks, Rebecca. -
Does anyone have an X Plan pin they can share?
ls973800 replied to gmaghera's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
The Ford dealer I originally got an X plan pin from back in 2003 when I purchased my F150 was in a city surrounded by several different Ford manufacturing plants. They sold to many employees of Ford. Those employees have a certain number of X plan numbers they are allowed to give away. Nothing illegal or against the rules if they choose to pass them on to a buyer. Just like the websites you can find to ask for the X plan, what makes that OK for an employee to give a pin number? You don't have to work for one of those companies to use a X plan pin if you are given the number by a legitimate source. On the 2013 Edge, do I really believe the dealer lost money selling me a vehicle at A plan price? No way! I saw all of the figures and was provided a copy of the invoice showing the prices for X, A, D, and Z plans. The A plan price I was sold the vehicle at was $1675.51 less than the X plan I was eligible for through my employee! I also got all published and available rebates, incentives, etc. I got the A price on the contract, and can account for every other fee on the bill of sale. No games played with the selling price, trade in price, add on fees, etc. There was at least one other owner in my area who received the same price from a different dealer around the same time. He posted on here and we compared our prices on this forum, confirming the A plan price for both of us. On the invoice is stated "this invoice may not reflect the final cost of the vehicle in view of the possibility of future rebates, allowances, discounts and incentive awards from Ford Motor Company to the dealer" Of course the dealer isn't going to sell at a loss. Sure there could be hidden rebate or factory monies, but you and I will never see them, no matter how good of a negotiator we may be. Heck, it is rare for a buyer to be able to get the dealer to give up any of the hold back monies, but it does happen. Would the dealer be losing money then? No way, because we will never know the TRUE cost to the dealer for the vehicle. -

Don't forget that Ford now gives a 2 year unlimited miles warranty on parts and labor. If it was the transmission that needed replacing, it would come with a 3 year unlimited miles warranty. http://www.fordparts.com/FileUploads/RichTextboxImages/file/Service%20parts%20warranty%20statement_10.1.13.pdf?intcmp=newspw-warrantysummary -
Will wheels from 2012 edge limited fit 2010 flex?
ls973800 replied to Jackman5000's topic in Wheels & Tires
She should be able to install the band style TPMS onto the Edge wheels. Replacement bands are available since the factory ones are crimped and have to be cut off. All she would have to do is replace the bands and still use her old sensors. I went the other way and installed 20" Flex wheels on my 2013 Edge. -

I shut off the car, opened the door to kill any accessory power, and then restarted the car. Doing the search again, I got the normal read out with miles now within 5-25 miles. -
I put 6 quarts of oil into my 2013 Edge 3.5 engine and always replace the oil filter.

The other day I was waiting for my wife to arrive at DFW airport, and thought I would stop at a local parts store to get some Techron fuel system cleaner. I was in the city of Grapevine, Tx, and used that as the point to search from. Darn if I'm driving those distances to get a free bottle of Techron with the purchase of one!

I remember around 1994 or so when the F150 had a body style change. If you were in front of, or coming towards one of those newer F150's, you would be blinded because of the poor design of the headlights. I carpooled with a fellow worker who had one of those trucks. We would always be flashed by other drivers who thought his high beams were on. The article says the one engineer handles the lights with gloves. We don’t want to get fingerprints on the surface, because that would change the lens’ ability to spread the light evenly,” Teodecki said. Wonder what the light output and pattern will be like in the real world once they get bugs, dirt, mud, etc on the lense?

Very generous offer, mikesedge. Hopefully someone locally can use them.
