  1. The only thought I have is a bad battery if you still have the original. I've driven Fords and GMs that had batteries start to fail and all kinds of weird warning lights, etc came on.
  2. I still have these 20" wheels and tires. I have been able to talk to several people who are very interested in the trade/cash but the logistics aren't working out because they are not local and shipping is quite expensive. In addition to the 18" Edge wheels, I would also be interested in the 18" Explorer wheels from the new 2011-2012 XLT models They have the same specs and TPMS sensors as the Edge.
  3. Up through 2010, Ford used a 70.5 mm or 2.77 inch hub opening. The TPMS sensors also operated on a different frequency and were attached to the wheel with a band. On 2011 and newer, the hub opening is 63.4 mm or 2.5 inches. The TPMS sensors are attached to the valve stem body with no band and use a different frequency than 2010 and older. The sensors will not interchange from what I have been told. All years do use the 5 X 4.5 or 114.3 mm wheel stud spacing.
  4. Looking on the Ford website for locating 2013 Escapes, I have found some Titanium packages. The prices are showing MSRP from about $32500.00 to $35800.00! This is the reason I went with a 2013 Edge Limited with the 301A package, towing, Blis package, and 20" chrome clad wheels. I paid $35717.00 for the Edge. I wasn't about to pay only a little less for a smaller car with less options. I also saw where some of the new Escapes are being built in Kentucky, but some are also being or going to be imported from South Korea. That alone is a deal breaker for me if it was from South Korea.
  5. Hard to say when you don't give enough information to base an opinion. How long of a term? How many miles? What is the MSRP of the car? What money factor are they using? Does the 3000 down include the rebate and finance incentive if you are using Ford leasing? What does the trade have to do with the deal? Are they cutting you a check for the trade or using some of that money for your down payment? Have you checked KBB, Edmunds, NADA, or any other sources to get an idea what your trade is worth?
  6. was I found the Bankston Ford prices on line here in the Dallas area and talked to a salesman. Some of their new 2013 Edges are listed at Ford A and Z plan prices BEFORE any rebates! There were no dealer add on's such as tinted windows, nitrogen filled tiers, special wax, etc. I was treated the best I have ever been at a car dealership, and there was absolutely no pressure or games played. the only draw back is that I am 50 miles from their nearest location and they didn't have what I wanted in stock, although they were willing to bring one in from one of their other dealerships. I ended up buying a new 2013 Limited at a local dealer who honored the Bankston price and had the exact car in stock. Total off MSRP after rebates was $5812. I did pay $200.00 over the A plan price for front window tint, nitrogen filled tires, wheel locks, all season Ford rubber floor mats, and the rear cargo shade/cover. These items were all dealer installed as a part of the purchase.
  7. You do realize that shipping is going to be a killer for you to pay if we trade wheels? My tires have 500 miles on them, what mileage do you have? What brand are your tires? These pictures were taken in the garage using a flash. There are no scratches, scrapes, defects, etc on the wheels. Very poor results from taking with a flash. I can post outside pictures tomorrow if you are really interested.
  8. I just removed the rear headrests from the second row of my 2013 Limited. WOW! there is a window back there that I can now see in my rearview mirror. I keep the middle arm rest down so that non-removable headrest is not in the way either. The cords were attached to the headrest metal bars which slide into the attachment points on top of the seat. They came right out with the headrests.
  9. I know there are many back up sensors and even front sensors that are aftermarket and can be installed inexpensively. Doing a quick Google search only brought up several companies that make them for the automotive OEM industry.
  10. Lowe's Home Center and probably Home Depot. Lowe's has a huge selection of plugs in various sizes. You can find different finishes including chrome, or you can paint your own to blend in.
  11. I thought maybe I was missing something when I first read this post. The shelf tray that is shown in the parts diagram was already in the 2013 Edge Limited I just purchased 7/13/2012, which had a build date in June. Perhaps the trays are missing from earlier build vehicles, or it's included with the Limited? I don't know, but am glad I don't have to buy one.
  12. Mel, I'm not sure what size tires the 17 inch are, but the 20's are 245/50/20. I will guess the 17's are 235/65/17. Use this tire calculator to see what the differences in size does to the RPM's of the tire, the height, width, speedometer reading, etc. I think you will see there really isn't that much of a change. I'm looking to downsize my 20's to 18's (245/50/18) and it's an almost even match up! http://www.miata.net...e/tirecalc.html
  13. This is an old topic I realize, but having just picked up a 2013 Limited last week I have some free time today and am reading many of the posts on here. I noticed the same lighting setup on my cup holders. I have a small hit list of items to be taken care of when I go in for my first service. I guess I can cross off the "Dim light in front cup holder". I wonder if an additional light could be tapped into the wires and installed in front of the front cup holder? Sure would look a lot nicer being brighter instead of looking like a bulb is burned out!
  14. Shipping would be the biggest concern. I have a classified ad posted here where I am looking to trade my wheels and tires plus get an additional $500.00 I've had several private messages of owners wanting to do this, but shipping has been the biggest hurdle. Oh well, eventually someone in the DFW area will find the ad and we can do it in person.
  15. Nope, the Class II Factory Trailer Tow Package (RPO 53G) includes hitch receiver, larger radiator, upgraded cooling fans, wiring harness with 4-pin connector and trailer sway control. The MSRP listed price is $395.00. It has a towing capacity of 3500 lbs. Like I mentioned, I wanted to find one here in Texas strictly for the additional cooling. I've never towed anything in over 44 years of driving, and don't plan on starting now.
  16. I'm not sure about the hub bore size, but have heard that Ford changed the way the TPMS is attached to the wheels. I believe for 2011 and newer they are built into the bottom of the valve stem. Prior to 2011, they attached to the wheel with a band (?) and may have also used a different frequency to transmit to the car. I don't know if an older TPMS will be read properly by a newer vehicle. More research for me to do. Well, what's to work out? You need about $650.00 worth of tires, $500.00 to me for the trade, and shipping each way to be paid by you. I think you might be better buying off eBay or your local classified ads or salvage yards.
  17. Congratulations on your new purchase. I just picked up my 2013 Edge Limited on Saturday from Rockwall Ford here in the metroplex area. Having traded in a 2003 F150 with almost 170000 miles, all I can say is this Edge is fantastic! I found one with the towing package and the Bliss blind spot system. I'm not planning on doing any towing but wanted the tow package for the additional cooling features here in the Texas heat.
  18. Thanks for the info about using the nav settings to help clean up the screen. I'll have to look for it when I'm going through the SYNC system. I've read the owner's manual and the Getting to Know Sync booklet, but don't recall seeing anything about using the settings.
  19. I have to agree with you 100% about it being stupid. It is also useless and unnecessary, in my opinion. This is the first Ford I've had with factory nav, and compared to my previous GM's, this nav is somewhat behind the curve in some aspects. The GM's don't have an annoying flashing circle and you can edit some of the info off the screen. My gosh, this Ford screen is cluttered with information overload! Maybe that's why they have the circle blinking, so you can find your vehicle on the map! So far I am very impressed with the Edge and it's handling, MPG, ride and comfort.
  20. I know this is an older post with no replies, but are you still looking for the 20's? Just picked up a 2013 today with those wheels and tires and want to sell/trade them.
  21. I tried a search and didn't find anything. Just picked up a 2013 Limited with Nav. When I have the nav on showing the map, my vehicle is denoted as a red arrow. There is a white circle which surrounds the red arrow and it blinks on and off, about every second or two. Can this be shut off, or what is it. Didn't find anything in the owner's manual about it. For that matter, the manual left alot of unanswered questions regarding the nav. I'll work on this one first. Thanks, Steve
  22. Mike, I will be glad to post the pictures, but it won't be until Monday or Tuesday. The wheels are the 20" like you can see on the 2012's also. Would wheels from the 2007 fit a 2013? I thought I read that there was a change somewhere around 2010? Steve
  23. NO LONGER LOOKING FOR THE ALLOY WHEELS- Please close this topic
  24. My state taxes the price before you deduct incentives so I lose a lot of the incentives in 6% sales tax, what a bummer On a $1000.00 rebate you only "lose" $60.00 if you are taxed at 6%! I don't think getting $940.00 of "free" money is a bummer at all!
  25. My biggest question would be about the warranty. It doesn't sound like you got a Ford Factory backed warranty, but instead got an aftermarket one. I would check some of the online prices with different Ford dealers who sell the factory warranty at a discount if your dealer didn't offer the ESP one, or if he didn't want to deal on it. Too many horror stories about aftermarket coverage not covering items as well as a Ford warranty, or who will or will not accept aftermarket warranties for payment of repairs. With a Ford warranty, any dealer in the US (and probable Canada) would honor it. Just something to think about since you mentioned it and the price you paid for it.
