Nope, no such settings showing Normal or Enhanced on my 2013 Limited. When I set to Trip Odometer, there are only two choices, Trip 1 or Trip 2. They just show the miles, nothing showing for fuel used. There are several things removed from the 2013's that I've noticed reading posts on this forum. The fuel used is one of them.

I've had the clear film installed on 2 cars, both of which were white. I am going to be adding it to my white Edge within the next several weeks. It is noticeable from certain angles, but if you are a short distance away, you really can't see it. It looks a lot better than paint chips and dings. I've got it 24 inches on the hood, matching length on the front fenders, mirrors, front bumper, fog lights, and head lights of my wife's MDX. I'll be doing the same coverage on the Edge. The only other solution if you want to avoid paint chips would be the old style black leather bras. No way would I even consider one of those anymore, even if the car wasn't white or black!

I just checked my tires while I was out, and they are Pirelli Scorpion SRT. Not sure if the Verde is a different model.

2009 Lincoln MKX Towing
ls973800 replied to petersen302's topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
My 2013 Edge Limited came with the towing package from the factory. It says it includes the Class II hitch, trailer sway control (turned on or off through the driver's information center), larger radiator, upgraded cooling fans, wiring harness w/4 pin connector, and a 3500 lb towing maximum capacity. It says nothing about a transmission cooler upgrade or addition. Perhaps the larger radiator is the upgrade for the transmission cooling? You have a larger engine so I don't know if anything changed for the 3.7 MKX. I don't see a towing option for the Edge Sport (3.7 engine) so I can't tell if anything else would be different on yours. Have you checked the Lincoln website to see if anything is listed there? Here is a quick link where they talk about the tow/sway option. You might have to dig deeper to see what other items are included. http://www.lincoln.com/crossovers/mkx/features/#page=Feature7 -
I think they took away the gallons used info on the 2013 model. I can't find it anywhere on my Limited. I'll have to compare the computer MPG readout with a hand calculation next time I fill up. Never even thought to do so because I've been pleased with the results from the computer. I guess a reality check never hurt anything, right? :fear:

I saw the rocker panel like what you are showing on the red Edge. I could almost swear I saw the same shape but in the body color (White) on another Edge at the show. I'm going back again Saturday and will take a closer look to see what I actually saw! That was the first impression I got when I saw it, it looked almost like mini running boards. Very nice addition to your Edge!

I've got the factory 245/50/20 Pirelli's on my 2013 Edge. Before I really drove it, the first thing I thought I was going to do was get the Pirell's replaced because of a previous car I had with Pirelli's. I now have almost 5000 miles on them and really like the way they ride and handle. Fantastic in the rain, very smooth (considering they are 20's) and quiet. So far I have no complaints about them what so ever, and they are rated pretty well on the Tire Rack site.

Congrats on the new Edge! I am very interested to see what the new rocker panels will look like on your Limited. I was at the Texas State Fair earlier this week where they also have a car show as a part of the fair. I was looking at some of the Edges and noticed immediately how much nicer the rocker panels on the Sport model looked (body color vs the black on mine). It also seemed to be a different shape than mine, but there were no Limited's there to compare against. Is the SEL also body color or a different shape?

It is my understanding that the TPMS system is the same on the 2007-2010 models. They use a sensor which is attached to the inside of the wheel with a band which wraps around the wheel. They also operate on one certain frequency which is common on those model years. In 2011 the TPMS sensor was changed and it is attached to the valve core stem. It is held in place by the use of a screw which holds it to the bottom of the valve core inside the wheel. The system uses a different frequency (315 I believe) and that is different than the 2007-2010 models. The 22's from the 2009 should work without having to change anything. Your tire light on the dash might stay on for awhile until the computer recognizes the new/different sensors. When I replaced my wheels with different sensors, the light stayed on for about 15 miles and didn't go off until I was on a freeway and driving about 60MPH for a few miles.

The hub size changed on the 2011 models. Anything from a 2010 Edge and older will fit your 2007. You can also check and find other Ford wheels which have a similar opening as yours. I believe the new Explorers have the larger openings. Start checking edBay for Ford wheels and ask the seller what size the opening is. You should be able to get a good idea what other models of Fords will fit yours. I found all this out when I replaced the factory 20" wheels on my 2013 Edge Limited. I ended up with some wheels from a Ford Flex which also uses the smaller opening.
-
Your 2007 has a larger hub opening size than the 2011 model. Yours has a 70.5 mm (almost 2.77 inch) opening. The 2011 has a smaller size of 63.4 mm (almost 2.5 inch). Some people have reportedly enlarged the opening by paying a machine shop to do so. I personally would not do this due to cost and weakening of the wheel structure. I know it is only 1/4 of an inch or so, but I would find other wheels. Your TPMS sensors are also completely different (the way they attach and the frequency they send on) than the ones used on the 2011. You would have to transfer yours onto the new wheels.

I've usually only seen pads wear excessively on one side like you mention when the caliper isn't free to slide back and forth when the brakes are applied and released. There are pins or keys which have to be kept cleaned and lubed for the caliper to slide on. You should be able to hold onto the caliper and slide it back and forth when the brakes are not applied. If it is hard to move or doesn't move at all, it needs to be cleaned and lubed properly. The calipers are not retracting properly and keeping a constant pressure on those inside pads, resulting in excessive wear on just the one side. Or the pistons themselves are not retracting and keeping those pads against the rotor. Hard to believe it would happen on all 4 brakes, but it could depend on the past maintenance and where/how/in what it's been driven.

Either they lowballed your trade by a few thousand (regardless of what carmax offered), kept additional incentives they didn't tell you about or that's not really the dealer invoice price. Yes, there are additional incentives they don't tell you about (factory to dealer only) and yes, that really isn't the "real" invoice of what the dealership actually ends up paying for the car. On the bottom of every "invoice" I've ever received or seen from a dealer (GM and Ford) there is ALWAYS a disclaimer on the bottom. The one on the Edge invoice I received says "This invoice may not reflect the final cost of the vehicle in view of the possibility of future rebates, allowances, discounts and incentive awards from the Ford Motor Company to the dealer." GM invoices say basically the same thing. Of course they aren't losing money due to the additional, factory to dealer, etc spiffs they receive. Only a select few in the dealership really know how much that vehicle really cost, and it sure isn't the "invoice" price. Pretty hard to get "lowballed" on a trade if you do your homework by checking the various used car price guides and get several trade in values. You also can watch the classified ads and see how much private owner's are asking and how much dealer's are asking on their used car lots. It's all about being well informed. For as good of a deal that I received, and for as good of a deal that Texasopa received, there is no doubt in my mind that the dealer made money. Out of that profit the dealer has to pay the salesman his commission, pay for the lights, advertising, additional personnel such as porters, phone operators, insurance, etc. There is no way a dealership would sell a vehicle at a true loss to them, except for very special circumstances. I know our deals didn't meet those special circumstances by a long shot. As for floor planning (the interest on the monies paid by the dealer to have inventory) there is usually a grace period (30 days in most cases) where no interest is charged. That is one reason dealers make a few more dollars on an ordered unit instead of the same priced one sitting on their lot for over 30 days or whatever the grace period is. I also worked the business for several years.

In July when I purchased my 2013 Edge Limited, I was eligible for the X plan price, and thought that was the best I could do. My window sticker was 41530.00 and the invoice was 39121.67. The X plan price would have been 39240.18. Before buying, I happened to check the internet and found a group of dealers under the name Auto Nation. They have several Ford stores here in the Dallas area, and had advertised what Edges they had in stock, and what the prices were. Imagine my surprise when I found them to have similar Edges like I was looking for with the price of 37564.67. This was 1676.00 BELOW the X plan price. It is actually the A & Z plan price which is reserved for Ford employees. I went to the dealer and there were no games being played. His price was in fact the A & Z price, and I was still eligible for any rebates, special financing, etc which was in place. I didn't end up buying from them because they were 60 miles away from where I live. I did get the SAME price from where I was going to buy with the X plan after showing them the internet site of the other dealer, and their prices posted. I also got several rebates ($2000.00 at that time, and a low finance rate. I paid $200.00 over the A plan price to have the windows tinted, nitrogen in the tires, factory rubber all weather floor mats front and rear, and the factory cargo shade security cover. There were no other dealer fees or advertising fees paid. I do have a copy of the dealer invoice showing all of these prices and feel that I got the best deal I could. I am very pleased with my deal and the Edge. As a note, the hold back amount listed on the invoice is $1221.00, not just a few hundred dollars as has been posted earlier. Just to clarify, I am not and never have been an employee of Ford. I was eligible for the X plan through work, but never qualified for the A, Z, or D plans as such.

No, I don't have sensors for these wheels. I did order some center caps for them from eBay and am waiting for them to be delivered. Hopefully they are the correct ones. You can find factory Ford take off sensors on eBay for between $60.00-$85.00 for a new set of 4.
-
You can use them, but the light on the dash will stay on. Some people actually put a piece of black electrical tape over the light to hide it. You can find replacement TPMS sensors on eBay, Amazon, etc. I just purchased a set of 4 Ford factory ones that had been removed from some take off wheels. I paid $84.00 for the set which included shipping. Got them installed into my new wheels and they work fine. I left the factory ones in the wheels I removed so the person who buys the wheels won't have to purchase another set. Your 2008 Edge uses a different sensors than the 2011 and newer edges. Yours use a flat type sensor which is attached to the inside of the wheel with a band which wraps around the wheel and holds the sensor in place. The 2011 and newer use a sensor which is held in place by the valve which is attached to the wheel. The two different types of sensors also use a different frequency to communicate with the module. You can not switch the different type sensors and have them work. You have to stay with what you have if you decide to purchase some.

See, even us guys do stupid things. Last year I backed my F150 with an ARE cap halfway into the garage. I opened the tailgate and the one piece window on the cap to unload my wife's luggage after coming home from the airport. I carried her bags into the house and went back out to finish putting the truck away. I closed the tailgate but for some reason left the window open. I backed the rest of the way into the garage, and BAM, loud noise and flying glass everywhere. That sucker just exploded when it hit the rear wall. $650.00 later for just the glass replacement, and I'm still finding little pieces of dark tinted glass behind things in the garage. If the tailgate had been down, it might have put a hole into the back way so it could have been even more expensive.

Finally got the Flex 20's on the wifes' Edge with pics
ls973800 replied to ioldsnut's topic in Wheels & Tires
Well, after seeing your wheels from the Flex, I decided to go with them also. I purchased some off eBay (no where near the FANTASTIC deal you got!) and this week will get the 20" chrome clad ones taken off. I'll use my tires from the factory wheels and have picked up some new TPMS sensors for a good price. Once I get them transferred, I'll put mine up for sale. -
Selling 4 X 18" Chrome-Clad Rims from my 2013 Edge Limited AWD
ls973800 replied to StraytEdge's topic in Wheels & Tires
FYI, I wish you well on the sale of your wheels, but I suggest you check some Edge wheels on eBay to see what the going prices are on them. People are paying less for 20" chrome clad ones with tires, and even able to buy 22" Sport ones for less. -
2011 20" chrome wheels - width and back spacing?
ls973800 replied to rrose's topic in Wheels & Tires
Here's a link to one on eBay showing the specs as 40mm backspace and 8 inches wide. http://www.ebay.com/itm/FORD-EDGE-2011-2011-Wheel-Rim-Factory-OEM-3847-MCCCC-5-SPLIT-SPOKES-/180981564277?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a23578375&vxp=mtr -
Earlier today, I ran up to the store. While walking through the parking lot I saw an Edge with the 18" chrome clad wheels. On EACH AND EVERY outer edge of the wheels were those knock on wheel weights! You know, the kind that you hammer on in order to clip onto the wheel. Some of these weights were huge, about 1 1/2 to 2 inches long! That just ruined those chrome clad snap on plastic wheels when those weights were put on or when they are removed to be rebalanced. The sad part is that the Edge itself looked like it was well cared for and the wheels themselves were in excellent shape (were being the operative word!). Just plain old stupidity by the tire jock who caused this damage! I am getting the tires removed from my 20" chrome clad wheels because I have found some other wheels to put on. They don't have a single scratch on them and you bet I will be pointing this out to who ever removes these tires. They will be told right up front that any damage done, and they just bought some wheels!
