Aftermarket audio wiring harness recommendations
securinu replied to aldur99's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
you can add steering wheel control back to the unit as long as the kenwood has the wire on the back to accept it. we do them all the time. -
you wont need any adapter all you need to do is pull the plastic off the factory antenna connector and mount the unit in the same spot. The antenna will slip right onto the tuner just use a touch of silicone to keep it in place . then you can use the power from the factory harness as it has power and ground that the new tuner needs. then all you will need to do is run the data cable forward.
-
http://www.xm-radio-satellite.com/index.as...&ProdID=280 will extend the factory antenna forward.
-
so people will buy the oil filter for the engine but wont spend a few dollars to filter the air you breathe. Thats an interesting healthplan.
-
just a heads up for other edge / MKX owners with light interiors we sell the grill cloth in tan or gray if you decide to do this so it will match a whole lot closer than the black that comes with the stealthbox.
-
should be the liftgate motor is the size of the old pocket . i put a 4 channel amp behnd the factory sub box that will need to move when i get my stealthbox but i pulled the whole back apart to dynamat it and there was plenty of room.
-
Why didnt you put the amp behind the other side panel so the seats will still go all the way down?there is plenty of room on the driver side for it.

Update on Steeda CAI and Gibson mods
securinu replied to Edge184's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
that seems odd i went to palm springs from nor cal last year with stock setup except for drop in k& N filter. It was 450 miles one way we averaged close to 90 the whole way including going over the grapevine. Both ways we averaged 20.2 mpg with 4 guys 4 golf bags and 4 suitcases and a cooler filled with bevarages. so needless to say we were loaded down to the hilt. I used the cruise the whole time except for the stupid LA traffic. -
I have had people say they cant see my brake lights. Also i replaced one about 4-5 months ago bulb was burned out and there is no indication on the dash. I bought a pack of 2 so i just replaced both sides.

The cold air shield is way to tall from the pics i am guessing a nibbler would take care of that but the kit overall looks like @ss to me. As far as the pinch weld i would assume that is what there using on the top of the shield , the easiet way to get it to work is throw it in the dryer and then it becomes very workable. I would expect to see something like this if it came out a month after the vehicle hit the ground but its been 2 years this month. Come on Steeda you shpuld be ashamed of this , i could have produced this in my shop at home for far less money . No offense to you EDGE184 but i would be wanting $ back.

this is the one you need and will work for the nav unit http://www.aboutsecurityconcepts.com/Produ...oductCode=PXAMG

dont use alcohol or windex (ammonia) as they dry the material out and obviously never use them together. I have a bottle of vinyl cleaner that works great use it on the door panel center console steering wheel and seats.

Audiovox monitors like most of there other stuff is junk . Go with Vizualogic or myron and davis. A little more $ but well worth it.

securinu replied to BlazedUp's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?sho...ic=2821&hl= I have the wire with the pins to fit in the switch there $15 shipped if you want a set -
yes you can it makes it simple but you can get them all inside as well and save the money. we sell the harness and antenna and kit and stock them if your interested. We also have the steering wheel control as well.
-
Peripheral will have a sirius option thru the factory deck in a month or so you will also have ipod and hd radio as an option.
-
You can go with the peripheral piece it will charge and bring the text to the factory radio. We stock them and it is a 15 minute install that requiers 2 plugs to be pulled from the radio and a t harness put in between. It will charge when car is on and you can also add hd radio if you want. A bluetooth option will be availabe in a month or so. We sell a ton of these as it is a very simple install and no programming required like other kits, plus you can keep your sat radio if you have it.

Integrated turn signals in side mirrors
securinu replied to MustangMike's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Or if you want something that doesnt look like a pipmle on your mirror you can wait another month or so til Muth mirrors has a kit for the edge. I am an installer for them and am waiting on a prototype kit to put on my edge. You actually replace the glass like the one on the chevys or older fords . -
Longer OEM antenna for Ford Edge
securinu replied to Kanatronic's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
first off sat radio didnt file bankruptcy and second if the radio cut out under a tree whoever insatlled the antenna did it wrong. -
you wont be able to add the factory switches as they go to the control box then to the heaters unless you buy all that plus the new harness for the interior. its going to be much easier to put in aftermarket heaters . The benefit is they are going to be able to do back only also for people with back problems . http://www.checkcorp.com/seat-heater/seat-heaters.asp

Speaker Upgrade 09 Edge: need tutorial
securinu replied to trelli86's topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
And thats why no one gets good customer service anymore. Hopefully your job will be outsourced as well. Maybe try this, go to a car audio store listen to several and pick the one that sounds best to you. Every speaker sounds different to everyone and this is why there are so many brands. Then Decide wether you want to put them in or have the shop do them. the edge has very easy doorpanels to remove but if your not comfortable with it have them do it. Remember it may be cheaper to have them do it than to have to buy a new door panel that you break if you dont know how to remove it.
