I'v had the Morimoto 35w, 5000k (9006)bulbs on my 2013 Edge Sport for awhile now. Im very happy with the briteness & color quality. My only complaint is when I crank up my Edge & my lights are on AUTO, 50% of the time my driver's side headlight does not turn on. I have to cycle the lights to off & then turn them back to ON or AUTO again before that light will turn on. Sometimes I have to do it several times or turn lights to OFF & wait a couple minutes before switching back to ON or AUTO before that light turns on. It's very frustrating, not sure what is causing this. Anyone else have this same problem or know how to fix it? Im at my wits end here, it's embarrassing when it happens in public. :( Im about ready to switch back to the original bulbs, which totally suck!! Please help

what a pain in the a$$ day for morimoto install. got my kit went out and got a 7/8 drill bit like the instructions say. hooked every thing up (had a hard time getting the passenger side grounded) went to pull the wire thru the 7/8 holes and the connectors do not fit through. All the hardware stores are closed so I had to pull everything back out and put the halogens back in.. now I have to wait until next weekend before I get a chance to try again.

GRRRR

Has anyone else ran in to this issue?

Thanks

Colin

Yes I agree with the head light issue, just have my 2013 edge 2 weeks, headlights are to weak.My old 2002 exporer had a lot better light.

My question also is : if changing to HID ,do the ballast need to be changed and is it acceptable by ford for warranty issues?

Thanks Eddy

Before spending money on aftermarket headlight kits, try aiming the factory halogen projectors properly. It seems that the vast majority of Edge projector lamps come from the factory improperly aimed. I too had planned on doing an "upgrade" until I happened to be sitting in the driveway with the garage door closed and saw how badly aimed the lights were. After adjusting the aim, I am more than satisfied with the factory lights... the halogen projectors are significantly better than any halogen reflector headlights (including an '02 Explorer) once you get used to the sharply cutoff beam pattern.

I've been running them in my '12 since day 1 and I've been extremely happy. Same kit same bulbs, too.

Having said that, Nick has been very vocal over this issue over the years. I know exactly where he is coming from. You won't get ideal performance nor lighting from HID retrofits in our halogen projectors, but, I am not hindering nor causing any danger to opposing/oncoming drivers so I am OK with my decision (retrofits in a reflector housing, however, is just a d!ck move).

Ideal setup? No. Perfectly acceptable results? Yes.
