One is a grocery getter and the other is a work vehicle that drives primarily on the interstate. View the videos and see the difference. Anyway, the thing to remember is, if the problem is mild-moderate, over time, these products can be somewhat effective. But if the problem is moderate-severe, then you really shouldn't be trying to clean anything while the engine is turned on/vehicle is in motion. If chunks break off, that can have major downstream consequences for the exhaust system, and much worse in turbocharged engines. At that point, it would be best to take the lower intake manifold off and clean the valves cylinder by cylinder. Cleaning the piston tops is a different challenge, they can be cleaned in non-DI engines through the spark plug hole, with patience and persistence. So Techron CP type products should be considered more "preventive" than "curative". And it does not hurt to change the oil shortly after you have run through that tank. Yes the byproducts in the oil may be minimal, but why risk it. So time the cleaning accordingly. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
