jmr061
Ford did recently come out with a customer satisfaction program for the 1.5L in some vehicles (not the edge) for the same type of problem. Eventually if a CSP would come out for the 2.0 in the Edge owner's would be eligible for reimbursement. There is some hope based on the CSP for the 1.5L. Cross your fingers, keep poking the bear perhaps, etc and maybe wishes will come true.
Haz
As you mention, Ford just extended to November 30, 2022 the Customer Satisfaction Program (19B37, 21N12) for coolant intrusion on the 1.5L Ecoboost in certain 2017-2019 Escape & Fusion models with no mileage limit. That Program's refund policy for affected Escape & Fusion owners, per the Owner Extension Letter, is... "If you paid to have this service done before the date of this letter, you may be eligible for a refund. Refunds will only be provided for service related to an engine short block or head gasket replacement due to coolant intrusion into the engine cylinder bores. To verify eligibility and expedite reimbursement, give your paid original receipt to your dealer before November 30, 2022. To avoid delays, do not send receipts to Ford Motor Company." Good luck!

My '18 Edge just rolled over 33,000 miles and I am experiencing coolant drop, CEL for misfire in cylinder 1 and rough idle and white smoke at start up. My wife and I love the Edge and if I have to cough up the money for a new engine, then so be it. I can only pray for reimbursement. Does anyone know if there is a waiting period for a replacement motor? I hate being a pessimist, but I have a feeling a motor replacement is inevitable at this time. Pam LCB
I don’t have an Eco boost engine. The water pump has been suggested, I’m more inclined to think computer or drive train related. Putting the car in neutral will bring the temp gauge down to normal. It’s definitely a head scratcher

What are the issues you're having and what have you looked at?
Jhensley1607
Add another one to the list. 2016, just turned 70K miles, and thankfully got the Carmax Maxcare warranty. Maintained to a tee like all my cars. Had a rough idle, and then a day later a CEL. Opened the hood and was astounded to find the coolant resevoir almost empty. Pulled codes and got the P301, then looked on here and knew I had an issue. Must have started pretty quickly - I always eyeball the coolant tanks when checking oil, etc under the hood. It's been at the Ford dealer for 8 days, still waiting for the Maxcare warranty inspector to go visit and confirm it's toast (Dealer said they have to do this all the time). Update - was out of commission for 3 weeks at the Ford dealer but just got it back with a new 2022 Valencia produced long block. Thanks to Carmax warranty was $300 instead of the $7,940 total on the 6 page bill.
UntitledCackle
Are there any reports of this affecting Edges from 2019 and onward even if unacknowledged by this TSB?

Edgy2019
My wife’s 2019 Ford Edge Ecoboost was sputtering during acceleration between the 1500 and 2300 RPM range in traffic. I changed the spark plugs thinking that may help. Now, the car idles rough, acts like it wants to die, and smells like rotten eggs from the exhaust. Any suggestions?? 1004ron
The rotten egg smell from the exhaust is the reaction of unburnt fuel in the Catalytic Convertor, and will shorten the life of the CAT. Get the error codes read - it could be a misfire due to a bad coil, or a bad injector, but the codes will be a good starting point.
Edgy2019
Thanks for the reply. I don’t have any error codes or a CEL. I just tried starting it again after leaving the battery unplugged for the day (not that it would help) and it smells like it’s running rich. Perblue
Take it to the dealer the drive train is covered for 5 years 60k miles. Otherwise double check that the coil packs are seated right and that the connectors to them are fully plugged in and not loose, what you did shouldn't make it run worse. Don't need the CEL on for codes to be stored. What's the mileage and is still under warranty?
Edgy2019
I didn’t know I could pull codes without the Check Engine Light on. There are 68k miles on it so it is out of warranty unfortunately.

Best get a decent OBDII device and with that use Forscan to scan for codes, or try Autozone or places like that.
Edgy2019
Well everyone, Thank you for the reply’s and help. Took it to our family mechanic (25years as a Ford Mechanic). He said that I am getting coolant in cylinders 3&4 and that apparently the Edges had that problem. Looks like I’m going to have to buy a motor. Rdgtchr
That same thing happened to me with my 2015 Escape at about the same mileage. If you frequent a Ford dealer go there first or go where you bought the car if it was a Ford dealership. They get $ from Ford to use for good customers for things like this. Then call corporate and talk to them about this. We did both of these things and because we are long time Ford owners (they can look it up and see) they worked with us and we were only out of pocket $2500. Not $0 but a lot less than the original. I just bought a 2021 Edge, I hope this doesn’t happen again! ?
Mister Bill
I have a 2018 Edge 2.0, 80k miles in my shop with the water intrusion issue. Low compression on #4. I understand the issue was resolved with the 2020 model year engine. I have a question, perhaps for a Ford tech. Can I replace the engine with a 2020 model from a wrecked vehicle? Is the long block assy the same externally?, What compatibility issues might I face? I have searched and can not find the info. Thank you.
