  1. So, had ours done at the dealer since it was mandatory (early 2011 model so they wouldn't send us the install kits). Didn't replace the apim to my knowledge and now, less than 1 week later mega crash today. Half the graphics froze up, took about 5 minutes of semi visible screen and intermittent functionality then it just went black, rebooted itself and on the rest of the drive about 1/2 the streets in the nav worked (in an area where they all did before). Going to go for another drive in a bit but not confidence inspiring to say the least and I've been a defender of Ford from the beginning but this isn't cool.
  2. Might be the dealer. I had to educate our service rep that the early 11s needed in-shop work due to a potential compatibility issue. My guess is either that is your issue or they have bad internet and aren't able to download the update properly. Once I had them pull the code from our letter they saw what I was talking about and were off. It's getting done now actually. Did you also get the letter saying it had to be done at the dealer?
  3. Our early model 2011 is one of these. Have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow. I called and the rep said "something in the dash may need to be replaced during the process with certain early model units" during the upgrade. As long as they have a nav card (verified after a torturous call explaining ours would not be mailed out) and the update works it's all good. Hopefully this is a one time shot and I'll be able to use syncmyride.com going forward as I did previously. Having to go to the dealer to perform future updates would suck.
  4. Unfortunately ours is low in pressure again after the stem replacement and dismount/remount.
  5. I just got a letter that says I have to make an appointment at my dealer to get this done (early 2011 Sport) (which matches what it said on the syncmyride site). !!??! WTF??! Are they replacing hardware too or just decided to stop mailing usb drives and nav cards? If I make an appointment, waste half a day them am told my nav won't work until the new card comes in the mail I'm going postal.
  6. Restore 2 features I like now... Outside temp on home screen Show song title/artist on home screen in bottom corner instead of "entertainment" And no more crashes and I'll be happy! (Assuming our usb and nav cards ever show up)
  7. When I log in to syncmyride is just says it needs a dealer install and to click there for a printout and that fees may apply!?!? WTF!!?? We're at 2.11 already and have NAV so I am really hoping we get the upgrades in the mail because I want to do it myself and sure am not paying a dealer to do so for warranty work. We never got the letter either... hrmmm, frustrating.
  8. Sweeet, can't wait for ours to show with (hopefully) the NAV card.
  9. LOL Thanks for the share but is a video needed, really? Plug in, push screen buttons, WAIT, occupy time by watching MPG drop!
  10. Gap here on our 11, never would have noticed until I read it here tho.
  11. Pics please! Did you Edge have Navi and was an updated SD card included with the thumb drive?
  12. Our has done that twice... I'm guessing within a day or two it'll crash and reboot which resolves the issue (for a while). Can always do a manual reset yourself and it'll come back too. It did "fix itself" once just by stopping, powering off and restarting the car.
  13. Ditto. Can't even count the number of people who complimented them then were shocked that they were factory rims. Not sure why you'd buy the Sport if you didn't like them other than color matched rocker panels maybe!? It's not like the 3.7 is that much faster (not at all with those beasties on it's feet).
  14. Both mentioned above will affect your mileage. Going from 60-65 to 65-80 will make a significant impact as will winter gas. The blend is different and usually results in 1-2mpg lower not to mention the cold air = increased HP = slightly lower mileage. I'm guessing once spring breaks and you travel closer to 65 you'll see around 24-26mpg highway.
  15. Had ours reseeded and valve stem replaced (twice), got another slow leak again today
  16. I don't think it's normal but the important part is your dealer. I've had cars with some small issues that became huge because of bad dealer service and big issues that weren't so bad because of good. If you have a good dealership service department don't fret it. Keep track of the issues and your paperwork just in case the worst happens down the road but I wouldn't fret it, just enjoy your awesome new ride and the looks on people's faces when they ask about your ride and rims and you tell them it's stock! I know we do!
  17. Well, the bright side is even if the rebates are a bit less the resale of the 13 will be slightly higher than the 12 would have been (which is why they have the rebates). Of course, that doesn't help if you needed the extra $$ to purchase but at least at resale you'll get it back. Good luck!
  18. Can anyone check on this TSB stateside? We had ours remounted but I noticed some defect at the edge of the rim. The dealer of course said it was curb rash (which is almost impossible with the way the tire sticks out over the rim lip unless you really bash a curb). I thought it looked like corrosion but now I really wonder.
  19. ?? How is this a Ford issue? They are simply providing the option to use HD radio if it's in your area. In the area where I live, we have numerous HD station options which are a nice feature. (Though I still prefer Sirius) Some flip depending on signal strength but that's the technology being new and again, not a Ford issue. Seriously, you joined the forum to complain about HDRadio? Wow.
  20. If they are still in beta testing I'd say no, but I wouldn't sweat it. The upgrade process will be easy and DIY. If they have the final code it will, as at the time of our build, ours had newer software before it was released to the dealers. Just depends on where they are at in testing but since Ford said a 1st quarter release I'd guess they are still testing.
  21. Looks like an upside down mustache to me
  22. Just to reiterate the above, the key to decreasing faults is to let the NAV load before putting the car into any gear after startup. You know it's loaded when the home screen up right corner shows your current location instead of "Loading". Remote start would indeed help as it just needs to power up when the vehicle powers but if the car shuts off when you enter during remote start and restarts you'd need to let it load again. Make sure it shows your location before putting it into any gear and at least in our case we haven't have any errors that way. (Lots when we didn't wait long enough)
  23. I don't think that was a defense but rather an observation and opinion. (One which I share) I am not a Ford fanboy, never have been. My wife's family is and thus she drives Fords. I have been pretty pleased with their products over the last decade or so and am further pleased to see them back their mistakes. Contrary to your statement, "business decisions" which benefit the consumer tend not to be norm for large companies these days so when Ford appears to be stepping up it should be noted. For people such as myself and spongers that IS something more than what others have done or are doing. Clearly for you it is not. Time will tell if the issues get properly resolved but at least there is an effort underway to do so as well as an admission by Ford there is a problem, both of which are appreciated by at least this owner.
  24. I loved the voice for nav in motion when I watched my wife do it. Worked perfect every time. I try it and the car thinks I'm speaking another language. Apparently it likes women better because it's not like I don't enunciate.
