  1. We're had our Sport AWD for about 6 months and we really enjoy it. It's still the original MyTouch software so it gets a LITTLE laggy at times but no issues with reboots, etc. I'll update the software one of these days but otherwise we REALLY like this vehicle. It gets all kinds of looks and questions around here. Our previous 07 Edge had 1 trip to the dealer for a replacement exhaust bracket so reliability has been excellent.
  2. The 22s slow the Sport down a bit. Want to race for pinks with an SEL have at it, but swap out for 17s first!
  3. For what it's worth (knocking on wood now), our Sport hasn't had this issue up north in the Ohio winters. Just FYI.
  4. "Buy it out now and you can turn around in 6 months and sell it for a $3K profit (or trade it in). I'd buy it, drive it for another year while they get the bugs out of the 2011s then see if you can make the numbers work. " Excellent, excellent advice!! I agree 100%!
  5. Not sure when the last update was. Ours was built in Nov right after the most recent code (at that time) came out so it might be current or might not. With all the horror stories about updates I'm a little leary it could do more harm than good if indeed a newer version is available.
  6. Just out of curiosity, what is the purpose of your post? These issues are being discussed elsewhere and in many cases are resolved or greatly minimized. In the case of no locking fuel door that would not have changed since you ordered the vehicle.
  7. Those black chrome look FANTASTIC. Wow. Wonder how they'd hold up to nasty Ohio winters though. Only reason I'm hesitating myself.
  8. We went with the Sport because it just excites. The LTD is a nice, nice vehicle but it didn't give me the chills when I saw it. My wife liked the color matched side rocker panels and I love the rims. I'm not a huge rim guy but those just look right IMO. I also did not care for the wood trim look inserts on the interior of the LTD. If the Sport had HIDs and Homelink it'd be perfect. (Though the lights aren't bad. I do miss the homelink option though) As for the tire replacements, there are several, and actually Yokohama makes a great, relatively low cost replacement for the Perelli's. The ride is a little rougher than the LTDs but better than the 07 SEL we came out of. It goes great in the winter even with those beasty rims and tires. The power is a slightly more noticeable but not through you back into the trunk noticeable. For us, we tend to be a little more sporty than luxury and the Sport offered that vs a little more luxury with a smaller amount of sport in the LTD. Hope that helps!
  9. I've been able to use both ntfs and fat32 formatted thumb drives (up to 8gb tested) and both worked. My issue is both stutter regardless of songs, format of file system, brand of thumb drive and format of song encoding Other than that I LOVE the new Edge, it's fantastic. I think the larger drives are an issue because the system inventories the entire drive and for huge drives it just doesn't have the horsepower (I suspect given the tech specs). If the skipping issue could be fixed it'd be perfect!!
  10. Stay away from the Samsung Saga (older Win Mobile phone). All functions work except actually calling or receiving calls. That sounds like a call taken inside a running blender full of metal. On the bright side, all my contacts and images transferred without a hitch and the phone is always seen.
  11. Couple items: The radio issues are primarily fixed with a software update now (minus the USB music, ours still skips at the moment) This would resolve items 1 and 3. I agree on the emergency flashers but you get used to it honestly and isn't a reason not to purchase. The headrests take a bit of getting used to, I give you that one, but again, not enough where I don't feel comfortable driving now. As for the warranty, 2 things to note: With electronics you'll typically see issues off the bat or really not at all, and highly unlikely after 3 years if they hadn't shown up prior. If it is still a concern, Ford PremiumCare extended warranties are relatively inexpensive for these vehicles and cover most everything but wear/tear items if that helps put your mind at ease. Is it perfect? No. Would we buy again? Absolutely in a heartbeat. It's really a great, solid vehicle.
  12. New mod... front quarter panel exhaust system!
  13. Yup. Our Sport has climbed our inclined drive quite well in heavy snow so far. No complaints here.
  14. Thank you, unfortunately that's a couple hours + away. Might be worth it though based on the reviews.. wow.
  15. I do like the sound of Corsa and agree with the poster above that Magnaflow often have some nasty drone. I actually thought these were pretty good in that they are quiet around town but do let out a little at WOT. Not scare the neighbors and pets loud but nice sound.
  16. Had that on a previous vehicle, was the electrical system still running power until eventually the timer shuts it off. Can't say that's what going on here but good chance. Never caused an issue, was just unusual in that it was a little audible.
  17. Anyone know of any? Mother in law is looking to sell her insane low mileage Jag and it needs a good detailing (remove some spider swirls in the paint).
  18. NE Ohio. The new Sport has been suprisingly good. Stopping on slick surfaces needs a little care but otherwise it goes great.
  19. What's wrong with the exhaust? At least it's a real dual and not a 1 into 2. Pretty free flowing at that.
  20. "So let me get this straight, to get the correct album art on my 2011 Ford Edge, I need to use a iTunes formatted MP3 CD, or iTunes formatted MP3s on a USB drive (not exceeding 18K tracks) right? " No, you just need MP3s with properly formatted ID3 tags. All my album art comes up fine. Some of the songs skip from a USB drive which is annoying, but visually they are fine.
  21. Anyone have a fix on this? It's not the USB drive or a formatting/song issue. I've done very test possible to rule those out.
  22. Yeah, for the 3.7 there isn't much in the way of restriction in the intake or exhaust therefore not much to be gained by going aftermarket. Ford really tweaked this system for the Mustang which is great from the factory but a little dull if you like to tweak aftermarket
  23. Doh! Pretty sure ours was the first week of Nov.... here's hoping not.
  24. Ford PremiumCare ESP is their most comprehensive plan. It is different from scheduled maintenance plans but covers most if not all non wear items.
