  1. Can't believe we're the only ones with this problem? When was yours built?
  2. "which is completely unused until you reach a low traction situation or stab the throttle hard enough to induce the system" Not completely true. If you switch to the display where it shows which wheels are using power it is primarily front wheel but even a little push of the accelerator adds power the rear, no need to full on slam it. I agree though that if I didn't have the white stuff to deal with, it'd be FWD all the way.
  3. At least until the glass shreds yours eyes!
  4. I tried to call, wasn't listed as an option, and their website is jacked, won't let me add our new vehicle... nice eh? Anyone know which build days this recall applies to?
  5. Please let me know if you find a proper fix. I'm starting to think its our MyTouch which isn't good because it's the newest revision.
  6. Has anyone else had this issue? Recently our new Sport has started to lock up for a few seconds then skip to the next music track when listening to songs on the USB drive. (Mind you this drive worked well for a couple weeks) I tried troubleshooting by replacing the thumb drive with another new one, same issue. Then I looked at the music types and thought maybe it was the wma music so I switched to only MP3s, same issue. Then I thought maybe it was the specific music and listened to it on my MP3 player and PC with no issues on either. It likes the whole sync just pauses for a couple seconds then usually comes back and skips to the next song. Very annoying to say the least. Any thoughts?
  7. No but if you sign up on SyncMyRide and enter the VIN it will tell you when the sync factory updates were applied which is usually the last or next to last day of build. I also think it's on the sticker but not 100% sure about that.
  8. Whoa! I'm pretty sure Ford Employees get parts discounts through the website where you get A/Z pins. If you look they have other discounts area for multiple vendors and I think I recall seeing Genuine Ford Parts and Accessories under that.
  9. Agree if you plan to replace them. I didn't notice a balance issue with ours but I have to admit the Gorillas look nicer. FYI for you or anyone else who didn't get theirs, in the 2011 Edge Order Guide, (10/1/10 edition), Page 9 under the Edge Sport Rapid Spec Standard Equipment it states: (below is a copy paste) EXTERIOR • 22" Polished Aluminum wheels with tuxedo black spoke accents (includes locking lug nuts) Again, just FYI for anyone that cares.
  10. Keep in mind if you can find one on the lot somewhere, the last day of the year is one of the absolute best days to buy for the consumer. MOST dealers will offer a bit more discounts eating into their dealer cash to pump up their incentive moneys which in turn makes them more based on total sales. Just FYI.
  11. I actually like the 18s as well. Nice clean design. Too lazy to swap out for winter so a warm weekly wash will have to do.
  12. Congrats!!! You'll LOVE It.... an amazing vehicle.
  13. Nice shouldn't matter, they are supposed to come from Ford's factory with them. It is INCLUDED with the Sport model. If the car didn't then the dealer didn't provide you with what you paid for. You wouldn't accept other options missing and still take the car would you? Just my opinion.
  14. Dealers prefer on the lot but you need to do what is right for you. There's about 3k or so between MSRP and Invoice plus the dealer gets a bit of money on top of that. Factor in financing (if you're going to finance at the dealer) and they make more. There's room to move and a fair price for all to be had. Try emailing their internet departments, they tend (on avg) to offer better pricing from what I've heard. (We are lucky enough to get Z plan so no haggling needed but I have lots of friends in the industry) If you want to wait until you make it to Cinci and can travel north about 3 hrs I have close friends at a dealership in NE Ohio Good luck!
  15. Glad you're not Ford's designers then because the 22s on the Sport look great. Up close they do look huuuge but when you look at the entire car, they fit just right.
  16. We went AWD because it's only 1mpg difference on avg and our 07 was unbelievably great in the snow so why change a good thing? Im sure the FWD will be good but the AWD is just plain great in heavy snow. You need to allow a little extra stopping room for the 22s if you get the Sport though but the 18s on our previous SEL were fantastic.
  17. Check the nav volume also, it's seperate from the radio volume. Might just be turned down.
  18. Indeed. We had our 07 AWD for 3 years and I NEVER felt what you described the entire time.

    Snow

Not rim issue, it's a height issue. Put larger sidewalls on an 18" rim and you can have no effect to the speedo. Handling with any snow tire will be much softer.
  20. Trisha, don't sweat what you can't change. What's important is you're covered now with peace of mind!
  21. Our 07 was every 7500 with a synth blend. Haven't checked the new one yet but pretty sure it's the same.
  22. Can't say I noticed much engine noise at all on ours. I actually thought it was MUCH quieter than our 07 which was a bit noisy. Granted, I'm used to my 300C SRT which has the "Hemi Tick" so my frame of reference is a little off but I went and listened after reading this post and really didn't hear anything like that. Worth a brief service visit to ease your mind. As for the vibration, are you sure they properly balanced your wheels? It could be an alignment issue (MANY new cars are out of spec due to the trailer delivery process) but I'd lean toward a balance issue.
  23. Here's my 2 cents. I've NOT been a Ford guy my whole life. I married into Ford with my wife's family. Here's my experiences to date: Her ZX2 (early 2000ish?) was reliable but cheaply made. It got the job done for the time but wouldn't have sold me otherwise. No major mechanical issues, only fit/trim. Her Fusion, first year of the Fusion redesign: VERY impressed. Leased it for 2 years, not a single service visit. VERY reliable, well made car. Peaked my interest in Ford. When that lease ended we opted for the 07 Edge. Again, VERY reliable. 1 service visit in 3 years of our lease to fix a clip that held the exhaust. That was it. Our 11 Sport (Purchased due to poor leases, like everyone has now): I looked at virtually EVERY vehicle out there in the class. The tech on the Edge was rediculous. The interior updates were fantastic. Yes, the sync has a few glitches, but ours was a later model build with the current software and issues have been VERY. VERY minor and mostly related to our phone and not the sync. It's a little expensive but there is simply nothing else in its class. The 07 and this 11 are honestly the very best vehicles I have EVER driven in the snow. And we get a LOT of snow in the snow belt of NE Ohio. Ford is doing things the right way these days. Will your car be perfect regardless of manuf? Who knows, they all make cars with issues. My experience (over 7 years of Fords and 2 service calls!!) has been exceptional. Find a good dealer with strong service and you won't be sorry. Just my 2 cents.
  24. Knock on wood, same version as ours, and we've had 2 reboots and that's it. Everything else has been solid (except our phone but it's our phone issue not the MyTouch) My wife mentioned both reboots were when she was in a hurry, started up and took off without waiting for everything to initialize. Since then she's been careful and no reboots. We'll see but man what a ride!
  25. FYI, my quote for 7/100 100 deduct premium care (no rental) was $1170. (First day rental addon was $90)
