Let's knock off the back and forth. Xtra - the criticism is well warranted. Please post prices and some kind of test results and leave it at that.

By hard reset I meant force the phone to reboot, not a complete reload.
-
Try doing a hard reset on the phone first followed by a master rest on sync if necessary.

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?
akirby replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Accessories & Modifications
That would be nice, but I thought you were talking about including a PDF on a usb drive with the new vehicle - that wouldn't be necessary. -

I just downloaded and saved the pdf window sticker for a F150 in stock at my local dealer from the dealer website. Took about 3 seconds. Point is it's already available via the links on the dealer and ford websites. -

You can go right now and get any window sticker for any vehicle in Ford's inventory at any dealer - and it's usually still there for at least a few days after you buy it. -

Got it a couple of times, but retried and it worked. -

I'm sure it's just additional security. The dealer websites all have access to the window sticker pdf as well as the Ford website. -

Doubtful. Especially when you can get it off the dealer website when you buy the vehicle for free. -
Check out their other stuff on youtube (Home Free). Pretty amazing stuff considering they don't use any actual instruments.

It's cheaper and easier just to keep them in a Ford database and provide dealer's free access from their websites. -
That's what she said.....

If you walked into a store and there was a new one on the shelf for $599 and one that had obviously been opened and returned for $550, which one would you buy? To me it's not worth the risk. Others may think it's a bargain. To each his own.

But not nearly as exciting. Speaking of voltage testing, whoever designed the auto-shutoff on the Klein proximity voltage sensor needs a slap. When you get it near a live A/C line it beeps and lights up. Works great. I need to do something in the sub panel so I turned off the breaker in the main box (right next to it), triple check that it's clear, and lay down the voltage tester while I start to do the work. About 2 minutes later it decides to auto-shutoff - which is a great thing except that when it does so it BEEPS loudly and very similarly to how it beeps when it detects live wires. Almost crapped my pants because I was inside the panel with a screwdriver very close to the wires. Thanks Klein.....

If you want to start a new topic I'll pin it. -
Might be $75 including sales tax, but who on Earth would go through all that just to save $50-$75 as opposed to just buying a brand new one?

Second gen. Edge - Line item option delete?
akirby replied to Chipster's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
I seriously doubt all the wiring is there. -
Ford does a lot of engineering on the OEM wheel and suspension setups. Changing the wheels or the springs could yield not so great results.
-
Overkill for street use but looks great. Also not a fan of drilled rotors (other than looks). Pay attention and check for cracks frequently.

Or maybe the heated wheel is really $350 by itself and they're throwing in the floor mats for free.
