  1. Wheel size won't make a difference. Tire width can but there shouldn't be a big difference there either. I'd say it's the tires.
  2. Which text feature specifically? It will read incoming texts with no problem.
  3. If you don't use regular sunroofs now you probably won't use the vista roof. Had it on the 08 Edge and we used it just like a regular sunroof. The fact that it was bigger did not cause us to want to use it more often.
  4. I take it you didn't read the list of what was and wasn't covered by the extended warranty?
  5. Any time you get over or close to 300 hp in a FWD vehicle you're bound to get some torque steer. That's why almost all 300+ hp FWD vehicles come with AWD standard. The 2015 Edge sport was the exception, but now for 2016 it's only available in AWD. BTW - you only feel it at WOT or close to it - in normal driving it's not there or it's at least not significant enough to worry about. Even then it's just a nuisance. It's not like you lose control.
  6. In FWD vehicles it's mostly due to unequal length halfshafts.
  7. Yeah, that's torque steer. The power of the engine actually pulls the wheels to one side.
  8. PU was a typo for PTU. What do you mean by tires letting go? Torque steer pulls the steering wheel.
  9. I don't think torque steer is a problem on the 2.0LEB or the 3.5L. Certainly not enough to warrant AWD for that reason. The sport is a different animal but it's now only available in AWD.
  10. I honestly couldn't remember where it was at on the 2011s - it changed at some point.
  11. You shouldn't need it in San Jose so you can avoid the cost and potential future hassles.
  12. Do a search - it should be on a sticker under the dash somewhere.
  13. Edge is considered very quiet already but the Titanium and Sport have extra sound deadening. Unless you go through tires very quickly, just get the wheels that you like the best.
  14. If Fuses are ok try disconnecting the negative battery cable.
  15. There is no such thing as a 8 yr battery. Not in Atlanta at least. I'm doing good to get 4, although I bought a new tester and charger that should help a lot along with checking the fluid levels.
  16. Higher than it used to be. Glad somebody is listing it now. Just FYI - if you're looking at the dealer invoice the FDAF fee is already included in the bottom line dealer invoice number as well as the A/Z/X/D plan prices.
  17. You won't find a FDAF schedule because the charge varies by vehicle and by geographic location. That's also why it's not included by NADA, etc. - there isn't a set amount.
  18. X plan should be cheaper than that. Also with x plan the doc fee is limited to $100.
  19. You need to add $500 to online dealer invoices - they never include the FDAF charge (advertising fee). So that price is around $400 over invoice. Not bad provided that doesn't include rebates ( if there are any). Might be able to do a little better but not much.
  20. Carplay should be available for 2016 Edges before the end of the year. Will be standard on 2017 models. Siri Eyes Free is available now.
  21. Edge is probably not as reliable as the Lexus in terms of specific problems. There are no long term issues like developing lots of rattles or things falling apart, but there have been a few problems on the previous gen that may or may not carry over. PTU - only for AWD versions. Can be mitigated with fluid changes. Door latch sensor - probably not an issue with the 2016 due to the platform change but not 100% sure yet 2015+ Edge issues: water leaks - improper sealing from the factory. Supposedly fixed now. stalling - only affects a couple of vehicles so far (as reported here) Resale should not be drastically different if you take into account the discounted purchase price. Most Edges can be bought for just above invoice plus some rebates making the purchase price lower than MSRP by a good bit normally. Ford service depends mostly on your local dealer - hit or miss. Lincoln MKX has a more Lexus like warranty and services but again it's hit or miss depending on the local dealer. As for the Lexus grill, I'll just leave you with this picture. Warning - once you see it you will not be able to unsee it.
  22. OR I could use my phone with google maps for free. But I still have a small screen and it doesn't mute the stereo when giving directions. Just sayin'...... Applink may fix that.
  23. That's pretty much the case in the states - most mfrs bundle those options together. There are a few mfrs and models that may not follow that but that seems to be what we as customers want so that's what we get. You're right about the factory impact being the same if it's a package that's offered in Canada, so that part is entirely a marketing issue.
