  1. Find another dealer who will check codes. Best guess is a flaky wheel speed sensor causing bus problems.
  2. The reply option doesn't work - forgot if it's a MFT thing or iPhone thing.
  3. Paintscratch.com has some good kits if you want to fix it yourself. You'll probably need to sand off the previous repair and start fresh.
  4. Sorry, I thought you were drawing some kind of distinction there.
  5. Did you switch the audio input to the BT device? Make sure the iphone audio source is set to sync.
  6. Find a dealer who has a clue or give your dealer the recall number.
  7. What's the difference between a fleet/rental/lease wholesale auction vehicle and a dealer auction vehicle? They're both auctioned, right?
  8. Tell me about it. I tried to find a nice cheap used F150 - no such thing. Even a 2008 with 120K miles is over $20K. I'm looking at mid to late 70s F100s and the decent ones are $6K. Same for Rangers.
  9. Not rotating tires would just cause uneven wear on two of them. Personally I wouldn't buy it without a bumper to bumper warranty of some kind.
  10. I think the southern heat and local roads have the most to do with it. My wife drives like a little old lady so it's not driving style.
  11. Btw - I agree with Kelly Clarkson. Just walk away......
  12. I never get more than 25K out of car tires and 35K out of the larger utility tires. Temperature and local road conditions make a big difference.
  13. Well the battery light should be obvious. It doesn't mean the battery itself is bad it means the alternator isn't working. And it's not working because the belt came off. Either something hit the belt from the roadway or I'd guess the tensioner broke.
  14. Costco is not wal-mart - that's sam's club. Given the age of the battery I think it's simply bad. Doesn't necessarily mean there is a problem. Accessory mode isn't the problem - the problem is the battery is bad so accessory mode kills it. Cranking it repeatedly without letting it run for long will do the same thing. Modern cars are killing batteries sooner. At this point you know the battery is bad so just replace it and see if you still have problems.
  15. Bingo! That explains why so many are testing ok with the old style load testers but still need replacing.
  16. Don't bother testing it. For some reason in these newer vehicles with battery problems the battery will test ok but after replacing it the problems disappear. No idea why but it's a common theme. I'd just go ahead and replace it. Worst case you rule it out and you get at least 3 years of peace of mind.
  17. If it died after being in accessory mode for 15 minutes then something had already weakened the battery. It just hadn't completely drained it yet.
  18. That may not be too far from the truth........ although I suspect it has more to do with getting the supplier ramped up to supply that many replacement tanks while continuing to supply the new ones. If the supplier made 6,000 replacement tanks per week it would take them at least 8 months to make 200,000 units - while they continue to make all of the new ones. Huge logistical issue.
  19. Doubtful. At least not without a lot of work and extra parts. Why not just get the Sony?
  20. I've NEVER had a battery last more than 3 - 3.5 years. OEM, gold, platinum, doesn't matter. Of course I'm in the Southern U.S. where heat plays a major part. But newer vehicles have far more electronics and seem to be causing many more battery problems. Between several Ford forums I've seen dozens of similar problems including many where the battery tests ok and replacing the battery solved the problems. I'm not saying you don't have some type of electrical problem that's draining the battery. I'm just saying that at this point the battery is toast and probably needs to be replaced based on past experience regardless of whether it tests ok or not. You'd still want to follow up on any unusual current draws.
  21. Which is why I keep telling you there is a technical issue that's preventing them from getting the replacement tanks sooner. They're either waiting on a new design or waiting for the supplier to ramp up to produce enough of them. There is no way they would do it this way if they had another choice.
