They build, hold and inspect every vehicle off the line initially. When they've gone 5 consecutive days with no defects they give the OK to buy and that means they can start shipping the vehicles directly from the assembly line. Then they have to go back and inspect/repair the ones that were built and held. Could be only a few or it could be tens of thousands like the Fusion launch in late 2012.

I already explained why they weren't shipping yet. The reason yours hasn't been scheduled yet is they don't schedule/build retail (sold) vehicles until after the ok to buy has been given and vehicles are shipping directly off the line. Until then only dealer stock is built. The reason is those vehicles are held and must be inspected and potentially fixed before they get shipped. In some cases vehicles sit for weeks and require multiple repairs. You don't want your vehicle to be one of those. After ok to buy, it's entirely up to your dealer's allocation and your order priority which the dealer controls.

Newer fords have intelligent oil life monitor. It looks at the engine parameters including temp and tells you when to change it - usually between 7000 - 10000 miles. OEM tires are not covered by a tread wear warranty (outside of a special maintenance plan). If you want them rotated every 5K just do it yourself or take it by a local shop - only takes a few minutes and a few bucks. -
They can't be shipped from the plant until they get the ok to buy. Could be tomorrow, could be 3 more weeks. They have to build 5 days in a row with no defects.

Didn't think the box was in the way but I wasn't sure since I got rid of the edge almost a year ago.

There is a procedure in the OM to follow before you start lemon law legal proceedings.

Unless you've already bought the battery (and if you're in the states) just take it to Advance or some other auto parts store and they'll change it for you in 10 minutes at no extra charge. If you need to take off the air filter box the top should come off by pressing in on the tabs at the front and/or rear.

Provided it's FWD. AWD might have PTU issues. Also - check for noise from the wheel bearings. Another common failure but hopefully it's either not happened or already been fixed. Otherwise - no reason to worry any more than any other used car with 150K miles.

Just put a portable jumper in the car. That way you'll never be stranded until you can get it resolved.

I second trying another dealer. Some techs are better at difficult to find problems. If they're willing to trade vehicles and you're happy with the deal take it and get rid of the headache.

Not hard to believe at all Larry. The suspension is tuned for each individual vehicle. They even use different springs/shocks/struts for different engines in the same vehicle sometimes. I don't know that the MKX suspension itself is softer. Send Waldo a PM - he would know the details and whether the swap is a good idea based on what you're looking for.

Wait - you can just say Hey Siri if the phone is plugged into USB and it works? -
Oops - I missed the navigation question. I thought it was a SD card with music only. What they said.

I was close. I actually forgot that Oakville builds the Flex and MKT.
-
Yes. It doesn't change what's on the card.
-
I think the sequence number is for the entire plant or assembly line rather than each model, so the 2015 MKXs got the first ones. Also different vehicles may spend different amounts of time in other parts of the plant prior to the final assembly line.

Should be standard on the rest.

Did you try replacing the battery?

My tires never last more than 35K on a vehicle like the Edge. And I also had to have one tire replaced due to a nail in the sidewall. Uneven treadwear just points to needing an alignment. It doesn't mean abuse and it's EXTREMELY hard to change the odometers nowadays. You'd have to change out the entire cluster and you'd need a Ford tool to do that. -
Don't forget the wires are protected by rubber which is impervious to acid. The only damage would be where the wires connect to the terminal if those are exposed. Should be really easy to see if there is damage. But the corrosion comes from gas given off by the battery - you'd need a direct splash of acid to do any real damage. Not likely.

Strange........

I thought Sync was standard on SELs? You don't have usb ports inside the center console?

That's not completely accurate. Mileage still plays a big part in the value of the car. One time I priced out a 2 yr old vehicle and a 3 yr old vehicle with the same mileage and there was only a few hundred dollars difference in value. Of course driving anything off the lot drops it a lot right off the bat, but the whole "model year older" argument in regards to value down the road is sometimes exagerrated. -
I'd say yes. That type of corrosion would not damage the cable. If it runs and starts fine and there is no visible damage to the wiring it's fine. To be safe go get a second opinion.
