I don't understand why your insurance won't cover you driving a loaner even for an extended period? And class action lawsuits for something like this are worthless. By the time it goes anywhere Ford will have fixed the problem and replaced the bad tanks and the only ones getting anything will be the lawyers. Save those for cases where the mfr refuses to do anything about a problem.

2015 Edge - First Year Model Problems?
akirby replied to alzakx's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
If it was possible to make it cheaper, why wouldn't they just do it from day one and fix it if it starts having problems? Makes no sense to make It more expensive than necessary just so you can make it cheaper later.- 37 replies

If they knew it was going to be delayed that's exactly what they would have done. It's obvious this was supposed to debut last fall and by the time they realized it was going to be delayed it was too late to do that.
-
Not legally. Do you work for free?
-
I don't believe they're delaying this on purpose. Either there is a problem getting enough replacement tanks from the supplier or they're redesigning it.

DRL's Daytime running lights
akirby replied to BlazedUp's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Must be a California thing. I'll refrain from any further editorial commentary....... -
You never really know. That was 3 years ago and no problems and no rate increases. Then again we've been with them for 25 years. Shortly after my son left home and got his own Geico insurance he totaled his 2005 Focus which at the time was 7 years old. It only cost $16k new but Geico wrote him a check for $8K. Not sure if they would have cancelled his policy - he chose not to have a car after that. He lives in a suburb of Seattle and takes the bus or rides his bike everywhere.
-
My wife went from an Edge to an Escape. It's fine for tooling around but I would not want to drive it long distances. The seats suck. If I get rid of my Fusion we'll probably trade the Escape for a new Edge for travel.
-
It's not very hard at all. My daughter had a 6 month old 2012 Focus when she rear ended another car. Airbag deployed, everyone was ok but the entire front clip, hood and fenders were pushed back about a foot. There was some damage to the engine but the rest of the car looked fine. Geico totalled it without hesitation and I got full replacement value.
-
True but that's only a few hundred at most, not $4K.
-
If you're implying that the dealer gets a $4K rebate from Ford in addition to the 3% holdback AND your $3500 rebate you're sadly mistaken.
-
No idea. At this point you need a mechanic.

It should not lose your MFT settings. -
Actually the dealer doesn't get those rebates - they go directly to the buyer unless you assign it to them and they deduct it from the vehicle price which they already did - for $3500. Are you saying there was an additional $500 dealer cash rebate? And yes, holdback is 3% and that affects the dealer's net cost, but technically speaking the dealer still pays Ford for the actual dealer invoice even though they get some money back after the sale. The point was you have to include advertising and fuel before deducting dealer cash, holdback and other incentives to get the actual net cost.
-
I don't think so. Did you check the other wheels?
-
Advertising and fuel are part of the invoice price that the dealer pays Ford. If they discounted it then that came out of their holdback. Notice the Xplan price - the formula for that is dealer invoice minus 0.4% plus $275.
-
That's what happens when you drive a brick (aerodynamically speaking). At a certain point the power required to combat drag starts to go up exponentially.
-
If the traction control light is blinking, yes - it will cut power to regain traction. The way it knows that you lost traction is when the wheels are not turning at the same speed. So if a bad sensor is telling the pcm that a wheel lost traction, you'll lose power. Have you tried turning off traction control (is that possible - can't remember)
-
Probably a wheel speed sensor. Could be flaky or could just be contaminated. Should be able to see it next to a ring that turns with the wheel. Make sure nothing is in there.
-
You forgot the fuel and advertising charge. Actual dealer invoice $41,775. X plan $41,883.

In case that wasn't clear.... REPLACE THE BATTERY! -

Yes. At this point I'd be willing to take up a collection to get you a new battery, if that's what it takes. You can't believe battery testers or even load tests any more. Based on your symptoms and previous experiences I'd say it's 98% sure you need a new battery. Starting the vehicle but not running it very long will drain the battery because it doesn't have time to recharge. -
That's because the button on those was originally up next to the radio so they would hold the button down with their thumb while operating the touchscreen. By moving it away from the touchscreen you eliminate that problem. I guess it's still possible but not nearly as probable in the new location.

Differences between 2011 and 2013 Edge Sport?
akirby replied to ksandals's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Huh? Sirius doesn't record anything. There is no hard drive - that was only on a few pre-MFT vehicles.
