  1. There is no "THE" CAN bus. It's just a protocol for communication between devices and controllers and it's up to the mfr how they implement it. It sounds like the Germans simply have an implementation that is more sensitive to aftermarket devices which is either due to the physical wiring and/or the controller software.
  2. Of course the Edge has CAN bus. I think all vehicles in the US have it after 2008.
  3. My 2013 Fusion is off and on also. Not sure if it's a quirk between the iphone and sync or just a sync bug.
  4. You can probably find a used one but you'd have to get a dealer to swap it out. The old one has to be deprogrammed and the new one reprogrammed to the car. Stickers would be easier.
  5. You buy a new speedometer face. It's not electronic. Actually you have to change the entire cluster - $493.45.
  6. Either demand they replace the battery or spend the $100 yourself. You'd be surprised how many problems a flaky battery can cause.
  7. Yes, through the A/V inputs (RCA plugs). You can't watch videos while the vehicle is moving - it's against the law (because it's a bad idea - too easy for the driver to be distracted). Better to use an ipad for the passengers.
  8. Have they replaced the battery? A bad battery can cause all sorts of strange issues. My daughter's 2012 Focus was having TCM flakiness and a no start condition that was fixed with a new battery yesterday morning. If the dealer won't replace the battery do it yourself and see if that helps. I assume you've already upgraded MFT to the latest version? That fixes a lot of earlier problems.
  9. It's normal. Mix some baking soda and water to clean it. Or coca-cola. You can get different things to prevent it including sprays.
  10. Turning off autoplay has nothing to do with phone calls.
  11. Nope. You can't change the order or remove unnecessary ones.
  12. Check the autoplay option on either the phone and/or mft.
  13. Here is the 2015 Fusion order guide. I would bet the equipment levels and models will be very very similar. http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/56347-20142015-order-and-production-date-question/?p=903655
  14. That was a 2008 non-MFT system. You could simply swap out the head unit for a nav and it works. You can't do that on 2011+ models with MFT.
  15. No you should not have to do this. But you have to understand that dealers are independent businesses that Ford has virtually no control over thanks to 60 year old franchise laws. As you can see Ford does care by putting reps on forums like this one and that's the best way to get help when the dealer isn't doing their job.
  16. I'd counter that the 2015 Edge itself is SPORTY already!
  17. Not released yet. I would figure about $300-$500 more than the current model accounting for equipment differences.
  18. I can't count the number of times that people had a problem, the battery tested ok but as soon as they replaced the battery all the problems went away. Battery testing is not perfect. Look at it this way - if nothing else you just bought peace of mind on the battery for at least 3 years and you ruled out the battery as a problem - for $100 and 15 minutes.
  19. Umm....replace the battery? That's the most likely problem. I doubt that's covered by the CPO anyway. If it is and they refuse to replace it do it yourself and ask for reimbursement if that fixes it. It's only $100 and 15 minutes at AutoZone or Advance.
  20. Your dealer should be taking care of this for you. If not find another dealer.
  21. I think he means visually it's not distinguished from the non sport models as much as the current one.
  22. See if there is something loose or stuck in the front brakes. Also retighten the front lug nuts to spec and make sure they are all even (100 lb/ft). If not then you probably need new pads and a new or turned rotor.
  23. The standard replacement battery at Autozone is 650 CCA (cold cranking amps). Anything higher just gives you a safety margin if the battery gets weak or you have a starter/engine problem.
  24. The substrate is plastic but the coating is real chrome. Regular car wash soap is all you need.
