"Still going over the settings and the remote still doesn't turn the heat on after the new module was installed." I have had this issue with MKX, Third APIM later still not working. Dealer has contacted "Tech hotline assistance on 5/9/13 while having the APIM programed. Could not resolve this issue. I was told to leave it in last setting and it would work. 'NaDa' This feature has preformed 6 times in three years. Surprises me every time it happens. JC

My MKX has the same interior.

Had this happen to me. With the vehicle running, I opened the door to remove the fuse and the screen came on.

On 11 MKX, The All Weather Floor Mat has one weak spot. The left foot section does not go above the foot rest pad. So that area get dirty and allows muck to fall behind the mat.

Auto setting will set the temp to 72℉ in cold or hot weather. There should be a setting for Heated seats in the left screen , " if it's set to auto , it will heat the seats in cold weather only. There is no mention in the owners manual at what ambient temperature it will turn on." My car has this option, It has worked one time since I set it, in 2011. 3 APIM later, the dealer with the aid of a Ford Hotline assistance could not get to engage when set to auto heated seats. WWWPerfA_ZNOW, that is one issue that I can't get my dealer to admit to. My time at the going labor rate charge by my dealer, would be acceptable. LOL! JC

In my experience/opinion, after 3 APIM replacements is that: (it depends on the technical expertise of the tech and the time given to setting up the software). There must be many apps built in to the operating systems, Some are, basic and optional at the discretion of the technician. Each time that this part, (APIM), was replaced different features were available. Such as the running engine stop after so many minutes feature some Ford/Lincoln vehicles have active. I wish that I had that feature activated on my vehicle, after leaving it running for 4.5 hours in the driveway. I am not talking about the remote start feature, that works the way that it suppose too. JC

My 11MKX, once set toBTA always defaults to BTA, unless I start the car without a BTA device present. Then within 30 sec. MLT defaults to last setting, usually FM radio. JC

Frank, My 11mkx will stay on bluetooth for 30 sec. After I start the system, or the car. Then sync will find the whatever it was set to before bluetooth. JC

Add a small amount of baking soda to the mix, = a mild abrasion helps with the tough spots.

fleggex, Do you know that the usb that you get from them is reusable. After you install the update successfully., and verified the install. erase all files from the usb and use it for any future updates directly to the usb drive. This works every time for me. Best Wishes, JC

My issues also started at that time, 3 visits to dealer to deal with the issues.

I did the 3.6 and that resolved all my phone issues with MLT. My dealer told me the issues were with my phone. JC

To add to this thread, My vehicle has the third, (3) , APIM since July 20 2011. I have no idea why the dealer replace them. JC

A national law firm, Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP, has filed a proposed class action lawsuit whose presupposition is that MyFord Touch is defective. Specifically, the complaint states that the system - as well as the MyLincoln Touch and MyMercury Touch clones - often freeze, fail to respond to voice or touch commands and have issues connecting to mobile phones. According to Hagens Berman managing partner Steve Berman, MyFord Touch is a theoretically "brilliant idea" that falls short in actual execution. Said Berman in a press release, "In reality, the system is fundamentally flawed, failing to reliably provide functionality, amounting to an inconvenience at best, and a serious safety issue at worst." Other MFT issues enumerated within the 41-page filing include problems controlling the window defroster, rear-view camera and navigation system. The suit maintains that Ford is aware of the problem but has yet to submit a workable and acceptable solution to MFT customers. With a Nexus 7 and some velcro around the edges of the center screen benzel and the outside rearedges of the tablet. With google map and navigate, I am very happy with the results. Only negative is to turn on/off the cooled/heated seats feature. Every other feature has a work around. JC

The remote start auto options are for heated or cooled seats, neither option functions at start up. The auto temperture option works the way it is program for the temperture set by the My Temperture setting. My Temp. is set at 71 degrees. When below 71 the heat is on, above 71 the AC is on.
