Had our first sons car seat installed in our 2008 Edge in the center without any problems. Once we had our second they each got a side. Just FYI as a police officer, I don't know a single department that doesn't offer child seat installation.

Best of luck to you on your road of recovery. You'll be very pleased with your Sport. I hope it brings you many safe and happy miles through the years.

I like #2

Yes I have with the wife and we did quite well. I found a local outlet that sells foam and bought a slab of memory foam for the rear. It was about $120. Then with my mother in laws sharpest electric knife and a cardboard template I made, I cut it out to the Shape of the rear. With the front passenger seat folded, there was plenty of room for out bags and we slept in comfort. To vent the truck I bought tent screen from campmor and cut it to the shape of the windows and sunroof (oversized of course) to hold it in place, I have strip magnets that secure it to the outside of the doors. It's like a mobile tent we can park and set up in seconds.

I absolutely love my 22" pirellis. I guess I'm the minority here? I liked how they charged through the snow last winter, think they have great wet and dry weather traction, and above all they have very little highway sizzle (the high speed tire noise) so I love em. But to each their own. Ford was able to fix my pressure problems by dismounting my tires, cleaning the tire bead and the rim surface and remounting the tires.
-
I've been lucky. So far so good with tire pressures. Of course I'm constantly monitoring them with the dropping ambient temperatures of the fall. Of course the cooler air is also leading to better mpgs so its all give and take.

bassani exhaust sounds amazing on the new 3.7 mustang, if I were to change mine out, that'd be my choice. You have to hear them in person though because audio recordings don't do justice with any exhaust. I remember listening to heismann exhausts for my CLK 55 and thought they sounded terrible. After hearing one in my friends shop, I was on the phone ordering one. Find someone who installs them, and go have a listen.

The Vellano VRH is a great looking wheel, or check out the ACE Deluxe both have the same 5 star painted center that looks like the Sport wheel. I'm considering one of these in a 20" for my wife '11 Explorer"Sport"

Ive had mine pretty near a year and love it. We even bought the new Explorer for my Wife. I do agree with your complaints though.

They were in ours when we originally test drove it. My Wife asked the dealer about waiting for one without the Backlit doorsills and the cargo package, or swapping them out, since we weren't interested in either. The sales manager walked over, crossed it off the option column totaled the cost savings and took it off the price of the car. He looked at my Wife and said "Want the truck now?" We took it. Are they worth the money if you have to pay for them? NO. Theyre white backlit all the time, and do not change with the ambient light.

Bummer, let someone move my car and they touched the curb. Its not as bad as it could be but its damaged. Im looking for someone to repair it now.

Confused between new ford edge and new ford explorer
Edgieguy replied to sadnes's topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
We liked both so we got a "His and Hers" matched set in Platinum White Tri-coat Metallic. They are very different SUV's or CUV's or whatever you'd like to call them. My Sport with 22's feels tight around turns at full speed, The Explorer? Larger, softer, less sporty. Definitely more luxury. Surprisingly We haven't towed our trailer with the Explorer yet. Friends of ours regularly tow a small mobile camper with theirs and say they don't even feel it. I couldn't say that about towing a 1850lb payload with my 2008 Edge, it seemed like that setup always struggled to find the right gear to drive in. Get what you like and feel comfortable in. Either way, you'll be happy with what you choose. They are both wonderful vehicles. -
Fastest color ford makes right now too!

Of course you can switch out the originals for HIDs. The lens is 100% the same, but the HID bulb clips in differently I was told. The service manager at my dealer confirmed this when I first took delivery of my Sport and talked to their parts dept about possible doing a swap. You also need to buy a ballast and HID bulb. I dont remember the total cost, but it was not worth it in my opinion when for $45 dollars I installed aftermarkets with no hacking, cutting, and they perform just as well as OEMs. But to each their own. If you have the cash, and it doesnt bother you spending that much...Yes, you can swap in HIDs.

I have never had to pay for an update yet, but weve complained about all our problems all along, so theyve really been fixes in my opinion. Glad youre having good luck with that dealer, i tried speaking to them once a few years ago and thought they were terrible. I then bought a car from Verner Cadby, never again, my next was from Mahwah Ford, They sucked too. Now after we purchased a 2011 Edge Sport and Explorer from All American in Paramus, theyre starting to drop the customer service ball as well....

2012 vs. 2011 lighting specs
Edgieguy replied to lil1's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
I installed a set of 5000k 55w HIDs from ddmtuning.com. I bought the 9006 size for my 2011 Sport and they fit perfect without any type of modification. You def won't be disappointed with the ease that they install with and they Brighten up the dark nights. -
Bummer. There's no way not to feel bad. At least no one was injured. We picked up an 11 Explorer for my wife this spring. She had it all of 4 days before some teenage girl on a cell phone driving a 27 color Nissan altima changes lanes without looking (sound familiar anyone?) and bumps her front bumper and tire. The damage was minimal, but the pain of having her brand new vehicle damaged was huge. We got it fixed and you can't tell it was ever there, hope you wind up the same way.

The hitch attaches to the extruded boxed section that you might call a frame rail even though it's not really. The exhaust hangers won't interfere with the mount points. I was working on a dropped hitch to attach to my Sport and everything from my 2008 matched my 2011. Then I ditched the project when we picked up a 11 Explorer with a tow package for the misses.

I made some with splash guards I already had. Posted pics too, do a search.

Awesome, Congrats to you both. Cant wait to see pic of the Edge the Bikes and the Good Beers!

It does not have lane assist, although it does show you in the right pane window, next to the speedometer, how far you are from your next turn with a distance meter that counts down numerically and its also visually depicted as a shrinking bar. If you cant get yourself into the correct to make the turn, this nav wont help.
-
Congrats. Hope you have many enjoyable safe miles in it.

Eric, I've decided to add the advance key proximity key and push button start to my wife's explorer. She hates digging for her keys when she's walking up to the car with groceries or kids or all the above. Snce my friend has installed and has a dealer agreement with advance key I'll be using that one. If you're interested in how it turns out, I'd be happy to post back here, not sure if you did this already or not.
