  1. May just be a case of low refrigerant? http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/19505-ac-not-cooling-2013-2016-ford-lincoln-built-on-or-before-8182015/?do=findComment&comment=144026
  2. Any updates? Did the issue get figured out, or did you end up getting a new vehicle?
  3. What were the plug gaps, showmanmd? Driving mostly city, mixed city/hwy, or mostly hwy?
  4. Good luck, and looking forward to pics & comments Hope this is a one and done solution.
  5. Ok, so Bank 2 then. Thanks! Can you take a pic & post please (even if it doesn't look any different)? Part number handy? TIA.
  6. 55W would be fine in the projectors, since halogens are 55W anyway. But you have to be ultra sure you aim the headlights for the HIDs, likely lower than for the halogens, to avoid the risk of blinding oncoming traffic. 35W is normally sufficient, but 55W is apparently required if you live in an area with long dark stretches of road. As to the difference between A & B, it is not a difference in bulb but the type of base, this is how the site explains it:
  7. If it's any comfort, Osram and Sylvania are the same company. Osram is the "high end" brand.
  8. Tell dealer drove through high water, check
  9. Good question. The dirty side, or bank 1, definitely has a baffle, not sure on the clean side, or bank 2.
  10. AFAIK, the oil in the intake tube could just be from a clogged PCV valve. OR it could mean that you need a new rear (bank 1) valve cover to solve the issue that afflicts some of this MY Edge and Explorer vehicles.
  11. Hope you are feeling better day by day ...
  12. If it is the engine splash shield, you COULD get away without one for a while, in theory. The Edge may not perform as well due to degraded aerodynamics and there may be cosmetic effects as well in the engine bay. If it is the fuel/emission splash shield, you would be leaving those components open to damage, which would cost you far greater monies to repair and likely would not be covered under emissions warranty.
  13. A few minutes away should be ok. The piece might come off and you might run over it, so just be aware, pick it up if it does come off if possible. Definitely avoid road debris as much as you can.
  14. From the looks/location of it, I think it is the plastic cover under the main cabin that protects fuel and emission components. Definitely replace/get it replaced as soon as you can. EDIT: do you have a turbo/Ecoboost engine or the 3.5L engine? The turbo engines have an additional splash shield under the engine bay. Did you have an oil change done recently?
  15. That is scary strong. No synchronized driving around the track then!
  16. These sensors aren't long-range so you should be ok with the storage. However, I can't recall if the spare has a sensor that may be interfering. Try driving around without it in the Edge. If that works, maybe mask it with foil or a mylar blanket when putting back in.
  17. No pan on the Edge. The filter is a "permanent" screen, and is accessible only by cracking open the case halves.
  18. Hey Tacyon! Greatly saddened to see this happen to you and your Edge. But as noted, very glad you have made it through and definitely praying for a quick and full recovery. Positive thoughts, and best wishes.
  19. Huh? None of the explanations make any sense to me, but ... The 2011 at least if not the 2011-14 Edge did have a PCV issue with oil getting past the throttle plate and into the intake tube. That is the most likely source of the oil in the airbox. The PCV system does not produce much oil vapor, but I suppose it was somehow compromised from the start, that could possibly do it. Maybe the "new" throttle body and/or sensor was/is faulty. How much oil was found btw? Fingers crossed, I have not had issues at all on my 2007 with oil in the intake tube. Date ReportedJANUARY 01, 2014 NHTSA Reference#10055042 TSB Reference#ASI-44354 Description: FORD/LINCOLN: AN ACCUMULATION OF OIL, IN LEFT HAND VALVE COVER BAFFLE, MIGRATING THROUGH FRESH AIR INTAKE OF POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION (PCV) SYSTEM, MAY HAVE ENGINE OIL IN INTAKE AIR SYSTEM COMPONENTS.
