Hope you will LOVE the way your Edge drives! Don't settle for anything less. -
Map light bulbs on 09 Edge/MKX
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to enigma-2's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Happens a lot. So you have to look for the right base (T10?) and size specs in replacement bulbs. A little time consuming, but worth it. Or in our instance, check out available packages from drivebright.com -
PM Tricia anyway. You never know.

I know you have been through it with Ford Canada already, but maybe Tricia (FordService on here) can help out? This dealership experience was pure rottenness and should not have happened to you.

2007 awd throws wrench light goes into limp mode
WWWPerfA_ZN0W replied to jrSS's topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
You were on target already, that is why I believe no one responded. Plus a search on the forum turns up enough corroborating information. Good luck, hope no more fixes needed for a long while. -
Happy truckin'!

Mineral gray, right? Welcome to the forum, Mark, and congrats on the '12 EB! Hope you log many troublefree miles with it, and share your experiences along the way
-
Welcome, congrats on your '14 SEL, and looks like Ford knew just when you'd run out of patience Hope to see pics of it soon. If you can, have the Edge prepped/detailed by a trusted/reputable shop, don't let the dealer do it for you. The Edge will stay pristine that much longer.

Maybe look on EBay, get it installed at the dealership and have Ford reimburse?
-
Bah humbug! Sorry to see you had to find out the hard way. Any possibility of recovering cost? Maybe if you dispute the charge for the seal replacement at least (if on credit card)?

Well, there you go! That should keep the drivetrain safe, though obviously handling & response is compromised until the problem is fixed.

I dunno, could be electrical (alternator/solenoid), could be a bearing ... I have a similar sound coming from the engine compartment, on occasion, especially audible at lower speeds while accelerating uphill. So far unresolved.
-
I agree with your general line of thinking, but Ford's maintenance intervals esp regarding the transmission leave something to be desired. I am simply curious to see if the spare tire would be a non-issue even with the PTU issues that are known to happen. Any stats we can look at (for any make/model)?

Can you isolate where the sound is coming from? If from the cargo area, it is likely the fuel pump (Ford is known to generally accept it as normal behavior).

Welcome to the forum, and concur with statements above.

Pics pics pics, kind sir! -
If AWD is disabled during this time, or there is enough tolerance built into the PTU to handle it, I can see that happening. If AWD is NOT disengaged, however, and the PTU is marginal, I wonder if it would still be safe.

Gotta do what's right for you, still, saddened by your experience with the EB Edge. Good luck with the Sorento
-
Welcome to the forum, sorry to hear about these issues! Do you have FWD or AWD? If AWD, I would suspect the PTU (low on fluid, fluid worn out, gears worn out etc). How does the transmission fluid look (red & clearish, no burnt smell, fill level)? I would have an auto parts store pull codes to see if there are any relevant service bulletins that might apply.
-
A 3% allowance is built into the AWD system, so if you are outside that, time to get the tire fixed/replaced pronto.
