  1. I agree the tranny is in good condition. I have not heard too much at all bout the physical condition of the Edge transmissions. The only reason you would need to replace the tranny is if you go out Canyon running like WWW. The Out put sensor alone for Ford to replace it for me was nearly 800 dollars. So you will be saving $$$$ by going DIY. I have said before if I knew back then what I know now I would have fixed it myself.
  2. may as well change the tranny filter while you are at it.
  3. First where you been? Second: The radio is lower on the list. New rear shocks, New left side LCA and all the bits that go with that and my ever lasting gas cap light that I may work on or may not. If I do get one I may just go with some plug and play after market radio that has sirrius ability. Not looking to rattle my license plate off the car.
  4. I think it is offical I have to sell the 2008 Ford Edge. The radio display stopped working so now I can not see which station to set it too. LOL It used to light up if I hit the dash lightly, Then lightly harder, then harder and today I beat on it and no display. Presets are working at least until my battery dies or I have to disconnect it. Then it is anyones guess. Radio roulette anyone?
  5. The hard part is getting to the top nuts of the strut. Imagine doing this and replacing the LCA at the same time.
  6. One reason I bought a FWD.......I do not feel like making a PTU replacement video. LOL
  7. Sorry just my old memory. WWW most likely has the FSM he has everything!!!
  8. Very similar issue I had when the Rear output speed sensor failed. I would aim for that as it sounds Identical to the issue I had. Plus these sensors are a known failure.
  9. Just a note, you can change the struts in your driveway without a lift. I did it. Also at 104K you are due new struts and rear shocks anyway.
  10. The next video we will change vintage. It will be on the 2011 with a rear tail light change/comparison.
  11. Ford probably hired three nerds who live in the land of doom and pepsi cola and call the mail slot and gun port. LOL
  12. Darn curbs will get ya every time. Which you and I have a lot in common. I hit a curb, road up into the grass, got thown off and the bike hit the light pole. Very similar accidents. Note: when my mother found out about my accident the first thing she did was go into the garage and check the shelf. She counted four helmets (four sons) which immediately told her that my pumkin was nude and now freshly carved.
  13. Essentially when the sensor died I did loose the OD on the tranny. The real problem was when I stopped at the one stop sign in the whole town and it took me about a minute to get enough speed built up to cross the intersection. Knowing what I do today. Instead of stopping in that town I would have just continued the remaining 20 miles home as it would eventually hit hiway speed if you gave it enough time and distance. It was drivable but not advisable in heavy traffic. For me it was a sunday night in rural Iowa so the traffic was almost zero.
  14. Leave it to me to blaze the path. I am not sure the 2008 will make it to ten it might but that sure seems to be a bit of a reach right now. Yes lift access is a life saver for me. I do not think I would be able to do this work without it. Hopefully the issue I had to deal with let's folks know just what they may have to deal with.
  15. I had the biggest bike at my high school that I bought when I turned 17. Let me tell you I spent many hours bailing hay/straw/rowing corn out of bean fields and detassling. I earned that bike.
  16. My tranny kept full speed when the OSS stopped working. The RPM upped about a thousand or so, but it still maintained highway speed until I slowed or stopped. The malfunction can be disturbing, but It was still drivable at highway speed and I was out in the middle of no where so I kept the throttle on until I reached a small town and then stopped. I drove it about 15 miles without a problem other than some worry.
  17. Mercy Girl is perplexed as to why more people are watching this video on how to change a light bulb then the very difficult video and harder video to make about the changing of the LCA (lower Control Arm) She seems to think the LCA video was so much work that more people should watch that because light bulbs are easy. From the mind of a 12 year old........LOL
  18. My vega was mostly my winter transport. My true transport was my Honda 750F super sport with windjamer and radio. I spent most of my money putting rear tires on that bike.
  19. APO and FPO's have a lot of regulations on what can be shipped. If you try using UPS or FEDEX I bet you could get it at a PRICE. Had to deal with the same issue when I was in the Navy.
